Chapter 239 - Chapter 239: After the Battle (EC)

Fiora used her family's secret technique almost without hesitation, Riposte.

The twin claws were blocked by her rapier, and now she could not pull herself away either.

"Gorlith!"

Garen could be said to know petricite extremely well.

So he was also fairly certain that after that explosion, the petricite could basically no longer keep the people inside imprisoned.

Assuming the people inside had not already been drained dry by the poison smoke and the petricite walls.

The giant griffon created from the petricite statue pressed its claw down. Flying here had consumed quite a lot of its magic, but fortunately, the faint trickle of magic between heaven and earth had still accumulated quite a bit over the long years.

Inside its claw, only fragments of petricite could be seen.

Manaflow Band surged wildly beside Caleb, and Nullifying Orb let him carry one woman and one cat through the aftermath completely unharmed.

As for Ryze, he was still a grand mage who had been active since the Rune Wars.

He could not possibly wipe out here, right?

Caleb trusted that his luck was good enough.

The smoke screen kicked up by the impact prevented the enemy from aiming precisely at him, and the Book of Thresholds had also lost its vitality because its magic had been almost completely drained.

Caleb was in a sorry state now, but there was still a sliver of hope for survival.

"Wait, I'm thinking about something."

Jinx's sudden ceasefire left the suppressed Dauntless Vanguard stunned, but then she showed a cruel smile and continued sweeping them with machine-gun fire.

Unlike the machine gun she had used before, which had limited ammunition, all of Jinx's machine guns this time fired extremely fast and hit extremely hard.

It could be said that every attribute of her entire body had been greatly enhanced.

By contrast, Ekko's enhancement leaned more toward speed and defense.

In terms of offense, since he used cold weapons, his killing power was actually still limited.

But paired with all his inventions, tying up Garen was more than enough.

Caleb gasped for air, then discovered a cooling sensation coming from his left hand.

A feeling of revival enveloped Caleb, and waves of warmth flowed through every part of his body.

Even the rune power that had been emptied earlier returned to his body at this moment.

Caleb's eyes snapped open. This was Janna's blessing.

Although it was not as powerful as the blessing Soraka had brought down from the celestial realm back at the Howling Abyss, it was enough.

Caleb climbed to his feet. Looking at Ekko's equipment, he could not help smiling.

PROJECT had finally launched on schedule.

It had not disappointed Caleb. The designs he had hidden in the paper ball had worked.

Caleb had never fully trusted the Ferros family.

If they never stabbed him in the back, that would only prove they did not have the confidence to do it.

Thinking about it, that made sense. Expanding their own business completely and no longer having to read the mood of a powerful man was exactly the style of this patient, calculating family.

Caleb held Youmuu's Wraithblade and the Blade of Light in his hands. First, he used a little of the magic he had just recovered to release a clone and sent it forward.

Garen's heart sank when he saw Caleb walking toward him.

Demacia was isolated from the world, and it could basically provide for itself in every way.

But the nobles and the royal family needed top-tier goods from all over the world. Otherwise, they could not continue living in comfort.

After all, what kind of sense would it make to take the king's money and spend it on commoners?

Having enough food and clothing was already the greatest blessing they could receive.

Garen's thoughts did not continue, because the short kid's next strike had already arrived.

"Are you here to protect that prisoner?"

Piltover truly lived up to its name as the World's Throat. To monopolize all trade, they had paid a bloody price this time and persuaded Jarvan IV to let Garen lead a small portion of the Dauntless Vanguard on an expedition.

And within Demacia itself, Galio and the other petricite statues were guarding the country. Gorlith had been chosen by the other side, a massive statue second only to Galio.

"Face judgment!"

Garen brought his sword down without hesitation, then slammed the greatsword hard into the ground.

Judgment from among the stars.

A massive pillar of light pierced Caleb's body, but the smile that had appeared on Garen's face quickly vanished.

Three boxes bounced out from Caleb's dissipating body, then spat at him in a burst.

Garen had never seen anything like this before, and he could not help freezing for a moment.

But in that very instant, Caleb's true figure charged out from behind.

Last Breath, Tempest Slash.

The killing moves of Caleb's two great wind sword techniques quickly broke through Garen's tough armor, and another blade stabbed deep into his abdomen.

"As long as you don't move, you won't die."

Caleb was telling the truth. As long as Garen did not get up and move around again, he would not lose too much blood, and when the time came, Yuumi or Janna could heal him.

But if he insisted on continuing to fight, Caleb did not mind turning the Might of Demacia into history.

Garen painfully clutched his abdomen, his brows tightly furrowed. He slowed his breathing as much as possible, trying to reduce the flow of blood.

After Garen, Fiora, the Grand Duelist, also lost her ability to fight under the combined attack of Caleb and Warwick.

Now only that thing was left.

Caleb turned his head and looked toward the enormous petricite statue.

If there was really no other way, he would just fire a few more Voice of Light blasts.

No matter how broken petricite was, Caleb did not believe it could surpass Aurelion Sol's power.

"Stop!"

Garen shouted through the pain.

"We have already been defeated. As long as you do not keep pushing and wipe us out, we can make Gorlith stop."

Hearing Garen say this, Caleb nodded slightly.

A casual move he had made earlier had actually saved his life at this moment.

That was something Caleb had not expected.

"I remember Vi should also have had PROJECT blueprints, right? You didn't make them for her?"

After Caleb said this, he saw Jinx lower her head, kick a stone, and glance away.

"All right. Depends on what you decide later."

Caleb shrugged and did not say anything more.

As for this thorn buried in the hearts of those two sisters and rivals, Caleb still figured it was better to let nature take its course.

PROJECT: Free, Ekko. PROJECT: Madness, Jinx. PROJECT: Doomsday, Warwick.

These three had played a crucial role in this battle, especially Jinx. Her contribution could truly be called the greatest.

However...

There was another matter Caleb had no intention of letting go.

Caleb asked himself honestly, in his dealings with the Twin Cities, he had never always maximized his own benefits or harmed Piltover's interests at every turn.

Even after Piltover developed killing intent, Caleb had ultimately only killed one troublemaking councilor as a warning to the others.

Caleb's eyes were cold. Beside him, the noble son Salo had long since been frightened into collapsing on the ground.

"Who led this operation?"

Caleb grabbed the pale-faced noble son with one hand. If not for Jinx's nearly frighteningly sharp intuition, which had destroyed that thick petricite wall, Caleb would never have had a chance to crawl out.

More importantly, where exactly had their equipment come from?
