Daphne's POV
Warmth pressed against my side when I opened my eyes. The steady rhythm of breathing that wasn't mine filled the quiet morning air. My silk sheets were twisted around my legs, and it took several blinks before the spinning room settled into focus. When I turned my head, there he was. Orion lay sprawled across my bed like he owned the space.
Sleep had erased the hard edges from his face. Gone was that careful mask he wore during waking hours. Sunlight streamed through the windows, highlighting the strong line of his jaw and catching in the dark strands that fell across his forehead. My hand moved without permission, fingers threading through his hair. The softness caught me off guard. He remained still, lost in dreams.
The alarm clock jerked me back to reality.
Those glowing red numbers made my chest tighten. I cursed quietly. The Omegas would arrive within minutes. I shot upright and drove my shoulder into his.
"Wake up."
