Chapter 6 - Chapter 6: The One They Can't Control

"When something refuses to be controlled… it becomes dangerous."

"The moment you hesitate… you lose control."

---

Arjun didn't answer.

---

But something inside him—

had already started changing.

---

The man's words echoed in his mind.

---

"You're the key."

---

Key to what?

---

To survival?

---

To control?

---

Or something worse?

---

Arjun clenched his fists.

---

"I'm not yours."

---

The man smiled faintly.

---

"You misunderstand."

---

A step closer.

---

"I don't own you."

---

A pause.

---

"I simply understand what you are."

---

Arjun's eyes narrowed.

---

"Then explain."

---

Silence.

---

The man studied him carefully.

---

Like he was looking beyond flesh.

Beyond blood.

---

Into something deeper.

---

"Tell me," he said quietly.

---

"When that Hunter looked at you…"

---

"Why didn't you feel fear?"

---

Arjun froze.

---

Because—

---

he had noticed that too.

---

It wasn't fear.

---

It wasn't panic.

---

It was something else.

---

Familiar.

---

Uncomfortable.

---

"I don't know," Arjun said.

---

The man nodded slightly.

---

"Exactly."

---

A pause.

---

"You don't know what you are yet."

---

Arjun stepped forward.

---

"And you do?"

---

The man didn't hesitate.

---

"Yes."

---

Silence.

---

"Then say it."

---

The air grew heavy.

---

Then—

---

"You are evolving."

---

Arjun's heart skipped.

---

"No."

---

The man didn't argue.

---

"You're not becoming like them."

---

A pause.

---

"You're becoming something between."

---

Arjun shook his head.

---

"That's impossible."

---

The man tilted his head slightly.

---

"Then explain why it didn't kill you."

---

Silence.

---

Arjun had no answer.

---

Because deep down—

---

he knew that was true.

---

It had chances.

Many.

---

And yet—

---

it didn't.

---

"You're lying," Arjun muttered.

---

The man stepped even closer.

---

"No."

---

A pause.

---

"I'm observing."

---

Suddenly—

---

A loud roar echoed from outside the tower.

---

Closer than before.

---

Arjun's body tensed instantly.

---

"That's the Hunter…"

---

The man glanced toward the door.

---

"Yes."

---

A pause.

---

"And it's calling."

---

Arjun's eyes widened.

---

"Calling?"

---

Before the man could respond—

---

BOOM!

---

The tower shook violently.

---

Dust fell from above.

---

Another impact.

---

Closer.

---

Stronger.

---

BOOM!

---

Arjun turned toward the entrance.

---

"It's breaking in!"

---

The man didn't panic.

---

Didn't move.

---

Didn't react.

---

He simply watched.

---

"Good," he said quietly.

---

Arjun snapped toward him.

---

"GOOD?!"

---

"Perfect timing."

---

Arjun's grip tightened.

---

"What the hell is wrong with you—"

---

CRASH!

---

The entrance door exploded inward.

---

Metal tore apart.

---

Concrete shattered.

---

And from the dust—

---

it stepped in.

---

The Hunter.

---

Blood covered its body.

---

But its eyes—

---

locked onto Arjun.

---

Again.

---

Always him.

---

Arjun's breath slowed.

---

Not fear.

---

That same feeling.

---

Recognition.

---

The Hunter didn't attack.

---

Didn't rush.

---

It simply walked forward.

---

Slow.

---

Deliberate.

---

Ignoring everything else.

---

Ignoring the man.

---

Ignoring the room.

---

Only focused on him.

---

"See?" the man said quietly.

---

"It came to you."

---

Arjun didn't respond.

---

Because now—

---

he felt it clearly.

---

Something pulling.

---

Something connecting.

---

The Hunter stopped just a few feet away.

---

Silence filled the room.

---

Arjun raised his rod slightly.

---

Not to attack.

---

But to steady himself.

---

"What do you want…?" he asked.

---

The Hunter tilted its head.

---

Then—

---

it spoke.

---

Broken.

---

Distorted.

---

"…Come…"

---

Arjun froze.

---

The man behind him didn't move.

---

"Listen carefully," he whispered.

---

"Don't reject it."

---

Arjun ignored him.

---

"What do you mean… come?"

---

The Hunter took one more step forward.

---

Close now.

---

Too close.

---

"…You… same…"

---

Arjun's heartbeat pounded.

---

"No."

---

"I'm not like you."

---

The Hunter's eyes flickered.

