Chapter 33 - ''Realm of Mysteria''{33}

Episode 33: Realm of Mysteria

February 13, 6078 – The Realm Mysteria

A realm hidden between the folds of reality, Mysteria was a place where Wrathborn with truly mythical abilities gathered — those too powerful, too broken, or too dangerous for the mortal world, Heaven, or Hell.

Nathan Moya opened his eyes to a sky of swirling silver nebulae. His body felt… different. Not quite alive, not quite dead. He sat up on crystalline grass that shimmered like moonlight on water.

"You're awake," a calm female voice said.

Nathan turned to see a woman with flowing silver hair and eyes that reflected the stars. Selene Arkwright. Her power — Lunar Veil — allowed her to manipulate moonlight into illusions, barriers, and devastating beams of celestial energy.

"You sacrificed yourself to close the Hell portal," Selene said softly. "That kind of selflessness echoes across realms. Welcome to Mysteria."

Nathan stood, still processing. "My friends… Kevin… Sasha…"

"They mourn you. But your story isn't over."

From the shadows emerged others.

Grug, a hulking revenant — undead Wrathborn with rotting green flesh and glowing red eyes. He carried a massive broken axe and spoke in a gravelly voice. "Fresh blood. Good. We need warriors."

Then came Eddie Gigglesworth, a lanky man in a tattered comedian's suit, constantly grinning. His power, Maximum Overdrive, let him supercharge any joke, prank, or performance into reality-warping chaos — turning laughter into literal explosions or forcing enemies into uncontrollable slapstick weakness.

"Finally! New guy!" Eddie cackled. "Wanna hear my bit about the Rampager walking into a bar? Spoiler — the bar explodes!"

A thunderous roar echoed. From a massive stone labyrinth emerged The Labyrinth Lord — a towering Minotaur with obsidian horns and eyes like burning coals. He ruled the ever-shifting maze at the center of Mysteria.

Last to appear was Paradonitious, a tall, battle-scarred warrior in black-and-gold armor. Rejected by Heaven for his rage, Hell for his honor, and the mortal world for his power, he carried a sword that could cut through fate itself.

"You carry the scent of the Rampager," Paradonitious said, voice deep and weary. "The boy who bears the Mythical Matrix. The realms are stirring. Old wounds reopen."

Nathan's mind raced. "I need to get back. My sister… my friends… they think I'm dead."

Selene placed a gentle hand on his shoulder. "Mysteria does not easily release its chosen. But your sacrifice earned you a place here. Train with us. Grow stronger. When the time comes, you may return… changed."

Grug grunted. "The boy needs to learn how to fight without dying next time."

Eddie grinned. "Or at least die funnier."

The Labyrinth Lord stamped his hoof. "The maze will test you."

Paradonitious offered his hand. "We are the forgotten. The rejected. The mythical. Join us, Illusionist. The war you left behind is only beginning."

Nathan looked at his hands. Faint traces of his illusion power now shimmered with silver lunar threads. He was alive — but forever altered.

In the distance, a vision shimmered — Kevin roaring in the ruins of The Blank, Wyatt fighting, Sasha standing before his statue.

"I'm coming back," Nathan whispered. "Just wait for me."

Willowbrook High School – Same Day

The bell rang for lunch. Kevin Leister and Wyatt Freeman walked down the hallway, trying to maintain some sense of normalcy after everything they had lost.

A new transfer student stood at the front office, filling out paperwork. She was elegant, with long silver hair and calm, intelligent eyes. The name on her file read Sally Dogder.

Kevin froze. The name hit him like a punch to the gut. Wyatt's eyes widened too — they both remembered Nathan's final act before his sacrifice: burning all of R. Dogder's clone bodies… except one.

Sally turned and noticed them. A soft, almost familiar smile crossed her face.

"Hi," she said politely. "I'm new here. Sally Dogder. Just moved from out of town."

Kevin's Matrix pulsed faintly beneath his shirt. He studied her carefully. There was no malice in her eyes — only quiet curiosity and a strange gentleness that felt… engineered.

Wyatt forced a smile. "Welcome to Willowbrook. It's… been interesting lately."

Sally tilted her head slightly, as if sensing something deeper. "I've heard rumors about this school. Strange things happening. Missing people. I hope I'm not walking into trouble."

Kevin met her gaze. "Trouble seems to find us."

For a brief moment, something passed between them — a flicker of recognition. Nathan's last mercy. A second chance given to the ghost of their greatest enemy.

Sally smiled again, warmer this time. "Then maybe we can face it together."

As she walked away toward her next class, Kevin and Wyatt exchanged a heavy look.

"You think Nathan…?" Wyatt whispered.

Kevin nodded slowly. "He gave her a chance. We should at least give her one too."

But deep down, both boys wondered — was Sally Dogder truly free from her "brother's" shadow?
