"Saeko-senpai, you ready?"
Shuya looked at the purple-haired swordswoman, voice steady.
"Finally… it's time."
Saeko's violet eyes sharpened. She flexed her fingers in the air—crack, crack, crack—knuckles popping like firecrackers. A long, satisfied breath left her lips, and the corner of her mouth curved into a pure, predatory smile.
"I've been waiting for this day."
The moment the words left her, an indescribable aura exploded from her body.
The elegant kendo captain who usually looked like a graceful noblewoman vanished. In her place stood something far more dangerous—like a demonic blade finally sliding free of its sheath, thirsting for blood.
"Perfect."
Shuya nodded. He glanced at Rei and Saya still inside the infirmary, then turned to the blonde nurse. "Shizuka-nee!"
"Yes~!"
Shizuka snapped into a perfect little salute—meow salute.jpg.
"Keep an eye on these two for me," Shuya ordered.
"Mission accepted!" Shizuka thumped her chest confidently, massive assets bouncing with the motion.
Shuya looked back at Saeko. "Then let's go, Saeko-senpai."
Without waiting for a reply, he hopped onto the windowsill and leaped straight down from the third floor.
"Shuya?!"
Rei's face went white. She rushed to the window and stuck her head out, heart hammering.
The infirmary was on the third floor—nearly six meters up! How could he just jump like that?!
But a second later she saw him standing calmly on the ground below, completely unharmed. He even waved up at her with a casual grin, telling her he was fine.
Rei finally let out the breath she'd been holding.
"Miyamoto, you haven't touched Nen yet. Just watch and learn," Saeko said softly, patting the younger girl's shoulder.
Then she too stepped onto the windowsill.
Before jumping, though, she cupped her hands around her mouth and called down playfully, "Shuya-kun, I'm coming down~ You'd better catch me, or your senpai is going to get very angry."
Shuya chuckled.
Three floors? For a Nen user like Saeko it was nothing. She could land perfectly fine without help.
But if she wanted him to catch her?
Then he'd catch her.
He spread his arms. "Don't worry. I've got you."
Saeko brushed a strand of purple hair from her temple, smiled, rose lightly on her toes, and jumped.
Her body floated down like a butterfly, skirt fluttering but somehow never flipping up—completely ignoring the laws of physics. Newton was probably screaming from his grave.
A soft, fragrant breeze hit Shuya first. Then warm, supple weight filled his arms.
Saeko landed perfectly against his chest.
"Shuya-kun really didn't lie~ I'm very satisfied, so I've decided to give you a little reward later."
She rested both hands on his shoulders, leaned in, and whispered right against his ear.
Shuya glanced around. Zombies were already shuffling closer, drawn by the noise. "Save it for later. We've got company."
Saeko noticed the incoming horde too and pouted cutely. "How boring. Fine… I'll remember."
"I'm coming for you all!"
She raised one hand.
Reizan instantly materialized in the air—black blade covered in glowing purple runes. Saeko gripped the hilt with one hand while gently stroking the flat of the blade with the other.
"Reizan… I'm sure you've been waiting for this day just as much as I have, right?"
It wasn't clear if she was talking to herself or to the sword.
But Reizan answered—its edge trembled, purple mist swirling around the runes like it was alive.
"Then, monsters… are you ready to be my test subjects?"
Saeko's eyes narrowed at the approaching zombies. Her fingers tightened on the hilt.
If you looked closely, her whole body was trembling.
Not from fear.
From pure, bone-deep excitement.
In chuuni terms: Saeko Busujima was officially burning up.
She hurled Reizan forward.
The blade flashed, piercing straight through the lead zombie's skull.
Saeko stepped in, yanked the sword free in one smooth motion, and followed with a perfect drawing slash.
Shing!
An entire row of zombie heads flew into the air and hit the ground in a neat line.
In the blink of an eye, countless undead had already fallen.
Saeko licked her lips. The blood splattering the pavement was vivid red, but it couldn't compare to the vivid, intoxicating beauty of the girl in the moonlight.
More zombies poured in.
Delight. Pure, overwhelming delight.
This feeling—being able to kill without restraint—was exactly what she had always craved.
Under the moon, her figure was breathtakingly gorgeous.
She wasn't just fighting. She was dancing.
Every graceful shift of her body left several more corpses behind.
Before battle, Saeko had felt like a sheathed blade ready to explode.
Now that she was actually fighting, that raw edge was gone. Instead she looked like a pure white spirit dancing beneath the moonlight—elegant, beautiful… and lethally sharp.
Shuya watched her graceful form under the moon and couldn't stop the shiver running through him.
Part of it was awe at how stunning she looked.
The bigger part was the flood of Nen pouring into him through their contract.
Every single kill Saeko made sent a massive surge of aura straight into his body. In just these few minutes he had already gained what would have taken him months of normal training.
The feeling of power rocketing upward like a missile?
Shuya's enjoyment was easily on the same level as Saeko's.
Watching her fight made his own hands itch to join in.
But he held back.
First, his battle lust wasn't nearly as intense as hers.
Second, zombies carried a powerful infection. Even though Nen users probably had some resistance, he wasn't willing to gamble.
He had warned Saeko beforehand, but who knew if she'd get too lost in the thrill and forget?
So for now, Shuya stayed back—watching, guarding, ready to step in the instant anything went wrong.
He was her support.
Her guardian.
And he was perfectly happy letting his ultra-rare UR wife enjoy the slaughter while he reaped the rewards.
