Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: xenocides

Recruitment into the Xenocides was never supposed to be simple.

Elias found that out the hard way.

Officially, he was a member now—but the way he'd been recruited was… weird. it was the way the others were recruited but a single sentence burned into his memory:

"you rushed in to save someone without hesitation then you belong here."

 10th Division Base — 7:00 AM

CLINNNNNNNN—

The siren screamed through the steel halls, sharp and unforgiving.

Elias shot upright on the bed, heart pounding.

Red emergency lights flared to life, washing the room in warning tones. Around him, doors slid open as his new comrade poured into the corridor, boots striking metal in perfect rhythm.

A synthetic voice echoed overhead.

"ALERT. XENO BREACH CONFIRMED. ALL XENOCIDE UNITS TO SECTOR SEVEN."

Elias grabbed his combat jacket and sprinted.

So this was it.

His first mission.

Sector Seven

The armory doors hissed open, revealing a group already waiting.

Five figures.

Each one different. Each one dangerous.

A short woman leaned against a weapons rack, twin plasma magnetized to her back. Her eyes flicked to Elias.

"New guy," she said flatly.

A bulky soldier with reinforced armor let out a low chuckle. "Hope he runs fast."

Another—quiet, hooded, guy —said nothing, already getting ready for the mission,

Elias swallowed.

Before he could speak, the captain of the 10th division stepped forward.

"Listen up, Xenocides. A Class-V alien pack has breached Sector Seven. Urban zone. Civilian risk high."

The captain's gaze locked onto Elias.

"Walker. You're deploying with them."

The woman raised an eyebrow. "First mission?"

Elias nodded.

She smirked. "Try not to die."

Sector 7 — Drop Zone

The transport slammed down through the clouds, engines roaring.

The city below was a blend of ancient ruins and neon towers—humanity rebuilt on the scars of a thousand-year war.

The ramp dropped.

Alien screeches echoed through the streets.

Elias stepped forward, his eyes filled with rage ,

Then—movement.

A shadow lunged from the smoke.

Elias reacted on instinct.

He punched .

The alien collapsed, as its energy core destabilized.

Silence.

The team stared at him.

The bulky soldier nodded once. "wow I didn't know you were this strong"

The tech-visor Xenocide finally spoke. "Reaction time's good."

The woman grinned. "Looks like recruitment wasn't a mistake."

Elias exhaled slowly, but all he wanted was vengeance,

Sector Seven — Inner District

Smoke drifted between shattered towers as the team advanced.

"all right team let's kill them all." the woman said, already moving.

They all scattered into the areas , killing any aleins they come across,. Elias rushed in to save a man who was almost eaten by the aleins and killed them all, as he was going to the next location,That earned him a quick glance.

"Name's NYX ," she said while walking. "Blades, close combat, squad lead when command's not breathing down our necks."

The bulky soldier tapped his chest plate. "Rook. Heavy weapons."

The quiet one adjusted his visor. "Cipher. Recon and tech."

A fourth member, slim and calm with a long-range rifle, finally spoke from the rear. "Vela. I cover what you miss."

Elias nodded. "Elias. Walker."

Nyx smirked. "Yeah, we know."

The Trap

Cipher suddenly raised a fist.

"Movement," he said. "Too quiet."

That's when the ground shifted.

The street split open as alien constructs erupted upward—sleek, angular, glowing with the same light that once burned the old world a thousand years ago.

"Ambush!" Rook roared.

Nyx didn't hesitate. "Walker—on me!"

Elias stood, " come I'm going to kill every last one of ya".

An alien lunged from the side, claws slicing the air where his head had been. Elias used a technique which kael taught it creates after images, The aliens hesitated, confused by the afterimages as Elias cut through them one by one., his fast , focused ,creature cried in pain —as they died .

Nyx was surprised

Her face filled with excitement "trying have all the fun no way ", she jumped in to help Elias , the rest of the team rushed to get out any civilians in the area , " get them all out" Reid said on top of his voice

More screeches echoed

Too many.

Vela's rifle cracked from above, precise and cold. Cipher deployed drones that lit the streets with tactical overlays.

Still, the aliens kept coming.

Then Elias felt it.

A pressure in the air.

Something bigger.

The Alpha

From the smoke emerged a towering alien—taller than the rest, armor fused into its body, eyes burning white.

Cipher's voice tightened. "b ranked Alpha confirmed."

Nyx smirked . "big papa finally joined "

The Alpha charged.

The ground cracked beneath its weight as it thundered forward, every step shaking the street. Its white-burning eyes locked onto Elias like a predator that had finally found worthy prey.

Nyx's smiled "yes let's get this party started", rolling her shoulders

The Alpha roared and slammed its fist down.

Nyx vanished.

In the same instant, Elias felt the world snap.

Space folded.

He reappeared mid-air—then landed hard on the hood of an armored combat car parked nearby.

"What—?!" Elias barked.

Nyx appeared beside him in a blur, already sliding into the driver's seat.

"Field trip," she said. "We're luring it away from the civilians."

The engine screamed to life.

The Alpha turned, enraged, and gave chase.

Nyx slammed the accelerator.

High-Speed Chaos

The car tore through Sector Seven's ruined streets, neon signs flashing past as debris flew.

The Alpha kept up.

It leapt.

Its massive form crashed onto the road behind them, claws digging deep, gaining ground.

Nyx leaned out the window, plasma pistols blazing.

Blue-white shots ripped through the air, slamming into the Alpha's armor.

"Come on!" she shouted, laughing. "Chase us!"

Elias grabbed the side of the car, heart pounding.

"This is insane!"

Nyx fired again. "i know right ."

The Alpha roared and slammed its arm down—missing the car by inches.

Nyx swerved sharply.

"Walker!" she yelled. "Take the wheel!"

Elias froze. "Wait—what?"

She vaulted over the seat in one smooth motion, landing on the roof of the moving car.

"I've never driven!" Elias shouted.

Nyx crouched above him, grinning wildly.

"Go with the flow!"

She leapt.

Nyx used her evoliths—vanishing mid-air and reappearing on the Alpha's shoulder.

She kicked off, chaining another jump, flipping through space like gravity didn't apply to her.

Elias swallowed hard.

Then grabbed the wheel.

"Okay," he muttered. "Okay… I got this."

The Alpha slammed into the street again.

Elias turned sharply, barely avoiding a crash, adrenaline flooding his system.

Nyx reappeared beside the Alpha, blades igniting.

"Walker!" she shouted. "Line it up!"

Elias glanced at the road ahead—an open stretch, no civilians, no buildings.

Perfect.

He floored it.

Nyx jumped—once, twice—then reappeared inside the car, slamming the door shut.

"NOW!"

Elias jerked the wheel.

The Alpha lunged—

—and overextended.

Its balance broke.

It crashed hard into the street, skidding across the pavement.

Nyx smirked. "Nice driving for a guy who 'never drove.'"

Elias breathed hard, eyes locked on the fallen monster.

"Guess I learn fast."

Behind them, the rest of the team's voices crackled through the comms.

"Civilians clear," Rook reported.

"Area secured," Vela added.

Nyx cracked her knuckles.

"Good," she said. "Now we finish this."

Elias stepped out of the car, rage burning steady in his eyes.

The Alpha rose again.

And Elias walked toward it—unafraid.
