Just as quickly as it appeared the murderous aura dissipated leaving Lyle stunned for a second.
Perhaps it was simply a trick of the mind and what he thought was murderous intent earlier was nothing but an illusion.
Surely that fiendish aura would not be coming from that boy who looked so pale and innocent?
Sly is a rookie spirit plant user without training, everything about him appeared weak from his physical body to his slow reaction and speed.
Kyle doesn't need his help to take on the weakest spirit plant user.
By all appearances his younger brother should have a crushing advantage over Sly Foxx.
Without using any battle tactics just brute strength Kyle only intended to pulverize Sly with his fists.
He made a move to act, reaching out to punch Sly squarely in the face.
Kyle's feet swiftly sidestepped and in the blink of an eye he was already close enough to strike.
Thanks to Mimosa instinctively Sly could see Kyle's punch action but with no formal training he was not fast enough to dodge the attack so Sly's movements were stiff and rusty.
Still Sly somehow managed to move then tripped and instantly lost his balance and fell to the ground clutching his face.
The edge of his cheek was badly bruised and swollen from just feeling the wind off of Kyle's aggressive fist speed.
Kyle's eyes widened with surprise that Sly was able to dodge at the last moment and left him punching air and looking stupid.
Didn't they say that Sly was weak from a transplant surgery and had not received any lessons in self defense?
Before this moment the attack on Sly wasn't personal it was simply business but after being mocked by the crowd Kyle's intentions were no longer pure.
Earlier on he had just barely let loose his true physical power but now that Sly embarrassed him Kyle had no intention of controlling his strength.
Kyle wanted to hurt and pound Sly into the ground.
In the next second Kyle grabbed onto Sly then hoisted him above his head with a single hand.
Then like a whirlwind Kyle twirled his feet and tossed Sly's body sending his flying then slamming into the ground.
The crowd cheered loudly applauding Kyle's grandstanding, his simple throwing movements showcased his fluidity.
His feet work was swift not to mention his strength was unparalleled, able to easily lift his body weight and toss it more than once.
Groaning, Sly struggled to get on his feet, his vision a blur and noise from the spectators in the stands were amplified.
The crowd seemed to enjoy that Kyle was using Sly like a punching bag knocking him around the stage.
Sly felt immense pain and was unable to fight back, even his hearing felt abused and for a few seconds his world fell silent.
Just as Kyle was about to punch him again the bombardier beetle intervened and flames of orange fire were emitted and heat spilled out.
Even though Verde was hot on the heels of the bombardier beetle and very fast it was bound to land unlike the bug that could fly and escape its attacks if it wanted to.
"Run Sly… don't just stand there like an imbecile waiting to die… do something," warned Jolan savagely.
Adrenaline was high and Sly was dragged atop the bombardier beetle and seated behind Jolan he hung on for dear life as the beetle took to the skies triggering his fear of heights.
The snake beast was upset that the pair managed to evade his attack when he lunged at them.
Vexed, the bombardier beetle spat out more acid but it was unable to injure the thick skin of the green snake that moved so fast it dodged the multiple acid strikes from the fire bug.
Verde's snake form was able to twist and turn its body magnificently, it collided with its own teammates.
The duo acted like a slingshot and shot the snake towards the bombardier beetle in the sky.
It soared towards them through the sky with its mouth wide open and snake fangs elongated ready to take a bite out of them but missed.
Then the snake sank its fangs into the bombardier beetle pulling it down savagely to the ground.
Before wrapping its snake body fast and whip-like around the bombardier beetle so that it couldn't move.
Suddenly Jack's voice rang out crystal clear, "beautiful owl Minerva spread your wings and attack what is hidden!"
Minerva, the beautiful white owl hooted boldly and did as her master asked.
Jack used the owl's ultimate attack, aerial dominance to assist his teammates to escape the mighty grip of the green snake that was strangling the life out of them.
She grew impressively large in a matter of seconds, then attacked the giant green snake without warning while aiming for its most vulnerable part.
Its deadly talons managed to rip apart the spinal column shortly behind the head of the green snake causing immediate paralysis of the snake.
After a few moments of silence the stunned crowd seemed to suddenly explode into massive hysteria.
"Did you see that!"
"As expected of the Winchester family, Jack has a bright future ahead of him."
Are the seniors deliberately trying to throw the last game, what a waste!"
Verde remained somewhat dazed; oblivious to the noisy audience.
He had totally underestimated this new batch of students to the academy and that had led to his downfall.
As a senior student who was supposed to be setting an example to newcomers who had come to hone their skills.
During the challenge Verde was supposed to have the advantage.
How did things go so wrong and when did the new students manage to grip the gap between them.
Jack walked over boldly and crouched down beside Verde whispering provokingly, "senior, is this best you've got. I'm honestly quite offended."
Verde's snake eyes grew cold, the match was far from over and he would make this arrogant rookie eat his last words.
