Peter personally clipped the hair accessory onto Gwen's soft, short blonde hair and explained:
"It's called 'Shun Shun Rikka' (Shield of the Standing Six Flowers). It's a divine artifact I just acquired, and I think it suits you perfectly!"
The moment his words fell, the hair clip melted into Gwen's hair, vanishing from sight.
Gwen felt a warm, marvelous energy surge into her body, and a sudden influx of information regarding "rejection" and "healing" flooded her mind.
Noticing Gwen's expression as she processed the information, Peter smiled faintly and said:
"Give it a try. Trust me, its effect will definitely blow your mind."
Hearing this, Gwen nodded instinctively. She reached out her hand and tried to chant:
"Hinagiku, Baigon, Lily! Santen Kesshun, I reject!"
The moment she finished her chant, three glowing pinpricks of light flew out from her hair, condensing in the blink of an eye into a triangular, orange light shield right in front of her.
Gwen curiously examined the glowing shield before her. After a brief hesitation, she threw a fist reinforced by her Vibranium suit straight at it!
BANG!
With a heavy boom, ripples cascaded across the surface of the light shield. But once the ripples settled, not even a single hairline fracture appeared on it.
"This..."
Gwen couldn't help but daze for a moment, her beautiful eyes completely filled with delight!
As a friendly neighborhood protector of New York, she could already foresee how many lives she could prevent from being lost now that she possessed this power.
While she was still reveling in the joy of the Shun Shun Rikka's abilities, Peter quietly wrapped his arms around her slender waist from behind. Leaning close to her ear, he whispered, "Do you like it?"
"Needless to say! Do you know? I used to dream of having the same ability as you to conjure shields and heal others... If I had that, I could save so many more people who could have been saved."
Reaching this point, Gwen couldn't resist turning her head to press her lips against Peter's. After a long, breathless moment, she panted softly:
"Peter, I must express my gratitude on behalf of the citizens of New York."
"If anyone's expressing gratitude, it should be me thanking you! I could never do what you do, serving the citizens of New York twenty-four hours a day."
Saying this, Peter scooped Gwen up in his arms, a somewhat roguish smile playing on his lips:
"Though... my way of expressing gratitude isn't quite so casual!"
After spending several hours working hard at Gwen's house—truly expressing his deep "appreciation" to her on behalf of New York's citizens—Peter pulled out the Eye of Aurora and teleported directly to Felicia's apartment.
Felicia was currently sitting in front of her vanity mirror doing her skincare routine. Seeing Peter suddenly materialize, she was startled first, but then she immediately approached with a grin, sniffing around Peter's neck like a curious kitten:
"My, my There's quite a strong scent of Gwen on you. I guess even between the first and second wives, there's a clear line of status"
Seeing her deliberately putting on the dramatic act of a neglected housewife, Peter found it amusing and gave her bumper a light slap:
"Drop the act, or next time I might just head straight over to Sif's."
Felicia wasn't angry in the slightest upon hearing this. Instead, she continued her theatrical lament:
"Sigh~ It seems all men under the heavens are the same, always loving the new and tiring of the old. You've finally spoken your true thoughts out loud—mmph!"
Before she could even finish her sentence, Peter, losing the patience to play along with her drama, directly and roughly sealed her lips, initiating his punishment round for the dramatic little wildcat.
It wasn't until the little wildcat was meowing and pleading, "Master, I was wrong~" that Peter finally let her off. He then reached into his storage ring and pulled out the Ten Rings, sliding them onto Felicia's arms.
In an instant, an ancient and violent surge of energy flooded Felicia's body. The previously dull Ten Rings, upon bonding with their new master, instantly turned crystal clear, their aesthetic appeal immediately reaching the absolute maximum.
Feeling the colossal energy coursing through her arms, Felicia instinctively threw a punch toward her private courtyard.
BOOM!
A violent sonic boom ruptured the air. Though it was just a casual punch, the terrifying shockwave tore the entire courtyard to shreds, leaving behind a massive crater several dozen meters in diameter on the ground.
"Wow~" Seeing this raw destructive power, Felicia's eyes instantly sparkled.
Her previous combat style leaned heavily toward speed and crowd control. Now, with the raw amplification of the Ten Rings, she had finally slotted in the final puzzle piece: destructive power.
Talk about a perfect, well-rounded goddess! (Tactical lean back)
"Do you like them?" Peter whispered in her ear.
"I absolutely love them," Felicia turned around immediately, her eyes full of seductive charm as she took the initiative to kiss him.
Seeing her like this, Peter could only wryly smile in his heart. He had originally planned to find some time to visit Sif and Natasha tonight, but looking at the situation now, it seemed he wouldn't be able to pull himself away tonight~
While Peter was busy deepening his bond with Felicia.
Deep in the vast, silent reaches of space, atop a colossal floating throne, a muscular figure with purple skin and a deeply furrowed chin was resting with his eyes closed.
This person was none other than the sovereign of Titan, the Mad Titan Thanos.
Even though he was merely sitting there in absolute silence, the very air around him seemed to tremble under his oppressive presence.
"My Lord," Ebony Maw, wearing his elegant tailcoat and standing in a respectful but somewhat grotesque posture, knelt submissively beneath the throne and spoke with a deep frown.
"That little princess of Asgard is far more cowardly than I anticipated. He has been thoroughly scared out of his wits by a single Earthling, and he is absolutely unwilling to go to Earth to steal the Space Stone and open the portal."
"Oh?"
Thanos, who had been resting with his eyes closed, slowly opened them. A glint of intrigue surfaced in his emerald-green eyes.
"Even if that fellow doesn't possess true Asgardian blood, he is still the offspring of a Frost Giant. How could he possibly fear a mere Earthling? Bring him to me."
"Understood!"
A moment later, Loki was dragged in, heavily guarded by two Chitauri soldiers.
At this moment, where was the elegance the God of Mischief once possessed in Asgard? His clothes were tattered, his hair was a messy nest, and he looked far more wretched than a common beggar.
"Loki."
Thanos spoke slowly, his voice carrying a calm, refined dignity that contrasted sharply with his massive, imposing build:
"When you had nowhere left to run, it was I who disregarded the pressure of Asgard and took you in without hesitation."
"Yet now, you are unwilling to accomplish even a single, insignificant task for me?"
"You must give me a reasonable explanation!"
His voice sounded polite and steady, but the terrifying authority laced within it sent shivers down the spine.
Loki gazed up at the towering Thanos in front of him, instinctively comparing him in his mind to that arrogant, terrifyingly powerful Earthling.
He couldn't help but mutter to himself:
This guy named Thanos is definitely the strongest being I have ever laid eyes upon in my life, second only to my father and that Peter Parker. Furthermore, he possesses an endless, unstoppable army... perhaps this guy can actually defeat that monster of Midgard?
