The next day Ethan woke up very early before the sun could even rise;
The children were temporarily staying at a sathra, which is just a huge place with a roof on the top. There were no individual rooms; everyone had to stay in the same place, which was super uncomfortable.
Sister Mary saw Ethan waking up so early and asked him, "Why are you up so early, Blue?"
"I am going to train," said Ethan.
"What? Why?" Mary asked in confusion.
"Well, didn't you say I was going to awaken pretty soon? So the least I could do is to prepare for that by training my physical body."
"It's good to see that you are very enthusiastic about it, but why so early?" Mary asked,
"Well, you already know, sister; I wasted 15 years of my life, so I can't waste any more."
Saying that he got up and started walking towards the exit, seeing his small body, Mary thought, "How is he going to train in that fragile body? "Please help him, God."
Ethan reached the same woods from yesterday. "So now how do I train? I had never trained my body in my previous life."
"Like hell I would go to a gym and buy a membership; I was even struggling for food back then."
Well, no other choice. Let's just try to achieve the bald man's training: 100 push-ups, 100 sit-ups, 100 squats, and a 10 km run. Let's keep it as a short-term goal.
Ethan did not have any grand ambition in his past life; all he desired was to love a woman and have a stable and happy life with whatever little money he could earn.
But his desire is completely through the roof.
First of all, he is sarcastic, petty, and also a little narcissistic. Even though he never accepted it, he himself knows it's the truth. He wanted to be someone great to achieve something meaningful.
Whenever he saw someone giving a speech at an award show and saying things like, "I was poor before this; I went through a lot of troubles to achieve this," blah blah blah…he wanted to be that person; he wanted to be in that place, but reality is always cruel.
As a person who has always been average in everything, he seeks an audience; he wants to be in the center of attention.
He thought I died on earth without getting anything I wanted, but that won't happen here. I don't know why, but I have this feeling that things are not as simple as they seem.
He slowly started doing his training. His body was crying at him to please stop. After doing only a few push-ups, his whole body started to tremble and was drenched with sweat.
He took a small break, and after composing himself, he once again started doing his training. And once again his body started to tremble. He took another break, and then once again he started.
Just like that, he kept on going with his training. If there is one thing that Ethan is proud of about himself, it is his willpower.
He, for some reason, has always had great willpower compared to his peers. That is also what helped him to survive all those grueling years back on earth.
And just like that, days went by, and Ethan was training nonstop. He starts early before the sunrise and only finishes training when the night arrives.
He only stops in between to have lunch. But there was a major problem that Ethan found while training.
And just like that, days went by, and Ethan was training nonstop. He starts early before the sunrise and only finishes training when the night arrives. He only stops in between to have lunch.
But there was a major problem that Ethan found while training. "This training is helping me in many ways, seriously. Even my body is slowly getting adapted to it; I could easily do 40 to 50 push-ups right now without taking a break."
"But the problem is food; a good diet is very important in building a strong body."
"And with the amount of food that I am getting from the orphanage, I can't make myself stronger."
"My body also needs a lot of protein to build up my muscles."
"I should be very thankful to Sister Mary. She is secretly helping me by giving a lot more food than she gives the other children."
"But still, it's not enough. I should find a way to eat more healthy foods if I need to improve any more."
"I know the best way to do that. Even though it's a little dangerous, what other choice do I have? Beggars can't be choosers, right?"
The next day, just as usual, he got up early before the sun rose and started going into the woods. But this time he didn't train; instead, he was searching for something else.
He found a branch of the tree and cut it down. and found some vines in the woods. He used a knife, which he stole from the kitchen, and used it to make a bow. It took him almost two hours to make it.
He used straight branches from the trees and used feathers from the chickens, which he collected from the chicken shop in the town, to make the arrows.
After finishing his work, he looked at the bow and arrows and said, "Not a very exceptional one, but it would do for the time being." He took the bow and arrows and started walking towards the woods.
I should make sure I'm not going too deep into the woods. "I don't want to become food for wild animals," he said to himself. Just then he saw a bird sitting on a branch of the tree and picking its own feathers.
He stayed hidden in a bush and took his aim. He released the arrow, but the arrow missed the bird and stuck right behind it. The bird flew away.
Ethan was like, "Right, I should first learn how to use this." He went back to the place where he usually trains and started using the bow for training.
It was not easy for him. His hands and shoulder were...itching with pain, but still he knew this was important and persisted in his training.
A few days went by; after a few days of nonstop training, he slowly got the hang of it. Now he was somewhat hitting the target every time he released the arrow.
That should be enough. He stood up and went into the woods. Once again, he found a bird sitting in its nest. He crouched in a bush, hid himself, and took aim.
This time the arrow didn't miss; the arrow struck the body of the bird, and it fell down from the tree. Ethan ran to the place, took the dead bird, and carried it to his training place.
He roasted the bird, seasoned it with the salt, and started eating it. "Why does it taste like shit?" After eating, he started doing his training. Days went by like this.
Every day early in the morning he would go into the woods, hunt whatever he could, eat it, and do his routine training.
After a month he could see his body was changing; slight muscles started to form, and his stamina and health also increased.
He also achieved his small-time goal of 100 push-ups, sit-ups, and squats and 10 km of running.
But he didn't stop there; he kept on pushing his body each and every day until it couldn't take it anymore.
His prey is also constantly changing; it's not always birds—sometimes it will be small rabbits or other small animals. He even eats rodents sometimes when he does not get any other prey.
"My appetite seems to be improving with the amount of training I'm doing, and small prey is not cutting it now; it seems I need to hunt bigger prey." Saying this, he went a little deep into the woods.
Right then he found a huge bird in a clearing; the bird resembles an emu from Earth, only a little bigger.
He held his breath and sat in the right position to take aim. He was waiting for the right time to take a shot because he knows that if he misses once, then the bird will surely run away, and he may not find another prey like this.
After waiting for 15 minutes, he took the shot. The arrow split through the air and struck right at the head of the bird. Without any movement, the bird instantly died and fell down to the ground.
Ethan ran towards it and crouched down to examine the bird. Just then he heard a sound from behind him. He turned,
"Shit!"
