CHAPTER TWELVE: THE SOVEREIGNS SACRIFICE
"You're going to let them question you."
Dominic said it like a fact, not a question. His hands were clenched so tightly on the desk that his knuckles had turned white.
"Yes " I said.
"Absolutely not."
"It's the way to find out what he knows."
"It's a trap, Aria. Your father just showed you a photo of Luca in a van. You think walking into an interrogation room is going to save him?"
"I think not walking into it guarantees they'll hurt him." I grabbed my jacket. "I'm going."
"Then I'm coming with you."
"You can't. They said alone."
"I don't care what they said."
"Dominic—"
"No." He moved around the desk close enough that I had to tilt my head to meet his eyes. "I'm not letting you walk into a building without backup. I'm not losing you again."
"You're not losing me. I'm coming back."
"You don't know that."
"Neither do you but standing here arguing about it isn't helping Luca."
