Chapter 22 - The Monkey King Battles Confucius for the Blade of Heaven.

The Monkey King and his comrades had finally reached Confucius's Palace

located inside the Forbidden City of the Jade Emperor within the Emperor's Palace.

And soon the battle with Sun-Wukong and Confucius for the Blade of Heaven

would begin. First they would have to gain permission with the Jade Emperor also

known as the King of Heaven to have an official duel with the great Sage

Confucius. King Gilgamesh and Enkidu stressed they would have to leave after

Monkey completed his trial but he needed to see the battle between the Monkey

King and the Great Sage Confucius for it was only once in a 1,000,000 years one

could witness such an event. The heroes entered the palace of Confucius. "So the

Monkey King has finally arrived. I hear that now you're a Buddhist, a devout one

at that. I remember a demonic beast that prayed on both Taoist and Buddhist souls

alike across the Middle Kingdom and now you're a Pacifist? Excuse me for my

skepticism Sun-Wukong." Said Confucius. "I've changed Sage, I'm not the

impulsive rogue I once was." Said Monkey. "I tried to give you balance

Sun-Wukong. I tried to teach you the three great-teachings of China, Confucianism,

Taoism and Buddhism. I taught you to respect the rule of law, be one with the Tao

and follow the teachings of the Buddha and Lao-Tzu. But you consistently fought

me at every turn and chose your arrogant-pride over enlightenment. And you

expect me to believe you've really changed? How foolish." Said Confucius. "I

guess the young Monk Tripitaka was a better teacher than the old supposedly wise

Sage Confucius." Said Monkey. "ENOUGH!" said Confucius.

After Confucius uttered the word a silence was heard across the halls of the Sage's Palace. After

some time the Monkey King responded. "So you want to fight outside, I'm fine

with whatever." Said Monkey. "My Palace will suffice lets just hope you don't try to

cheat." Said Confucius. "That's a low blow old man. But sure, we'll find out soon

enough anyway." Said Monkey. There was a long silence and than at a speed that

seemed impossible to comprehend Confucius struck Monkey with the Blade of

Heaven but it was blocked by Monkey's power pole. After this the two began to

pick up the fight and in no time at all they were impossible to see. "Incredible. This

is the true power of the Monkey King." Said Leizi. "You haven't seen anything yet

lady. He's just getting started." Said King Gilgamesh. In the sky above

Sun-Wukong and Confucius continued their battle. Sun-Wukong ended up bursting

out of the palace and flying into the air on his cloud who was followed by

Confucius. The two began to now battle in the sky. The fighting became more

intense and now the battle was truly becoming an epic struggle between two great

deities. Confucius, like the Monkey, also possessed the power to change his form

or the art of shape-shifting. So because of this the battle began to take on a new

form, the form of a battle based around each deity changing their shape to one up

the other. First Monkey chose the form of a giant ogre while Confucius chose the

form of a Fish-Like Water-Demon. Monkey now had a large club and swung it directly at Confucius who grabbed Ogre Monkey's club after he was struck and

used the momentum of the swing while grabbing the club to throw Monkey behind

him into the side of a large mountain in the distance. Monkey in his new Ogre

collided into the side of the mountain quickly catching his breath and than

unleashing a devastating set of blows against Confucius. Confucius almost could

not believe the incredible speed in which the Monkey King unleashed his attacks is

was becoming increasingly difficult even for the Great Sage himself to keep up

with Sun-Wukong's attacks. Now Confucius was finished playing around and

turned from a Water-Demon into a massive Dragon. But two could play at that

game and Monkey transformed himself into the giant demonic monkey he was

always capable of changing into. Sun-Wukong for the first time in a long time was

actually scared and began to feel himself shrinking to some extent. But he

remembered what was at stake and rose to the challenge. The Monkey King removed his sword and struck the side of the large

dragon. He decided to revert from his demonic form into his regular form as he

reasoned it would be easier to fight a giant monster in his smaller form and created

duplicates of himself with literally thousands of Monkeys running around the

dragon only one of them being the real Sun-Wukong.

Confucius in his new dragon form was deeply confused as it must be taken into account how large he was.

Confucius was 10,000 ft. long, keep in mind that for context the Mariana Trench is

over 36,000 ft. so Confucius had become a massive Eastern Dragon larger than any

mountain on Planet Earth by far. The Monkey King knew that thousands of

Monkeys wasn't enough so he multiplied more first into millions, then billions and

finally into hundreds of billions of Monkeys. "So this is Confucius's final form?

