Kaelen's POV
I remained frozen in place, staring down at my phone screen, at Brooks's message that still had me grinning like a complete fool. Lyra would be coming home soon. Finally, everything was aligning perfectly. The crushing burden I had been shouldering was lifting, and soon she would be back exactly where she belonged.
A sharp rap on my door snapped me out of my thoughts.
"Enter," I called out.
An Omega pushed the door open and dipped her head respectfully. Her hands remained folded neatly in front of her.
"What do you need?" I asked.
"Dinner has been prepared, Alpha Kaelen. The Grand Luna has requested that everyone join her at the table."
I gave a quick nod. "I will be there momentarily."
She lingered in the doorway for just a beat while I glanced toward the waste basket next to my desk where the shattered picture frame had ended up.
"Actually, would you mind disposing of that for me?" I gestured toward the bin.
