Chapter 36 - Chapter 36: The Feeling That Stayed

Time started moving again.

But something had changed.

The meeting continued.

Words were spoken.

Documents discussed.

Decisions made.

But none of it—

Stayed in their minds.

Man Ning spoke clearly.

"Clause 4 needs revision."

Her voice was steady.

Professional.

Shen Yan replied calmly—

"Accepted."

Simple.

Direct.

No mistakes.

No emotions.

From the outside—

It was just a normal meeting.

But inside—

Nothing felt normal.

Because every time their eyes met—

Something shifted.

Something unexplainable.

Minji stood quietly.

Her gaze moved between them.

"…Why does this feel strange…" she thought.

Mr. Kim also noticed.

But said nothing.

The meeting ended.

Chairs moved.

Files closed.

"Looking forward to working together," Mr. Kim said politely.

Minji nodded.

"Yes, same here."

Man Ning stood up.

Shen Yan did the same.

For a moment—

They stood facing each other.

Close.

Too close.

Silence.

Then—

"Good work," Shen Yan said.

His voice calm.

Man Ning replied—

"Likewise."

Their hands met.

A handshake.

Professional.

Normal.

But—

Her fingers paused slightly.

His grip tightened just a little.

A feeling.

Familiar.

But unknown.

Both pulled back.

At the same time.

Man Ning turned first.

Her steps steady.

But her heart—

Not.

"…Why does it feel like I know him…" she whispered inside.

She didn't look back.

She couldn't.

On the other side—

Shen Yan stood still.

Watching her leave.

Just for a second longer than needed.

"…This feeling again…" he said quietly.

Minji noticed.

But stayed silent.

Something wasn't right.

Something felt… unfinished.

Outside the building—

Man Ning stopped walking.

Her chest felt tight.

She took a deep breath.

"…It's nothing," she said.

But her voice wasn't convincing.

Inside—

Shen Yan looked down at his hand.

The same hand that touched hers.

"…Why did it feel like that…" he whispered.

No answer came.

Because some feelings—

Don't come with answers.

They come with memories.

Memories that haven't returned yet.

Three people.

One past.

Standing at the edge of truth.

👉 They didn't recognize each other.

👉 But their hearts… already did.