Amazing?! The Great Sage of the Middle Kingdom certainly doesn't disappoint!"

thought Monkey. Monkey ran up the side of the beast mirroring the battle in the

previous chapter between Ungar and Demon King Taipei in his Dragon Form

though Taipei was the size of a mountain while Confucius had dwarfed Taipei in

every department. Sun-Wukong used one of his special attacks, the Wukong-Strike

in which he harnessed the Daoist elements of Water, Earth, Fire, Metal and Wind

as well as the essence of the Buddha to launch devastating magic strikes with his

sword. The Wukong-Strike did some significant damage and from below the others

could see the battle.

"From the first time I met Sun-Wukong he always amazed me. He loved

fighting. I doubted if I could ever convert him to Buddhism. His power is like

nothing else I've ever seen."

Thought Tripitaka. Tripitaka thought back to the first

time they met when Sun-Wukong was trapped under a mountain for over 500 years and the young Buddhist monk Tripitaka arrived to help him. He remembered that

day so clearly. In the setting Tripitaka is on the Journey to the West from China to

India to retrieve the Sacred Scrolls or Sutras from the Buddha himself when he

stumbles upon Sun-Wukong underneath a mountain, his head and arms sticking out

of the bottom of it. "Hey you're the monk the Goddess told me about! The Buddhist

Tripitaka right?! Hey would you mind getting me out of here! I heard you could get

me out." Said Monkey. "Why are you under this mountain in the first place

Monkey?" asked Tripitaka. "Well I kind of told you guy the Buddha that I was

thinking of overthrowing the Jade Emperor! Long story short your master got so

fed up with me that he trapped me under this mountain with a magic seal.

Fast-forward 500 years later and I'm still sitting here!" said Monkey. "Well aren't

you a God? Why can't you just get out?" said Tripitaka. "Because genius! One of

the Buddha's disciples put a magical seal on the top of the mountain which was

requested by the Buddha himself. The seal can only be broken by a Buddhist Monk

and hey that's what you are! So why don't you be a gentleman and get me out of

here!" said Monkey. "The seal is all the way up there?" said Tripitaka. "Yeah so

you better stop climbing Monk. I can wait. I've already been waiting 500 years to

get out from under here so a couple of more days can't hurt too bad." Said

Monkey. After a few days Tripitaka had reached the top and removed the seal.

Monkey waited several more days for Tripitaka to descend from the mountain and

then allowed the Monk to move far enough away from the mountain so he wouldn't get hurt when Monkey blasted out of the mountain. When Tripitaka assured

Sun-Wukong he was far enough away the mountain exploded in an instant.

Tripitaka was descended from a god-like being himself but he was still a mortal

and he had never seen this level of power before he was happy to know that the

Monkey King was on his side but his power put the Monk in a trance. "Well I guess

we better start heading to the lands to the west in Hindustan (India). We're going

to traveleing along time together so we better try to get along Monk! What do you

say?!" said Monkey. "Sounds like a plan." Said Tripitaka and the two headed off

on their adventure. From that point on Sun-Wukong defeated every challenger on

their journey to the West that came between them and their ultimate goal while

recruiting Pigsy and Sandy to their fellowship as well. This same level of power

was being shown by Monkey right now and the fight was about to end when the

dragon was completely destructed by the army of Monkeys the real Monkey had

managed to sneak up behind Confucius and with his sword cut him completely in

half from nose to feet. The battle was over and the Monkey King had won. After

the battle King Gilgamesh and Enkidu said their goodbyes and headed back to their

kingdom in the Desert Realm in the south and Confucius praised Monkey giving

him the Blade of Heaven. They said there good byes to the Great Sage Confucius

and headed off to the entrance to the Underworld where they would meet up with

Daniel and the others once they got there as well as Acon 01 01 01 -012 and Taiping.

The five warriors, Sun-Wukong now armed with the Blade of Heaven,

Tripitaka, Pigsy, Sandy and Leizi the Lightning Goddess now all headed to the

entrance of the Underworld. "The Monkey King is truly powerful there is no doubt

in my mind. But the Gate Keeper, Sun-Wukong and everyone else will need more

than power to defeat Lord Iblis and the greater threat that lies beyond him. They

need to become 'Junzi.'" Thought Confucius.
