Chapter 8 - Things Getting Complicated

I had come to one conclusion.

This class was full of weird people.

And somehow…

I was stuck right in the middle of all of them.

"Why me…" I sighed, resting my chin on my hand.

To my left—

Luna sat quietly, her eyes on the board.

Silent.

Unreadable.

As if nothing in the world concerned her.

To my right—

Kiara was casually scrolling through her phone, completely ignoring the lecture.

And behind me…

I could feel it.

That presence.

The attitude girl.

"This is a nightmare," I muttered.

"You complain a lot."

I flinched.

Luna's voice.

I turned toward her.

"You can hear me?" I asked.

"I can hear unnecessary noise," she replied calmly.

"…Wow."

Savage.

"You're still here," she added.

"That's… usually how school works."

"You ignored my warning."

Her tone didn't change.

Not even a little.

I frowned.

"You expect me to just leave college because you said so?"

"Yes."

"…You're serious?"

She looked at me.

Directly.

And for a moment—

I felt that same pressure again.

"I don't repeat myself," she said.

Before I could respond—

"Aww, are you two bonding already?"

Kiara suddenly leaned forward, resting her arms on my desk from the other side.

"Does it look like bonding to you?" I said.

"More like a threat," she smirked.

Luna's gaze shifted to her.

Silence.

Kiara smiled back.

Like she didn't care at all.

Interesting.

Very interesting.

"Careful," Kiara said lightly, "you might scare him away."

"That would be ideal," Luna replied.

"Rude," I muttered.

Kiara laughed.

"You're getting bullied from both sides," she whispered to me.

"Thanks for pointing that out."

"You're welcome."

Before things could escalate—

"Ayaan!"

A familiar voice called out.

I turned.

Meera was standing near the door, smiling slightly.

"Do you want to have lunch together?" she asked.

For a moment…

Everything felt normal again.

"Yeah, sure," I replied.

"Cute," Kiara whispered.

"Shut up."

But just as I stood up—

"I'll come too."

I froze.

That voice.

Luna.

"…You what?" I turned to her.

"I said, I'll come too," she repeated.

Calm.

Simple.

Like it was the most normal thing in the world.

This was not normal.

At all.

Kiara's smile widened.

"Oh, this is going to be fun."

"No, it's not," I said instantly.

"Yes, it is."

Meanwhile, Meera looked slightly surprised.

"Um… sure," she said politely.

And just like that—

The four of us started walking together.

Me.

Meera.

Luna.

Kiara.

Four completely different people.

Four completely different energies.

And somehow…

All of them connected to me.

"This feels like a disaster waiting to happen," I muttered.

Kiara leaned closer.

"Relax," she whispered.

"I'll make sure it's entertaining."

"That's exactly what I'm worried about."

Ahead of us, Meera walked quietly.

Beside me, Luna remained silent.

Behind me, Kiara was clearly enjoying everything.

And in that moment—

I realized something.

This wasn't just coincidence anymore.

There was a pattern.

A reason.

I just didn't know what it was yet.

But one thing was certain—

My life had officially become complicated.

Very complicated.
