Chapter 5 - ch 2 part 2

Shanti approached Aarya after class, her smile friendly. "Hey, want to grab some chaat with me? I've heard the vendors outside Gurukul make the best ones."

Aarya's surprise showed for a moment before she nodded. As they walked, Shanti asked about Aarya's interests. Aarya's eyes lit up talking about astronomy.

The System whispered, "Tying bonds with Aarya. Interesting strategy, Shanti."

Shanti smiled, listening to Aarya. Maybe changing fate started with small connections.

Aarya's smile began to falter as Shanti asked about her favorite stars. "How do you know about astronomy?" Aarya's voice turned guarded.

Shanti laughed casually. "I overheard you talking to Shishtanand. Sounds fascinating."

Aarya's eyes narrowed slightly. "Not many people find it interesting."

The System whispered, "Aarya's getting suspicious, Shanti. Tread carefully."

Shanti's smile never wipped, even as her heart skipped a beat. "Just curious, Aarya. You seem passionate about astronomy. I'd love to learn more."

Aarya's gaze lingered, as if searching for something beneath Shanti's words. "My family's been supporting Gurukul for generations. I've had access to the best resources."

The tension hung in the air, Shanti's mind racing for a way to shift the conversation. "Speaking of resources, I heard there's a rare manuscript in the Gurukul library on celestial mapping. Have you seen it?"

Aarya's expression eased slightly. "Yes, it's in the restricted section. Shishtanand's the only one who can access it."

Shanti nodded thoughtfully. "Maybe he could show it to us sometime."

Flashback to teenage Shanti's bedroom (16), surrounded by posters of female scientists and mathematicians. Shanti scribbled notes on a fanfic page, her face flushed with excitement. "Aarya and I solving equations together... we'd change the world."

Shanti slammed the notebook shut, hiding it under her pillow as her mom knocked.

Back to present. Aarya leaned back, eyes still watchful. "I'll mention it to Shishtanand. But Sayan... don't get too curious. Some secrets aren't meant to be uncovered."

Shanti's smile played along, hiding her racing thoughts. Aarya was definitely suspicious.

The System whispered, "Aarya's got instincts, Shanti. You've got to be careful."

Shanti turned the conversation light, asking Aarya about Gurukul's upcoming star-gazing festival. Aarya's face lit up, and for a moment, Shanti saw the girl she'd fantasized about - passionate, carefree.

As they parted ways, Shanti wondered: had she slipped up, or was Aarya just curious? Either way, the game was on.

Aarya watched Shanti leave, her eyes narrowing. "System, can you dig up anything on Sayan?"

The System replied, "Already on it, Aarya. But this one's different. Sayan's got layers."

Aarya's smile twisted. "I like layers."

Shanti, meanwhile, slipped into a quiet corner, her mind whirling. She needed to manage this carefully - Aarya was sharp, and one wrong move could blow her cover.

The System whispered, "Shanti, Aarya's digging. What next?"

Shanti's eyes sparkled with determination. "Time to turn the tables."

As night fell over Gurukul, shadows moved, alliances formed, and the battle for the truth began.

Aarya returned to her chambers, her mind racing with possibilities. Sayan was hiding something, and she was determined to find out what.

Shanti slipped into the night, her eyes on the stars. She had a manuscript to find, and a secret to keep.

The night air was thick with intrigue as Shanti and Aarya moved through the shadows, each with their own secrets, each with their own agenda.

Shanti was sitting in her room when the System's voice echoed. "Shanti, your actions could put Aarya in danger. You know how ruthless she can be."

Shanti looked up, her eyes stubborn. "I'll handle it, System. I want to change Aarya."

The System scolded, "Change her? You can't change her, Shanti. You can only change your own story. Aarya's role is set."

Shanti's voice rose. "No, System. I'll save her. She's not what you think she is."

The System's voice turned cold. "Your emotions are blinding you, Shanti. Aarya has power, and she'll use it. You need to be careful."

Shanti bowed her head, eyes closed. "I understand, System. But I'll try."

The System sighed. "I'll support you, Shanti. But remember, the outcome isn't in your hands."

Shanti looked up, her eyes determined. "I'm ready, System. I'll save Aarya."
