When the girl starts looking for a seat, all the boys begin making empty space for her.
Some of them quickly clean their benches, hoping she'll sit with them. Others—even those who already have partners—push their partners off just to free up a spot beside her.
But the girl… sits beside him.
Everyone starts staring at him—some with curiosity, others with a mix of anger and jealousy.
Inside his mind, he speaks to himself:
"Why did she sit beside me? I'm sure I'll lose my privacy now…"
The girl turns to him with a smile and says,
"Hello, my name is Prapti. I'm kind of a quiet and simple girl, but I really enjoy talking. I also have a lot of interest in mysteries."
He smiles back and gives his introduction.
"I'm Rahat."
She notices he is wearing gloves in this hot summer, which is definitely strange. She wants to ask about them, but just as she's about to—
—the teacher walks in, and she misses her chance.
During the lunch break, she starts looking for him and eventually finds him on the rooftop, lost in thought.
She walks closer and says,
"Hey, what are you thinking about so deeply?"
He replies,
"Nothing much… just thinking about today's work that I need to go to."
She looks confused for a second, then suddenly lights up in excitement.
"Wow! You work? But… I have a question—why?"
He sighs with sadness and answers,
"I have no one who can take care of me. My father died before I was born. My mother passed away a few years ago… and I lost someone precious, also a few years back."
Inside his mind, he quietly says:
"But… maybe now I have someone."
She sighs softly in sadness.
But then, she becomes serious and asks,
"I have a question. Why do you wear those gloves in this hot summer?"
He replies,
"It's a long story… and I don't want to talk about it. Sorry."
Her expression falls a little—but then she suddenly perks up and asks,
"Can I come see your work?"
He is shocked.
"Why?"
She smiles.
"Because you have something that's unique. And yeah… can I be your friend?"
He nods his head and says,
"Yes."
In the afternoon, she comes with him to his workplace and helps him a lot.
While they're working, they don't even realize how much time has passed—
—it's already night.
He says with a small smile,
"Hmm, you worked with me so much today… so from now on, ice cream's on me!"
She laughs, her face lighting up with happiness.
"Then chocolate for me!"
They both get ice cream and sit down together, continuing to work side by side.
After a while, he asks,
"By the way… why do you help me so much?"
She replies casually,
"Hmm… nothing much. My heart just wanted to."
He looks at her and thanks her again for all the help.
Then he says,
"Let me drop you home. It's already late."
She nods in agreement and thanks him.
When they reach her home—
—they suddenly realize they're neighbors.
Both of them are shocked and say at the same time,
"How?!"
They look at each other, surprised by the timing.
It's kind of funny, and they both start to laugh.
Then suddenly, she says,
"Listen… you live alone, right? So yeah—come over to my room tomorrow morning. We can eat breakfast together!"
He tries to refuse,
"You've already done so much for me…"
But she insists and manages to convince him anyway.
Before leaving, she gives him her number, waves at him with a smile, and says,
"Bye, see you tomorrow!"
Then she leaves.
He stands there alone for a moment.
He speaks to himself:
"To be honest… I've found someone. Maybe she's not completely like you… but she cares. And don't worry about me… enjoy wherever you are now."
He sighs in quiet sadness and heads back inside.
Day by day, they grow closer.
They become like best friends—maybe even more.
But the other students, especially the boys, don't like it.
They always tell him to stay away from her.
But he doesn't care about them at all.
One day, while he is washing his face…
He looks into the mirror—and something strange happens.
His reflection… moves.
It doesn't match his real movements.
Then it speaks.
"How are you?" it asks with a cold grin.
"You're doing quite well, huh? Living the good life.
You wake up and have breakfast at Prapti's house,
She makes your lunch for school,
Sometimes she even gives you a massage after dinner…"
He listens silently, then smiles a little.
"That's true, but—"
The reflection cuts him off sharply.
"But nothing.
You're living while she's trapped inside you.
You've trapped Prapti—using your charm."
He frowns, his voice rising in anger.
"What the hell are you trying to say?"
The reflection's tone grows harsher.
"I'm saying the truth. Look at yourself.
Do you really think you're worthy of her?
You have no future, no real life.
You're nothing more than an ordinary, low-class boy.
And her? She's beautiful, intelligent, talented… athletic.
You're manipulating her.
You made her your puppet.
Just… leave her."
And just like that—
The reflection disappears.
He is left staring at his own reflection.
Silence.
He starts to think,
"Am I… manipulating her?"
But she did all those things by herself.
No one forced her.
She wanted to.
Right?
Then why… why does he feel guilty?
Maybe the reflection was right.
Maybe he shouldn't be this close to her.
Maybe… she's too kind to say it to his face.
But still—
He will tell her. He will tell her to stop doing all of this for him.
Tears form in his eyes.
And he whispers in his heart to someone who's no longer there:
"To be honest… you knew it.
Without you… no one else could ever care for me like that."
After finishing work, they walk back to their apartment.
On the way, he asks her,
"Did you face any problems during today's work?"
She smiles brightly and replies,
"Nope. I actually enjoyed it. I like working with you."
He looks at her and asks,
"Isn't it… bothering you?"
She raises an eyebrow, half-jokingly,
"Excuse me? You're the one being annoying now.
What's going on in that head of yours? Just tell me."
He hesitates for a moment, then finally speaks,
"Hmm… I was just thinking… maybe it's bothering you.
No—I mean… I feel like I'm taking advantage of your kindness.
By telling you my sad story, maybe I made you feel bad for me.
Like I'm manipulating you… and I really don't want to be that kind of person."
She laughs softly at first, but then her expression turns serious.
"Then listen carefully," she says,
"I don't have parents either.
And I'm not good at everything—especially marketing.
To be honest, you help me a lot in that.
And not just that—you've helped me in many ways.
But that's not why I'm helping you.
You're like me.
I know the kind of pain and suffering you've been through—
because I've faced it too.
So I just want to help. That's it.
And yeah… thanks for telling me how you feel.
But don't ever think like that again, okay?"
He smiles gently and nods.
They reach their apartment building.
She waves and goes to her room, while he enters his.
In his room, he sees a message from Sumaya:
"I am still waiting for you."
Seeing this message, he can't understand what to do. So he goes to the bathroom and starts to wash his face.
After refreshing himself, he lies down on his bed.
His mind drifts back…
To a girl from his past.
And slowly, sleep takes over.
In his dream, he begins to relive that past.