---

Then—

---

it reached out.

---

Slowly.

---

Not to attack.

---

But to touch.

---

Arjun's instincts screamed.

---

Move.

Run.

Fight.

---

But his body—

---

didn't respond.

---

Like something was holding him still.

---

Forcing him to stay.

---

The Hunter's fingers—

---

stopped inches from his face.

---

Then—

---

suddenly—

---

It recoiled.

---

Violently.

---

Like it felt something.

---

Something stronger than itself.

---

A sharp screech escaped it.

---

The man stepped forward instantly.

---

"Interesting…"

---

Arjun stumbled back.

---

"What just happened?!"

---

The Hunter growled.

---

But this time—

---

it wasn't aggression.

---

It was confusion.

---

Fear.

---

Arjun stared at his own hands.

---

Shaking.

---

"What… is happening to me…?"

---

The man smiled.

---

This time—

---

with certainty.

---

"It's starting."

---

Silence.

---

"Starting what?"

---

The man looked at him.

---

Directly.

---

"Your transformation."

---

Arjun's blood ran cold.

---

"I'm not turning into one of them."

---

The man shook his head slowly.

---

"No."

---

A pause.

---

"You're becoming something they can't control."

---

Outside—

---

another roar echoed.

---

Different.

---

Louder.

---

Stronger.

---

Arjun felt it.

---

Something bigger was coming.

---

And somehow—

---

it was connected to him.

---

The Hunter stepped back.

---

Still watching him.

---

Still confused.

---

Then—

---

it retreated.

---

Slowly.

---

Like it didn't understand what it had just seen.

---

The room fell silent again.

---

Arjun stood there.

---

Breathing heavily.

---

Heart racing.

---

Mind breaking.

---

"What am I…?" he whispered.

---

The man turned away.

---

Walking back into the darkness.

---

"You'll find out soon enough."

---

A pause.

---

"Because now…"

---

"they've all noticed you."

---

Arjun looked up.

---

And for the first time—

---

he felt it.

---

Not one presence.

---

Not two.

---

But many.

---

Watching.

---

Waiting.

---

Hungry.

---

And all of them—

---

were aware of him.

---

---

The silence didn't last.

---

It never did.

---

A sharp alarm echoed through the tower.

---

Loud.

Persistent.

---

Not for the outside.

---

For inside.

---

Arjun's head snapped toward the sound.

---

"What now…?"

---

The man didn't answer immediately.

---

Instead—

he looked upward.

---

As if listening to something deeper than the noise itself.

---

"They've started moving," he said quietly.

---

"Who?"

---

A pause.

---

"The others."

---

Arjun frowned.

---

"Others?"

---

Before he could get an answer—

---

The walls trembled.

---

Not from impact.

---

From pressure.

---

Something heavy.

---

Something powerful.

---

Moving.

---

Outside.

---

Arjun felt it.

---

That same pull again.

---

Stronger this time.

---

Like something was calling him.

---

Not with sound.

---

But with presence.

---

"What is that…?" he whispered.

---

The man finally looked at him.

---

And for the first time—

---

there was no calm in his eyes.

---

Only focus.

---

"Not one."

---

A pause.

---

"More than one."

---

Arjun's chest tightened.

---

"More… Hunters?"

---

The man shook his head slowly.

---

"No."

---

A pause.

---

"Something above them."

---

Silence.

---

That sentence—

---

felt heavier than anything else.

---

Arjun's grip tightened around the rod.

---

"You're saying there are stronger ones…?"

---

The man didn't deny it.

---

"They're waking up."

---

Arjun's heartbeat spiked.

---

"Because of what?"

---

The man's eyes locked onto him.

---

"You."

---

Silence.

---

"No," Arjun said immediately.

---

"That's not possible."

---

"Isn't it?"

---

The man stepped closer.

---

"You felt it."

---

"They felt it."

---

"And now…"

---

"They're coming."

---

BOOM!

---

A distant impact shook the ground again.

---

Closer.

---

This time—

---

much closer.

---

Dust fell from above.

---

Cracks formed along the walls.

---

"They're breaking through…" Arjun muttered.

---

"No," the man said.

---

"They're being allowed in."

---

Arjun snapped toward him.

---

"Why would anyone do that?!"

---

The man didn't answer.

---

Because he didn't need to.

---

Arjun already knew.

---

Experiment.

---

Observation.

---

Control.

---

"Is this all just a test to him?" Arjun asked.

---

The man's silence confirmed it.

