Chapter 18 - Chapter 18: Falling

The confession hung in the air long after the words were spoken.

Guàn Jǐngchén's arms tightened around Lin Yuè in the darkness, as if he could physically hold the younger man closer to his heart. The CEO's breathing was steady, but Lin Yuè could feel the rapid heartbeat beneath his cheek — strong, alive, and now beating for him.

"I think I'm falling for you, Lin Yuè."

The words echoed in Lin Yuè's mind like a virus he couldn't delete.

He had planned to seduce, to manipulate, to use the CEO's growing obsession as cover for his final objectives. Instead, he was the one being unraveled — thread by thread — by gentle morning kisses, possessive touches against glass windows, and quiet admissions in the dead of night.

"I think… I'm falling too," Lin Yuè had whispered back.

It wasn't entirely a lie.

The next morning brought a fragile kind of peace.

Guàn Jǐngchén woke first and spent nearly twenty minutes simply watching Lin Yuè sleep, fingers tracing lazy patterns on his bare shoulder. When Lin Yuè finally stirred, the CEO greeted him with a slow, deep kiss that tasted like coffee and devotion.

"No office today," Guàn Jǐngchén murmured against his lips. "Just us. I cleared my schedule."

Lin Yuè's eyes widened with genuine surprise. "You… never clear your schedule."

"For you, I will." Guàn Jǐngchén rolled them so Lin Yuè was on top, hands settling possessively on his hips. "I meant what I said last night. I want to focus on this. On us."

They spent the day in a bubble of domestic intimacy that felt dangerously real.

Breakfast turned into lazy kisses over the kitchen island. A movie on the massive screen became an excuse for Lin Yuè to curl up in Guàn Jǐngchén's lap, the CEO's fingers carding gently through his messy hair. Lunch was ordered in, but they barely ate — too busy feeding each other bites between stolen kisses that grew longer and hungrier.

By afternoon, they were back in bed.

Guàn Jǐngchén took his time, worshipping every inch of Lin Yuè's body with hands and mouth. He mapped the sensitive spots he had learned — the dip of his waist, the inside of his thigh, the spot just below his ear that made Lin Yuè whimper and arch. When he finally slid inside, it was slow and deep, eyes locked on Lin Yuè's the entire time.

"Look at me," Guàn Jǐngchén whispered, voice rough with emotion. "I want to see you."

Lin Yuè obeyed, doe eyes glassy with pleasure and something far more dangerous — real affection. Their bodies moved together in perfect sync, moans and whispered names filling the room until they shattered together, clinging to each other like lifelines.

Afterward, as they lay tangled and spent, Guàn Jǐngchén pressed soft kisses to Lin Yuè's damp forehead.

"I've never done this before," he admitted quietly. "Never let anyone this close. Never wanted to."

Lin Yuè traced a finger along the CEO's sharp jawline. "Why me?"

Guàn Jǐngchén caught his hand and kissed the palm. "Because you see me. Not the CEO. Not the money. Just… me. And you still stay."

The guilt in Lin Yuè's chest burned hotter than ever.

That evening, while Guàn Jǐngchén took a call in the study, Lin Yuè stood on the balcony overlooking the glittering city. The wind tugged at his oversized sweater as he stared at the lights.

His hidden tablet showed the backdoor was still active, quietly feeding him data.

He could end it tonight. Send one final message, delete the traces, and disappear before the next scan.

But his feet wouldn't move toward the study.

Instead, he thought about Guàn Jǐngchén's gentle hands, the way he said "mine" like a prayer, the raw vulnerability in his eyes when he confessed he was falling.

Lin Yuè closed his eyes, tears stinging.

When Guàn Jǐngchén found him on the balcony, he wrapped strong arms around him from behind, chin resting on his shoulder.

"Cold?" the CEO asked softly.

"A little."

Guàn Jǐngchén turned him around and kissed him — slow, tender, full of unspoken promises. "Then let me warm you."

They moved inside, and for the rest of the night, Guàn Jǐngchén held him like he was something precious.

As Lin Yuè drifted toward sleep in the safety of those arms, one thought circled endlessly in his mind:

*The longer I stay… the more I want to be caught.*

*And the more terrified I am of what happens when he finally sees the real me.*
