Chapter 32 - Chapter 32: The Things We Can’t Explain

Work didn't slow down.

If anything—

It became heavier.

Man Ning stood in the conference room.

Files spread across the table.

"This clause needs to be changed," she said calmly.

"But it was already approved," someone replied.

Man Ning didn't even look at him.

"Then approve it again."

Silence.

No one argued.

Because she was always right.

After the meeting—

Mr. Kim followed her.

"You're pushing too hard," he said.

Man Ning stopped walking.

"…That's the only way forward."

Mr. Kim looked at her carefully.

"And what happens when there's nothing left to push?" he asked.

Man Ning didn't answer.

Because she didn't have one.

Meanwhile—

Shen Yan faced a similar storm.

"Sir, the investors are not convinced," Minji said.

Shen Yan leaned back.

"Then make them convinced."

Minji hesitated.

"…It's not that simple."

Shen Yan's gaze sharpened.

"Nothing is simple," he said.

Silence.

Minji nodded.

But as she turned—

She whispered to herself—

"…You've changed too much."

Later that evening—

Man Ning sat alone in her office.

The city lights flickered outside.

Her eyes felt tired.

But she didn't stop.

As she opened a file—

A small paper slipped out.

She frowned.

Picked it up.

A simple sketch.

Old.

Faded.

Two figures.

Standing together.

No faces.

Just a memory.

Man Ning stared at it.

Her chest tightened slightly.

"…Why do I feel like I've seen this before…" she whispered.

But no answer came.

She slowly placed it back.

Closed the file.

At the same time—

Minji was organizing documents.

Her hand paused.

A name appeared.

Not clear.

Not complete.

But familiar.

Her heart skipped.

"…Why does this feel important…" she said softly.

She tried to remember.

But nothing came.

Only a feeling.

Guilt.

Heavy.

Unclear.

Across the city—

Shen Yan stood near the window.

Looking at nothing.

"…Why does it still feel unfinished…" he said quietly.

He didn't understand it.

Didn't try to.

Because understanding meant remembering.

And remembering—

Was something he avoided.

Three different places.

Three different lives.

All moving forward.

But something—

Was pulling them back.

👉 Some memories don't return clearly.

👉 They come back as feelings… you can't ignore.
