Chapter 234 - Chapter 234: Feast

"The dark ice won't take long to melt. Everyone, get ready."

The field of dark ice was not some single massive sheet of ice. The sealed Voidborn were all in that bottomless abyss.

If the seal here broke, it meant the creatures inside would no longer be restrained.

Once the dark ice was removed, air would pour into the abyss.

At that point, nearly all the Voidborn, including the Watchers within, would fall into a dazed state of awakening.

That moment would be the time for Caleb and the others to attack.

Caleb did not rush to make contact. Instead, he looked around.

Compared to the yetis and various allies from before, those who had come today included demigods, Ascended, and even mortal vessels of Aspects.

The power systems were varied and complex, and they also had Soraka helping them. On the human side, a master mage like Ryze was watching over things.

Caleb believed that even if Lissandra wanted to sacrifice this group again, the first one to die would only be Lissandra herself.

Caleb would not give her any face, even if she had endured through such long ages.

At most, Caleb would reward her with an Arcane Comet.

For her, that could hardly count as a waste.

The Frostguard would, of course, continue helping their side, and there would always be a way to melt the dark ice.

After all, Anivia, the inventor of True Ice, was right here.

Lissandra was merely an Iceborn. Taking the Void's power had been a mistake, but during her reign over the Freljord, she had still been diligent enough.

That was why Caleb had spared her life, using her to pacify the Void Watchers and "open the door."

"Get ready!"

Lissandra shouted softly. When the time came, the glacier over the abyss would vanish, and everything above it would fall into the depths below.

Caleb was among them, part of the first group launching the fast assault.

"Begin!"

In the end, Caleb gave the order. The ice surface that had existed for thousands of years disappeared, along with the melted ice beneath it.

Pairs of crimson eyes lit up in the depths of the abyss. It truly was like that saying, when you gaze into the abyss, the abyss gazes back into you.

Caleb had no intention of continuing to gaze at it. Mana surged wildly around him, and an entire comet came crashing down from the sky.

"The storm will devour you!"

Thunder rolled down in waves. Volibear and the Ursine also launched their attack toward the depths of the abyss.

Lightning swept past Caleb. The ones who had entered with him included Kai'Sa, tightly following her cat perch, Kai'Sa with her wings flickering nonstop and a long-lost expression on her face, and Atreus, whose Grand Starfall continued to tear forward below them, kicking up waves of blood.

In the Void, the largest eye slowly opened, bringing an endless pressure with it.

"It's here."

Caleb silently held his sword by his side. Even Diana and Atreus, the two Aspects rapidly following behind him, were a step slower.

The reason was that this move required him to seize the initiative.

Manaflow Band surged madly around Caleb. Without the slightest hesitation, he faced that single eye, just as he had faced the Balestrider on the ice field that day.

Behind the Aspects were the Ascended and demigods.

However, Ornn and Volibear, the two brothers, were still above, waiting for the first wave of people who entered to return.

They were the ones who would go in and cause the greatest damage, but if they were going to fight, it was naturally better to fight on solid ground.

The abyss was too vast, and the power inside was too strong. Otherwise, Caleb would have wanted Ornn to block up this rift directly.

But since that was impossible, Caleb stopped thinking about it and simply used his strongest skill in the truest sense to clash with it head-on.

The Skies Descend!

The strike shook the entire earth.

If someone could stand among the stars and had a good enough vantage point, they would be able to see the continental plate of the Freljord slowly shifting.

Especially in the eastern valley, where it seemed as if even more abysses were about to split open.

Aurelion Sol's skill truly was powerful. In front of Caleb, aside from blinding light, almost nothing could be seen.

That was the one and only being of his level in this world. Caleb estimated that his ultimate skill could flatten Mount Targon.

That was also one of the reasons Caleb had dared to go to the celestial realm and face Zoe directly.

After all, he possessed Aurelion Sol's ultimate skill. In the eyes of the Aspects, the result he could show would be no different from the sky collapsing.

Of course, there was also a chance they would think he was Aurelion Sol's mortal vessel.

Then he might be imprisoned among the stars.

Fortunately, the demons had interfered, and Atreus's strength was powerful enough.

The Aspect of Justice, who was truly capable of fighting, was also not in the celestial realm.

It was because of all these coincidences that Caleb had given up on using this skill before.

Now, facing the Void's strongest combat force, the Void Watchers, Caleb hurled this move out at full power without hesitation.

The Watcher's instincts screamed warnings like mad, but after being frozen in the ice for so long, it could only follow instinct and raise a shield.

Not long after, the hastily formed mana shield shattered. Spilling starlight struck the Watchers and the Void creations around them.

There were no screams. For Voidborn, these were trials.

If they could endure it, what awaited them would be evolution after a successful feast.

The Void's native plane was not merely greedy. The Voidborn, and even the creations infected by the Void, were the same.

Unfortunately, these creations were all modeled after the material realm and made from matter in the material realm.

To put it more simply, they were material lives shaped by the Void.

But Caleb's strike was a move from the celestial realm. Even against the material realm, the death realm, or the Spirit Realm, the power of this move would not be reduced in the slightest.

Whew...

Caleb wiped the nonexistent sweat from his forehead. Behind him, spells and various attacks arrived exactly as promised.

The Void did not only contain high-end combatants like the Balestrider. It also had those insect-like creatures, small, but seemingly endless.

After being washed by three layers of Aspect power from Caleb, Atreus, and Diana, the monsters now crawling out of the Void were not trying to attack. They were trying to flee.

"You want the world you know to be destroyed, do you?"

Hearing those words, Caleb could not help retreating again and again. From the valley floor where the Void had taken root, a massive creature was slowly climbing upward.

"Fall back!"

Spells were still being hurled into the abyss as if they cost nothing, and the Iceborn on the surface had been waiting bitterly for a long time.

What followed were two enormous front claws gripping both sides of the abyss, and a gigantic head emerged.

Caleb's face was pale, but he was still doing his best to breathe, even as the cold wind stabbed into his lungs like blades.

The snowstorm rapidly cooled Caleb's burning blood, and the heart that went with it.

Cho'Gath had probably still been devouring while trapped inside the dark ice, eating his own kind and constantly increasing his size.

Even Malphite and Mecha Malphite were now a full size smaller than him.

"Everyone, the hour of survival has arrived. Fight until death!"

Following the shouts of the two Warmothers and Lissandra, the entire Freljord plunged into a war beyond measure.
