Genevieve's POV
I hauled Julian's limp body off the cold floor and struggled to get him onto my bed. He was completely unconscious, his weight making my muscles strain as I tried to position him safely. Blood streamed from his nose in a steady flow, staining his white shirt crimson and spreading across his chest like spilled wine.
His eyes had rolled back completely. Nothing but white showed beneath his lids.
"Julian, please." I snatched a clean cloth from my nightstand and pressed it firmly against his bleeding nose. The fabric soaked through immediately, turning deep red. "You need to wake up right now."
His breathing came in shallow, uneven gasps. Each breath seemed like a struggle, as if his body had forgotten the basic function of staying alive.
I wiped away the blood but it kept coming. My hands trembled as I worked to clear his airways, desperate to help him breathe properly. The violent seizures had finally stopped, but now he lay terrifyingly still.
