The following morning, Ivory Royal was louder than usual , not that anything had happened well under the surface yes but like always it was an odinary day .
Frank and his pack walked through campus like usual with the same strides and precision that made people get out of his way and girls scream as he passed by .
Evnthough things were going normal like they always do something was definitely off . Frank had a warm yet irritated smile on his face which was odd because his smile came with smirks not irritation ,so something was up
"Bro " Kai's voice cut through the air as he fell into step besides him
" you look like you have encountered an angel ,so what's up "
Frank didn't respond rather picked up his pace
" Well then that's good news " Adrien added from the other side adjusting his glasses with a smirk a deliberate move to make the ladies scream . " Who is she ?"
Frank stopped walking and the others halted
Dante raised a brow " What's up with you don't tell me it's one of the girls from the cheer squad my man you never cease to amaze me " he added
" I bet my money on that ,it's not one of those . Our gee here has warmth and irritation plastered on his face which means she ain't an easy girl that one is for sure " Adrien said
Frank exhaled slowly his jaw tightening " will you please stop talking and don't make assumptions. "
Leon who had been quite this whole time finally spoke " you defended yourself firsthand that means something considering you just let things flow "
This made the other wonder the same thing
Frank's eyes flickered, just slightly, because for the first time he didn't have control over something and he hated it so very much .
"She is annoying ' he muttered under his breath
" now that's when it gets even more interesting " Kai responded with a grin on his face
Noah who had been focused on his phone finally spoke " What did she do ?"
Frank hesitated and that alone said everything and the boys knew what had happened
Leon's gaze sharpened," she saw you didn't she "
Frank didn't respond,didn't confirm it or deny it either but that was enough
Kai let out a low whistle,"Damn that's serous"
Frank scoffed,brushing past them ,"it's not serious
And evnthough he said it ,his mind replaced it,the darkness,the breathing,her voice, inhale ,hold and Exhale ,his jaw clenched.
" I just need to fix it and quick "he said .
" Fix what excacly. " Adrien called after him
Frank didn't stop walking
" My problem " he said as knowing what he had to do ..or maybe not .
Across campus, Isabella stood by her locker going through her notebook . Same spot ,routine and silence like yesterday never happened.
" okay First of all ..' Andrea's voice came rushing in before she did
" you need to apologise for ditching me at the grocery shop yesterday "
Isabella didn't look up ," girl you were taking forever taking to that boy and l had to go home early to work on dinner before my family could arrive so l did what was necessary "
Andrea gasped " Girl why do you exist?"
That earned her a small glance and a smile from Isabella
" so that l can torment you all the time " Isabella said
" You're lucky you are my best friend otherwise l would have rained on you like a Valmora thunderstorm evnthough l find you extra annoying today "Andrea said
"Maybe it's becuase you're too observant " Isabella said
Before Andrea could respond the air shifted.it always did when the Wolves were around so it meant one thing ,they were here .
Voices lowered, movements slowed , attention redirected.
Isabella didn't need to look now ,but Andrea did and she did it dramatically.
"Oh my " she said as she grabbed Isabella's arm whispering loudly," they are here "
Isabella sighed of course they were.
The STRAY WOLVES moved through the hall way like they owned it which technically they did .
Adrien laughing,
Kai waving at someone,
Dante scanning the area like was bored,
Noah calm as ever and
Leon watching everything and Frank walking straight to her no hesitation.
Andrea froze ," Isabella "
" I can see him " Isabella said
" no l mean he is coming here "Andrea said
" I know " Isabella replied
" why ?" Andrea asked
" I don't know " Isabella said of course she she did
" what!"Andrea was surprised
Isabella had a bad feeling about this , she didn't like it at all considering she doesn't want to be visible but this guy here was definitely not going to make that happen .
Frank stopped infront of her , silence fell around them as people stopped to watch of course they had to it was an early morning drama and Isabella happened to be in it .
She looked up ,calm ,unbothered.
"Yes?" Straight to the point.
Frank stared at her for a second maybe two . Like he was trying to figure something out. She had guts and that irritated him even more.
Then " Excuse me Miss .."
Andrea's soul almost left her body .
Isabella raised a brow slightly and Frank's Gaze didn't waver " you stole my heart "
Silence followed,complete ,absolute.
Andrea choked, somewhere in the background Kai lost it and Adrien took his phone to record, "this is going premium " he said amused
Isabella blinked once "What?"
Frank exhaled,clearly irritated.
" in the elevator " he clarified "you did something
" elevator?" Someone in the background said
Kai let out a whistle clearly making this scenario more dramatic.
" I helped you breathe " Isabella said
"Excacly " Frank said
A pause then
" Fix it " he added another pause
Isabella looked at him not shocked or flattered just processing.
"Fix what ? " she asked just to be sure what needed to be fixed
" my problem " he stated bluntly
Andrea slowly turned her head between the two of them ," I am sorry ,.. what's happening? "
Isabella ignored her as she continued looking at Frank
"And your problem is .?"
Frank stepped a little closer not enough to invade her space but enough to make it clear this wasn't a joke .
" I can't get it out of my mind " He said
" breathing " Isabella clarified
"No " a beat " you " straight to the point no hesitation.
That got a reaction, not big or dramatic,just a slight pause and Frank noticed it ,he held her gaze
" I don't know what you did " he continued voice low ,more controlled " but whatever it is" he stared directly into her eyes
" give it back "
Silence ..Andrea looked like she was about to pass out .
Kai was openly laughing now .
Adrien continued filming whilst Dante stood there a little confused, Noah was on his phone and Leon was watching everything.
The entire hallway now was watching, waiting for the next dramatic twist perhaps for Isabella Sanchez to react like any other girl would.
She didn't instead she laughed soft ,short ,real and somehow Frank found himself lost in that brief smile of hers ."no snap out of it " he said in his head . That was not the reaction he was expecting.
".I don't have it " she simply said as she took her backpack from her locker
She then stepped past him ,just like that no hesitation, no fear and certainly no interest.
Frank didn't move or turn ,didn't speak either.
Because for the first time ,in a very long time.
Frank Xavier Mark stood still because someone had just walked away from him and worse she meant it .
Behind him ,Kai held his chest dramatically " that's hurts so bad " he said
Adrien smirked " bro is it me or you just got rejected "
Dante scoffed " by her "
Noah glanced at Frank carefully, " you okay?"
Leon said nothing he didn't need to because he was watching Frank's expressions closely, analysis, understanding.
" interesting " Leon murmured.
Frank finally moved, slowly. Turning his head slightly just enough to glance the direction Isabella had gone .
His jaw tightened because something unfamiliar had just settled in his chest.
Not anger nor irritation, something worse interesting to be precise and this time it wasn't going away.
" let's go guys class starts soon " Frank said as he walked away
" he definitely is not OK " kai whispered to Adrien.
" this marks the beginning of a new era." Adrien said as they followed Frank .people went on with the day but somehow, Frank had just marked a new territory and Isabella seemed unfazed at all
