Chapter 233 - Chapter 233: First Strike

"You want me to fight shoulder to shoulder with him?"

Aatrox snorted through his nose, but Caleb understood. This guy actually admired Atreus.

If anything, he looked down far more on Pantheon, the Aspect of War he had killed.

"If that really won't work, I can ask Yaanogel... His body still hasn't fully recovered, but I can beg him to take the field personally."

Aatrox pondered for a moment, then still gritted his teeth and said, "No!"

Caleb understood now. After all that, this guy was just being difficult, wasn't he?

"You've killed plenty of people from Mount Targon already..."

Right in front of the two people who possessed Aspect power, Caleb still managed to help Aatrox save a bit of face.

"Then I'll make the trip!"

Aatrox declared grandly.

Although he was nowhere near his peak, Aatrox believed that with blood magic strengthening him, he would not be too weak.

"I'm going too."

Unexpectedly, the Faceless God, Xolaani, also asked to come along.

"Xolaani, your status is too important..."

Kai'Sa could not bear the thought either. As an Ascended, she knew that Xolaani was strong enough, but in battle, she usually did more to heal frontline warriors.

Otherwise, she would not have been dragged off by Rek'Sai and repeatedly used as food for her brood.

"Someone will be hurt. I have to go help."

Xolaani still insisted on her opinion, but another voice from the side interrupted her.

"With me there, you don't need to worry."

Caleb turned his head and saw a purple-skinned woman speaking sincerely.

Caleb originally wanted to make a comment about how Soraka was not quite as curvy as he had imagined, but he held it in...

Unlike Atreus and Diana, who had either been granted power by an Aspect or possessed by one, Soraka had given up her existence among the stars and entered the mortal world directly in the flesh.

And unlike Yuumi, that torturous little cat perch, Soraka was, in the truest sense, someone who lived by the idea that as long as she was alive, no one would have to suffer.

Giving up her existence among the stars had caused her strength to drop by quite a lot, but it also allowed her to truly walk among mortals.

"Is Taric not coming with you?"

Caleb was a little surprised. He had thought the Aspect of the Protector and the healing celestial would travel together.

In that case, with the shields Taric could call down from the stars and Soraka's healing blessings, Caleb would have had much more confidence in this fight.

"He is not with me."

Soraka shook her head slightly and spoke with some regret.

"That's fine. Having you here makes me much more reassured."

Caleb gave her a thumbs-up. With this, almost three T1 powers from Mount Targon had joined them, and with Aatrox, the current benchmark for T1, that made four solid T1s.

The Aspects' performance on land was limited in the end, but that was still enough. Three Aspects and two Ascended, it was hard to call this lineup anything but luxurious.

Ryze silently watched all of this and thought about the last time he had come to Shurima, when he had nearly died at the hands of his own proud student.

But as he looked at Caleb, who could move between every side so smoothly, Ryze felt somewhat dazed.

Could he truly have been wrong? As long as the World Runes were used properly, could they really benefit the whole world?

Caleb did not bother arguing with the bald man beside him.

The guy had already gone that bald trying to become stronger. If Caleb kept being so serious about it, it would be a little hurtful.

"You came to us to borrow combat power?"

Qiyana sounded somewhat confused, but she still generously led Caleb to the final shard of the Monolith.

After Kai'Sa took out an imperial order from Azir, Qiyana was shocked to discover that the small mountain had really moved.

"After all, the elemental mage from back then was also an Ascended under Shurima."

The corners of Caleb's mouth lifted. This was a true weapon of mass destruction.

He just did not know whether it would be interesting when this thing met their own "Mecha Malphite" and the two stared at each other.

But moving something this huge over there would still have to rely on Ryze and the Book of Thresholds.

Manaflow Band had practically become the most frequently used rune shard during this period. No matter what happened, they had to rely on it at least a little.

By the time Caleb and the others fully arrived in the Freljord, Sejuani and Ashe were both somewhat numb.

"Are you sure this is all?"

The other side had not brought an army, but the things they had brought were truly shocking.

There was a massive creation like a small mountain, a huge drill machine that could transform into something like a giant beast, roughly the same height as that mountain.

There was also a mecha creature that kept sharpening its claws and flapping the wings on its back. No one knew whether it was a mecha or a real creature.

After that were Caleb, Kai'Sa, and Yuumi, three old friends.

Farther back was Aatrox, carrying his greatsword. When he saw Tryndamere, he even smiled at him.

Then there was the solemn blue-skinned bald man, covered in glowing runes. The aftereffects still had not faded. Moving all these things over had truly been exhausting.

Behind him were the three mortal forms of Aspects, in every sense of the phrase.

"You're here!"

Sejuani climbed down from Bristle's back and tightly shook Caleb's hand.

"Yeah."

Caleb's answer was still simple and direct.

Mainly because Kai'Sa was watching from the side.

She had been plenty jealous last time.

"How is the situation at the Frostguard Citadel?"

Caleb did not see Lissandra, which was bad news.

Sure enough, Ashe stepped forward and explained, "Not good. Lissandra has fallen into an almost endless slumber. We can wake her, but after that, the Void's awakening will be close."

"Is everything prepared?"

Caleb looked at the Frost Priests, Spirit Walkers, and berserkers behind her.

If someone said they were not afraid, that would be a lie. But that was exactly what made their courage stand out.

The frost cavalry had come as well, even the Ursine.

"Thank you all for your hard work."

For Caleb, this was about resisting the Void, but for the Freljord, this was about protecting the land where their people had lived for generations.

Before he had walked much farther, Caleb saw the three earliest demigods born from this land.

Ornn, Anivia, and Volibear.

Along with them came the Seal Sister, who had previously helped Ornn draw seawater into Hearth-Home.

"Move out!"

Caleb had plenty of confidence. The team had giant mecha and magical constructs.

They also had Ascended, Aspects, and demigods.

They had one of the most accomplished mages in the mortal world.

But even with all that, when it came to resisting the Void, Caleb was still somewhat uneasy deep down.

By the time everyone arrived above the ice, Lissandra slowly moved toward Caleb.

"This time, don't sacrifice us and seal the things here away for another ten thousand years."

"Stay in your lane and don't bite off more than you can chew. Don't do anything unnecessary."

The three sisters had been strong, but the way they obtained their power had been wrong.

There was no such thing as a free lunch. At least, when beings far stronger than you existed, that sort of thing was not realistic.

And there was no logic in one person trying to shoulder everything alone.

So, Caleb had pulled all these people together.

He had even shamelessly borrowed some of Viktor's robot army.

"You can prepare to lift the seal."
