The crowd flared up excited, murmurs filled the arena.
"What kind of mutant new recruits did the military academy recruit this year?"
"Verde we love you but this is too much!"
"Why won't Verde move?"
Everyone's eyes in the arena were glued to the ongoing battle who knew the last match of the day would be so exciting.
They were impressed that the rookies were standing up to the seniors and their gazes were filled with anticipation and admiration.
Who would win this final match?
Jack, hyped up by the crowd, asked Verde brazenly, "are you going to surrender?"
Verde choked, "I will never surrender to a rookie, Mercy twins stop idling and help me!"
Jack had the right idea behind his owl attack by attacking that particular section he also caused oxygen deficiency.
Which traumatized the snake and slowed down Verde's movements because snakes have very small lungs.
The constant barrage of attacks from the piercing talons of the spirit owl made Verde tire quickly and shrunk his chances to escape or fight.
Reduced to such a deplorable state the snake was so vulnerable, as the spirit beast's talons gripped so tightly it couldn't raise its head to properly defend itself.
Seeing that Verde, their strongest teammate was about to be taken down by the spirit owl, the Mercy Twins acted.
They couldn't afford to lose this challenge and immediately transformed into their spirit beasts.
Jack, who had been using the spirit owl to boost the powers of the bombardier beetle, didn't notice Lyle sneaking up behind him until it was too late.
Lyle spirit beast was the embodiment of the chupacabra, it had a goat shaped head and a reptilian body, the more blood it drank the stronger it got.
Right now Lyle had sunk its teeth into the spirit owl and was draining it of its blood and spirit essence.
When it had its fill it tossed the nearly lifeless body of Minerva to Jack causing him to faint from the gory sight of seeing its loveable owl spirit beast drained before his eyes.
No wonder the Mercy Twins didn't like to show their true forms as they were very ugly.
Lyle looked like a goat with lizard skin walking on two hooven feet, complete with two ram sized horns and mountain goat bronzed fur.
Why Kyle had the head and the front legs of a golden nemean lion his roar was loud enough to deafen and stun his opponent into paralysis.
Just like Lyle his physical strength was insane with his golden fur being impervious to powerful attacks as it was not easy to pierce through his skin.
It was very hard to kill with metal weapons and Kyle was more dangerous than Lyle because his claws could cut through steel and claw his way through strong armor.
Lyle hissed, "Verde is very weak from the owl's attack; we need to transform now in order to trigger the healing condition called rapid recovery."
Kyle nodded in agreement while holding Verde's paralyzed body.
Rapid recovery only occurred when they joined together to become one.
Together the trio made up of goat, lion and snake came together in a bid to perform their ultimate and most powerful move, the chimera attack.
Combining their bodies to create the ultimate chimera form it looked hideous with the head and front legs of a lion, a goat body and the tail of the snake.
Whatever spirit essence it lost earlier the chimera had regained after draining Minerva and strengthening its own physique.
Now just like the bombardier beetle it also had a fiery breath and could exhale intense flames from its goat head.
This chimera was even more annoyingly persistent than the green snake combined with three antagonistic personalities of the three senior students.
The only thing uniting this trio was their shared dislike of the newcomers that had embarrassed them and forced them to show their true form to the crowd.
At Jolan's command the bombardier beetle used its body as a shield attempting to use its large body to obstruct the advance of the snake.
It was the only thing facing the aggressive onslaught from the chimera that wanted desperately to destroy them.
He had never encountered anything like the chimera before.
Not only was it intelligent and cunning but was also incomparably fast.
In terms of physical strength it could easily move and crush mountains, not to mention its claws and teeth were also very sharp.
It could even use its agility to jump very high to almost seem like it was flying and its reaction speed was also very fast.
Jolan was stumped; his beetle's attacks were less effective now that the enemy team of the three senior students had combined to their chimera form.
He used the bombardier beetle's most powerful attack, the atom bomb shock wave.
Which was a combination of fire and acid to bomb the chimera but the powerful hybrid blast was unable to penetrate the thick reptilian's skin and injure the chimera in the slightest.
The bombardier beetle, too exhausted to fly, was running low on spirit essence.
Now it was grounded, unable to fly, it was being chased relentlessly by the chimera.
Pressed and unable to fight back it was relying on its nimbleness and agility to avoid the scorching heat that erupted from the chimera's mouth.
Infuriated that its flame attacks weren't working, the chimera tried something more sinister with its hybrid attack.
A combination of the agility of the lion and the poisonous venom of the snake spewing from its serpent tail.
It was hard for Jolan's beetle that had now started to slow, to dodge with both of them on its back.
Finally the chimera landed a sizable hit weakening the bombardier beetle; both Sly and Jolan fell off its back and were separated.
Seeing Jolan as its enemy it ignored Sly and went after Jolan to crush the enemy to death with its most devastating attack, the destructive rampage attack.
