Ending his contemplation, Su Mu lay on the grass, gazing up at the cerulean sky while enjoying a rare moment of tranquility.
Suddenly, a series of kill notifications began to pop up before his eyes.
[Killed F-rank Mysterious Being: Goblin. Gained 4,740 Hunting XP, 210 Gold Coins.]
[System detected tenant participation in this hunt. Based on contribution, Apartment Administrator Su Mu receives 90% of XP and Gold.]
[Received 4,266 Hunting XP, 189 Gold Coins.]
After the first prompt, the subsequent notifications followed in a steady stream, his experience and gold accumulating at a consistent pace.
It wasn't until near noon that the notifications finally ceased—March 7th had begun leading Misaki and Yui back to the apartment.
The three of them had headed out directly to hunt this time rather than using the apartment's "Field Hunt" function. This meant that if they encountered danger, they wouldn't be able to teleport back instantly. However, since March 7th was Su Mu's clone, she could be recalled by him at any moment regardless of distance, making the function's presence redundant for her.
As for Misaki and Yui, who previously possessed zero combat ability, they wouldn't have been able to complete a hunt independently even with the function. Having March 7th lead them for real-world combat training was a far more effective way to raise their levels quickly.
Now that their levels had increased and they could handle F-rank monsters on their own, the safest arrangement for future trips would be for them to use the Field Hunt function when heading out as a pair.
Su Mu checked his own status. He had already reached Level 35.
Previously, he had been less than 100,000 XP away from Level 34. In just a few hours, March 7th had helped Misaki and Yui accumulate nearly 500,000 XP. They had not only slaughtered hundreds of goblins but also encountered several E-rank and D-rank monsters along the way. It was the high XP from these stronger creatures that allowed Su Mu to breeze through his level break.
Although Misaki and Yui only received 10% of the XP and gold—and because they took turns landing the finishing blows, they effectively only gained 5% each—it was still a massive boost for characters who started at Level 1.
By now, both women had reached Level 15, and each possessed over 1,000 Gold Coins, enough to support their future independent hunts and daily expenses.
On Su Mu's side, as the apartment level rose in tandem with his Administrator level to 35, new functions and permissions were unlocked. One particular new function came as a massive surprise, perfectly solving the problem of the apartment's remote location and the difficulty of attracting new tenants.
[The Omnipresent Apartment]: The apartment now overlaps with every apartment in the world across a different dimension. Any target meeting the residency criteria may find themselves arriving here upon entering any apartment. They can return to their point of origin regardless of whether they choose to move in. Simultaneously, the Administrator, tenants, and employees can choose to exit the apartment to any location outside of any other apartment.
With this function, Su Mu would no longer have to worry about finding tenants, and he could finally explore other areas. For someone just starting to venture outdoors, this served as excellent training.
The new Administrator permission was the icing on the cake:
[Direct Invitation]: The Administrator can issue residency invitations directly to targets meeting the criteria. Targets not from the current world can travel freely between the apartment and their original world.
This meant Su Mu's pool of potential tenants was no longer limited to this world. In the future, when he or his clones explored other realms, he could invite qualified individuals to live in the apartment.
"Main Body! Misaki-san just invited us to her place for lunch," March 7th called out as she jogged back, her skirt fluttering. A few specks of dust from the outside still lingered on the tips of her hair, and her tone was cheerful.
She wasn't really asking for permission; she was simply delivering the message. As a clone linked to Su Mu's mind, she knew perfectly well that he would never refuse such a gesture of kindness.
Su Mu tapped his finger against the table and nodded slowly, a trace of warmth in his eyes. "Mhm. We'll head over once she's finished preparing."
While the store offered ready-made gourmet meals, he knew that since Misaki had extended the invitation, she intended to cook fresh ingredients herself. Such sincerity was not to be slighted.
"Alrighty! I'll go tell Misaki-san right now!"
March 7th chirped happily. As she turned, her hair brushed lightly against her shoulders, and she vanished instantly, terrified of delaying the preparations.
Once she was gone, the atmosphere around Su Mu grew quiet, and a new thought began to take shape in his mind. Almost instantly, this thought was transmitted through the bond between clone and main body to Himeko.
"Will the 'Other Worlds' entered by different clones also be different parallel worlds?" Himeko leaned against the window, tapping the sill as a look of intrigue flashed through her eyes. "That hypothesis is certainly worth verifying. I'll head out and investigate right now."
Before her voice had even faded, her figure transformed into a wisp of light and vanished.
When Himeko opened her eyes again, she was greeted by the silhouette of a village. However, the scent of greenery in the air was distinct from the sweet freshness of Buena Village in March 7th's memory—this place smelled heavier, of damp earth and rust.
Relying on the memories shared between clones, Himeko determined immediately that this was not Buena Village. The scale of this settlement was noticeably larger, with some twenty to thirty houses arranged in an orderly fashion, nearly double the size of the dozen or so in Buena Village.
On one side of the village lay a dense forest, its lush canopy blotting out the sun. This was a common sight in these other worlds; after all, forests were storehouses of resources—timber, wild fruit, and herbs. Building a village next to a forest was a matter of survival.
Where there was a village, there was intelligent life. To figure out which world she was in, the most direct way was to enter the village and ask.
Himeko gathered her thoughts and began walking toward the village with light, graceful steps. She suppressed her aura to the limit, blending into the environment like a shadow.
As she drew closer, the fuzzy outlines of the houses became sharp—grey-tiled roofs and rammed-earth walls, all carrying an ancient, rustic texture.
At the same time, a chaotic din drifted over on the breeze—the sound of hurried running, cries of despair, beastly roars, and a mix of shouting and cursing, all woven into a heart-wrenching symphony.
"Another 'monster attacking the village' trope?" Himeko murmured, her brow furrowing slightly.
When March 7th first arrived at Buena Village, she had stumbled upon a scene of monster carnage. Hearing these similar sounds now, it was hard not to draw the same conclusion.
But this time, the roars were punctuated by the clashing of metal and the barks of soldiers, making the situation seem somewhat different.
