Chapter 4 - Book: Alpha

A week has passed since my talk with Arceus and I have to say that everything I believed has been completely shattered during this short period of time.

Not that it really matters, It's not like I believed in many things in the first place, you could say the only thing I truly believed in was my own existence and even that I doubted every three days.

But whatever, that's not important to you right?

What is important is what I managed to define together with Arceus after he promised to help me become a law-type God, with universal rank as the limit.

Because yes, that's one of the things I discovered, apparently "Gods" have ranks, and apparently they aren't even recognized as Gods, but as "Creators"

And honestly considering the difference in meaning, it's understandable why mortals simply define them as "Gods"

But anyway, aside from finally understanding the ranks of Creators he also explained that there are different types of Creators.

And apparently the most important thing to understand is that "type" matters more than "rank", because if what Arceus told me is true a faith-type Creator of galactic rank is inferior in every sense to a law-type Creator of planetary rank.

Needless to say I asked him to let me become the most powerful type he could allow and his answer was a firm no.

But at least I'll become law-type, so I ended up winning no matter how you look at it.

Oh, right, another thing I discovered is that Arceus is extradimensional rank, and seeing how he could allow me to become a Law type he's at least beyond that, meaning he already knew about the "bet" I tried to make against him.

But since even he couldn't access any kind of information about the Higher-Dimensional Being that sent me to his universe, he had no choice but to play along, out of fear that it might destroy his home.

Honestly I should feel stupid, but after he explained the ranks and types of Creators that exist I don't care about looking like a clown as long as I obtain that power, return to my universe, and kill those two.

[...And that would be the location of the last Elemental Tablet.]

The system spoke while I finished writing in the book Arceus gave me as a gift, a book that appears as an ability in the system called [Book].

An unbelievably simple name for what it does but I suppose the system wasn't interested in giving it a real name.

- ...Uh-huh...

I thought, still focused on finishing the book on which my entire plan depends assuming I manage to achieve my goal in this life.

[...You do know there were other ways to ascend as a God in this Pokémon universe besides the one you asked Arceus for, right?]

The system said in its characteristic mechanical tone which I had already started to find frustrating despite how little time it had existed in this fragment of reality.

- And you know your voice is frustrating to listen to, right?

I thought finally deciding to be honest with my words because seriously I'm already frustrated enough with my current situation as it is, I don't need to put up with an assistant that is also my jailer.

[I am sorry that you find my voice frustrating, but you are not my master, so I do not care.]

And thank Arceus for that because if I were, believe me I would've killed him

- Thank Arceus for that.

After thinking that and rereading the book from the beginning one last time to confirm there were no mistakes, I decided to confirm one final time with my system.

- Are you sure this is all the information from every era of this Pokémon universe?

[Yes, it is.]

- Good, In that case let's edit it.

After thinking that I controlled the book so it would modify all the information contained within it, making it so that for the first time since I arrived in this world I felt like I had a little control over my actions.

I know I shouldn't even feel happy about something so pathetic, especially something so pathetic that isn't even mine in the first place.

But if you lived what I lived you would also find happiness in such a pathetic action.

Once the modifications in the book were complete I decided to climb down from the tree I was on and begin walking toward the place where, in the future, the village where the protagonist of "Pokémon Legends: Arceus" would arrive would be built.

But right now it was still nothing more than a meadow.

Once there I decided to sit in the middle of that meadow, and after three minutes of complete silence I decided to speak.

- Arceus, I know it's stupid to ask but... is everything ready?

[Pokémon Creator confirms that everything is ready.]

- *smirks* Good, then let's begin.

The moment I said that, a kind of white bubble shield surrounded my body and then the universe I was in imploded.

In the middle of the nothingness left behind after the destruction of that universe I pulled out one of my books and threw it outside the shield I was in.

And the moment it was thrown, an incredibly bright four pointed star appeared out of nowhere.

At the center of that star, if someone could ignore the overwhelming brightness they would see an egg, one whose shell looked like it was made of the cosmos itself.

Still, none of that mattered, because soon after the egg appeared it began to crack, and once it broke completely...

A universe was born.

It would've been a beautiful moment to witness if it weren't for the fact that the instant that egg broke I was forcibly dragged back to the moment in time where I had disappeared in the first place.

- System, show me the status window.

I thought.

[Understood.]

- Good. Very good.

After thinking that I stood up and began walking toward the forest because now that the initial planning is over all that remains is to make sure my plan doesn't fall apart.

As I walked through the forest I couldn't help but notice how all the wild Pokémon would suddenly fall silent every time I passed nearby.

Honestly, I know it's because of the title "False Creator" but even so I couldn't help feeling curious about what was really happening.

God I miss my previous life because of things like this, back then I had complete control over my emotions.

Not like now in this new body, now no matter how much I try to control them it feels like I actually have less control at all.

To the point that after about ten minutes inside the forest where not a single Pokémon around me dared to make a sound I couldn't stop myself from thinking

- System, show me the description of the title "False Creator"

[Understood.]

[False Creator: A title granted to those who witnessed an act of Creation without being the true Creator, and who interfered with it in some way without truly changing its outcome.

Depending on your actions you may or may not be recognized as an authentic Creator, should the universe itself deem you worthy of the title and its power.

Effects:

- Charisma is sealed or rendered irrelevant as the user is considered "Divine" in one way or another even if the user does not desire it.

- Any action or will expressed by the user may be interpreted as "true" by the universe depending on what benefit the universe finds in that action or will.

Warning:

-Being a False Creator does not mean you are free, quite the opposite, If you act with malice without purpose the title will be revoked and you will be labeled as an enemy of the universe itself.]

- Ha... hahaha... HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

[...What is so funny?]

- *wiping a tear from laughing too hard* ...Nothing. It's just that I didn't think the universe itself would help my plan this much.

[I do not believe the universe's help is necessary when you already have Arceus's support.]

- *stops laughing* ...Good point.

After thinking that and cursing once again my new life I decided to continue my aimless walk but not before saying out loud

- I am not a God.

And the moment I said it, it was as if a switch had been flipped because the silence surrounding me was immediately replaced by the sounds of Pokémon once again.
