Chapter 47: Being Tracked?
Douluo: Dugu Bo's Life Simulator
Inside Spirit City!
Dugu Bo stepped out of a blacksmith's shop.
After declining the invitations from Golden Crocodile and Bibi Dong, he didn't leave the city immediately.
Since nearly everyone living in Spirit City was a soul master, the city's craftsmanship far surpassed that of Tiandou Imperial City in virtually every respect.
Since he was here, he decided to take advantage of the opportunity to forge some hidden weapons—he still had a piece of heavy silver on hand.
After placing orders at several blacksmiths, Dugu Bo checked into a modest hotel within the city.
Crafting the hidden weapons wasn't simple, especially for blacksmiths whose forging skills weren't top-tier.
There was no way they could finish in a single day; he might need to stay for two days.
Soon, Dugu Bo completed his check-in and entered his room.
Interestingly, he had been recognized during check-in.
The hotel owner not only waived his fee but also assigned him the finest room in the hotel.
Dugu Bo sat by the window, watching the ceaseless flow of people below and reflecting on the events of the day.
He didn't regret rejecting Spirit Hall's invitation.
Because of his system, many things couldn't be explained clearly, and Spirit Hall's people weren't fools—they would grow suspicious over time.
He wasn't arrogant enough to think he could stand against the entire Spirit Hall.
Thus, not joining any faction was the safest choice.
With the Titled Douluo coronation complete, once he returned to the Tiandou Empire and escorted the two young girls back to the academy, he could attempt to neutralize the poison.
Only then would the thorn lodged in his heart truly be removed.
Suddenly, a commotion erupted on the street below, snapping him out of his thoughts.
Peering out the window, Dugu Bo saw a dense crowd swarming the hotel entrance.
Among them, a man shouted with fervor:
"Is Titled Douluo Poison staying at this hotel?"
Another person added:
"Which room is Titled Douluo in? I want to stay next door."
A plump woman called out:
"Titled Douluo, we want to see Titled Douluo!"
Nearby, a woman as pretty as a blossom blushed and said:
"Yes! Not only is he powerful, he's also so good-looking…"
"Careless!" Dugu Bo's expression darkened as he hurriedly packed his belongings and flung open the door.
He glanced at the jammed, impassable entrance and sighed.
A black soul ring materialized and lit up instantly.
"Eighth soul skill, Time Freeze!"
In an instant, within a radius of a thousand meters centered on Dugu Bo, everything seemed paused—people and objects frozen mid-motion.
Dugu Bo walked calmly through the crowd toward the distance.
The crowd remained frozen, their expressions and gestures suspended.
Once he passed, the frozen crowd resumed activity as if nothing had happened, continuing to jostle and argue, each person eager to see him up close.
Dugu Bo emerged in an empty alley.
He removed his crown, pulled up his hood, and wrapped himself tightly, moving like a celebrity avoiding paparazzi.
He didn't linger in the city, instead checking into a nondescript hotel.
Meanwhile, inside the Pope Hall, Bibi Dong examined the documents in her hands, surprised.
"He went to a blacksmith?"
"What is he having made?" She flipped over the blueprints Dugu Bo had provided, unable to discern what they represented.
Chrysanthemum and Ghost Douluo glanced at each other, equally baffled; the blueprints revealed nothing to them either.
Dugu Bo had anticipated this. After all, this was Spirit City—concealing anything from Spirit Hall under their nose was impossible.
That was why the blueprints he gave the blacksmiths were only for hidden weapon components.
He had even hired several blacksmiths to ensure he could forge what he needed.
Bibi Dong set down the blueprints.
"Forget it. If he doesn't want to join any faction, there's no need to interfere."
She stood and left the hall.
Ghost Douluo's shadow-like face flickered ominously.
"That guy actually dared to reject the Pope's invitation… how arrogant."
Chrysanthemum's eyes glinted as he spoke slyly:
"Old Ghost, shall we teach this arrogant fellow a lesson?"
Previously, Dugu Bo had defeated him with poison, humiliating him in front of Huyan Zhen and the Red-Clothed Priest, leaving him furious.
He intended to use this opportunity to reclaim some dignity.
Ghost Douluo hurriedly warned:
"He's still in Spirit City—don't act recklessly!"
Chrysanthemum retorted impatiently:
"Do I seem impulsive to you? We can wait until he leaves Spirit City to act."
He muttered under his breath, glancing at Ghost Douluo's shadowy form:
"Is your head filled entirely with black mist?"
Ghost Douluo seemed to notice, looking at him.
"Chrysanthemum, don't think I don't know you're cursing me."
Chrysanthemum rolled his eyes disdainfully.
"So what if I do? You can call me Chrysanthemum; can't I curse you?"
"You little Chrysanthemum, you really are cursing me!"
"Take this!"
Bang! Bang! Clap!
After a while, the two emerged from the Pope Hall.
Chrysanthemum's face was a patchwork of bruises.
Ghost Douluo fared little better, a section of his shadowy head missing…
It was clear their fight had been intense.
Two days later, Dugu Bo returned to the blacksmiths to collect the completed hidden weapons and made his way to the city gate.
A soldier on guard, seeing him wrapped tightly, blocked his path.
"Stop! Who sneaks around like this? Remove your hood!" Holding a knight's spear, he barred Dugu Bo's way.
Dugu Bo complied, pulling back his hood and turning to face him.
The soldier froze as he recognized him.
"T-Titled Douluo… Your Grace Poison?"
"Greetings, Your Grace!"
The soldier recovered, saluting hastily.
The salute, though polite, drew the attention of onlookers.
Dugu Bo had intended to stop him but was too slow.
"Damn it!" Seeing everyone's eyes on him, he cursed, shifted his body, and vanished instantly.
Once he left, the crowd recovered, searching for him.
"Where did he go?"
"Why did he disappear?"
Dugu Bo had already exited the city, flying toward the Tiandou Empire.