---

Rage flared inside Arjun.

---

"This is insane!"

---

Another impact.

---

This time—

---

right outside the tower.

---

The air shifted.

---

Heavier.

---

Darker.

---

Different.

---

Arjun felt his body react instantly.

---

Not fear.

---

Something else.

---

Something deeper.

---

Like his instincts—

---

were changing.

---

"Stay back," the man said.

---

But Arjun didn't move.

---

Because now—

---

he could feel them.

---

Multiple presences.

---

Different from the Hunter.

---

Stronger.

---

Sharper.

---

Aware.

---

"They're here…" Arjun whispered.

---

The door—

---

slowly began to bend inward.

---

Metal groaning.

---

Straining.

---

Like it couldn't hold.

---

CRACK.

---

A deep line split across its surface.

---

Then—

---

another.

---

And another.

---

Arjun's breathing slowed.

---

Not out of calm.

---

But focus.

---

Something inside him—

---

was responding.

---

Matching.

---

Adapting.

---

The man noticed it instantly.

---

"…It's happening faster than expected," he muttered.

---

Arjun didn't hear him.

---

Because at that moment—

---

the door exploded inward.

---

And something stepped through.

---

Not one.

---

Not two.

---

Three.

---

Different.

---

Larger.

---

More stable.

---

Their movements—

---

weren't chaotic.

---

They were controlled.

---

Their eyes—

---

weren't empty.

---

They were aware.

---

And all of them—

---

looked at Arjun.

---

At the same time.

---

Silence filled the room.

---

Heavy.

---

Oppressive.

---

Arjun didn't move.

---

Didn't speak.

---

Didn't breathe.

---

Because now—

---

there was no doubt.

---

This wasn't random anymore.

---

This wasn't survival.

---

This was something far beyond it.

---

One of the creatures stepped forward.

---

Slow.

---

Deliberate.

---

Then—

---

it stopped.

---

And tilted its head.

---

Just like the Hunter did.

---

Recognition.

---

Again.

---

"...Found…"

---

The word came out broken.

---

But clear.

---

Arjun's heart stopped.

---

"They can talk too…" he whispered.

---

The man behind him smiled faintly.

---

"Yes."

---

A pause.

---

"And they're looking for you."

---

The creature took another step.

---

Closer.

---

"...Return…"

---

Arjun's grip tightened.

---

"I'm not going anywhere."

---

The creature didn't react.

---

Didn't get angry.

---

Didn't attack.

---

It simply said—

---

"...Belong…"

---

Silence.

---

That word—

---

felt wrong.

---

Too wrong.

---

Arjun shook his head.

---

"I don't belong to you."

---

For a moment—

---

nothing happened.

---

Then—

---

all three creatures moved at once.

---

Fast.

---

Too fast.

---

Arjun reacted instantly.

---

This time—

---

not out of fear.

---

But instinct.

---

Pure instinct.

---

And something inside him—

---

finally snapped awake.

---

A sharp pulse ran through Arjun's veins.

---

Not pain.

---

Power.

---

Raw.

Uncontrolled.

---

The creatures stopped.

---

All three of them—

froze.

---

Their eyes—

locked onto him differently now.

---

Not as prey.

---

Not even as target.

---

Something else.

---

Something closer to—

acknowledgment.

---

Arjun slowly straightened.

---

His breathing steady.

---

His fear—

gone.

---

Replaced by something darker.

---

Something stronger.

---

"I told you…"

---

His voice came out low.

---

Different.

---

"I don't belong to anyone."

---

The air around him shifted.

---

Heavy.

---

Unstable.

---

And for the first time—

---

the monsters hesitated.

---

A low vibration spread through the ground beneath him.

---

Not from outside.

---

From him.

---

Arjun felt it clearly now.

---

Something inside his chest—

beating differently.

---

Not like a human heart.

---

Something heavier.

---

Something older.

---

The creatures stepped back instinctively.

---

One step.

---

Then another.

---

As if something invisible—

was pushing them away.

---

Arjun's eyes narrowed.

---

"This…"

---

He looked at his hands again.

---

"What is happening to me…?"

---

No answer came.

---

But he didn't need one anymore.

---

Because deep down—

---

he understood.

---

This wasn't fear.

---

This wasn't survival.

---

This was something else entirely.

---

Something that didn't belong to either side.

---

Something new.

To be continued.....

Arjun is no longer just surviving… something inside him is changing.

And now, even the monsters are reacting to it.
