Chapter 225 - Chapter 225: Mordekaiser

"This is the place you came to before?"

"Yeah. This used to be a grand temple."

"No matter how I look at it, I can't see anything grand or sacred about it."

Akshan's brows were tightly furrowed, and he was ready to raise his gun and shoot at any moment.

Compared to him, Gwen seemed much more at ease in the Black Mist, as if she had come home.

"The most urgent thing is still finding Lucian and Senna. It seems like those two are still inside the Shadow Isles."

"For this long?"

Caleb was a little shocked. Knowing that the Black Mist's strength had not decreased, but had instead increased, was already an astonishing discovery.

But to say they could discover that without being discovered themselves was pure nonsense.

Under such intense fighting on the Shadow Isles, Caleb had received the letter, yet those two still had not withdrawn?

They had even triggered the headquarters' alarm?

Kai'Sa's skin shone with iridescent colors, like a hummingbird in the desert.

Her two wings were ready to flap at any moment and wipe out the enemies around them with high-speed mobility.

Ryze's palm had already lit up with the element of light.

"It seems the situation here is not too different from the Black Mist before."

"But unlike the Black Mist that could erode others, this time the Black Mist is almost solid. It can attack and defend."

Caleb also felt that something was wrong, but at this point, they could only take things one step at a time.

Ever since everyone arrived here, they had not dared to move a single step. In a place this evil, Caleb did not dare act rashly.

"Go."

After putting down a Jack in the Box, Caleb's figure swayed, and another clone swaggered out of the hall toward the outside world.

A huge figure dropped from above, and Caleb's figure vanished in an instant.

Even the scattered Jack in the Boxes were completely destroyed halfway through the air.

"She's that strong?"

Caleb had already noticed before that there was an almost invisible layer of web on the ground.

"Are these the final batch of sacrifices Noxus sent over?"

The spider transformed into a beautiful woman in an instant.

The spider legs behind her, set against that exquisite face and graceful figure, instead made the person before them seem breathtakingly beautiful.

"Then I'll enjoy you one by one."

"Elise." Caleb still recognized one of the junglers from his previous life who had once destroyed him.

Countless little spiders circled around her feet, and at this moment, she truly had the air of a queen.

"I'll start with you."

She did not seem to care what the people in front of her thought, whether they moved or not, or whether the figure just now had turned into an illusion and boxes.

Eating was her greatest need.

A white mass streaked through the air. Gwen rushed forward, blocking the attack with her body and Hallowed Mist.

"Looks like this place really is wrong."

From Elise's words just now, Caleb had caught two points.

"Noxus" and "final batch of sacrifices."

What could be known was that, at least before this, the two sides had been in a cooperative relationship.

Elise was responsible for helping Noxus gather intelligence on the Shadow Isles, while Noxus continuously provided sacrifices.

If that was the case, the temple they were currently in should be by the sea.

Otherwise, with so many monsters along the road, sending sacrifices while also risking the lives of the guards was not cost-effective.

"Attack!"

At Caleb's command, Gwen charged forward with her giant scissors, just as she had done in the Black Mist.

As long as her scissors could cut through everything, spider silk was not that terrifying.

Akshan was not as flashy. He simply aimed his light at Elise and began charging his shot.

Kai'Sa looked at the "little spiders" rushing up and frowned slightly.

They were called "little" spiders, but they were as high as a person's ankle. To ordinary people, they were already terrifying enough.

Yet Kai'Sa could only think of the Void creatures near Icathia, also madly devouring everything.

That made her even more determined to deal with this place.

"Indeed. Compared to World Runes, there is a greater threat in front of us."

Ever since the previous Black Mist, Ryze had tested all kinds of magic against it, with varying effects.

The best results were closest to the aura of the golden long blade in Caleb's hand and the gun in Akshan's hand.

His hands seemed to wave randomly, but in truth, an entire set of light orbs had already burst out, charging toward the swarming spiders.

Elise, however, calmly released another spider. Compared to the little spiders around it, this one was a full four or five times larger.

"Careful, that thing explodes!"

Actually, when that white mass came flying over, Caleb had already wanted to warn everyone to be careful of this woman's skills.

But Gwen had taken it upon herself to block it, and its flying speed was much faster than Caleb's mouth.

So only when Elise used her exploding spider did Caleb finally shout his warning.

With twin blades in hand, Caleb's choice was, of course,

Arcane Shift into Fate Sealed, then Last Breath!

Under Elise's astonished gaze, streams of red and green mixed fluid spilled from her body, making her look even more bewitching.

Caleb did not dare be careless and quickly retreated to a safe position with Shadow Step.

The other party used poison, and she used it on the Shadow Isles, a place where most living things were neither living nor dead and suffered in torment.

Caleb did not want to get poisoned. He did not have the ability to digest poison either, so caution came first.

"You will all, in the end…"

Before Elise could finish speaking, Akshan's hail of bullets fired as he swung on his grappling hook, the long needles Gwen released from within Hallowed Mist, Kai'Sa's sudden appearance and the Icathian Rain she fired, and Ryze's spells from the very back, whose speed was no slower than a machine gun, all arrived together.

Amid a burst of smoke, Elise's figure vanished.

A shriek almost made Yuumi's fur explode.

One second earlier, she had still been happily using missiles to play around with the little spiders. The next, her eardrums were nearly blasted through.

"Move!"

Caleb had no intention of lingering in this place. No matter how powerful the force entrenched here was, this was still only the outskirts.

The truth their group wanted to explore was instead deep within the Black Mist.

At the center of the Shadow Isles, line after line of soldiers from the realm of the dead stood in neat formation.

"My king, what an honor it is to welcome your return."

Thresh's face was no longer that skeletal skull. It had become the face of a normal person.

"Put away that useless courtesy of yours, and that cheap loyalty."

A majestic voice rang out from within the iron armor, as though it could dominate everything.

"I have yet to settle the old debts with you."

The mace was terrifying, like an executioner's tool that had gone through countless slaughters, making it impossible to look at directly.

"What should we do about those two wielders of light weapons?"

As he spoke of this, Thresh's voice could not help growing low.

Before the seal was undone, he had been unable to do anything to those two, but even after the seal was lifted, his confidence had not increased much.

"Light? Hahahaha…"

The other party seemed to have heard a ridiculous joke, releasing waves of chilling laughter.
