The soft sound of the flames against the wall echo in my ear as I try to concentrate on the task in front of me. Currently, Shikoku and I are playing chess and so far, she's winning.
She has already taken out 5 of my pawns, my 2 knights and 1 rook whereas she lost only 4 pawns and 1 rook. I rarely played chess back in my old world and even then I was bad.
Once I taught Shikoku how the game works, she became an immediate master at it, tricking me into certain spots and take a piece.
Over the last 3 days, I sparred a bit with Naruhime to get my mind off the grievance of loosing my brother as well as up the templates.
I had the opportunity to meditate and properly view the templates specialises since I don't have to be cautious by thinking of someone creeping up on me like the Shuuki and humans.
So far I've using their imperfect versions which left so many openings for opponents to exploit but with a safe place like here and a training partner like my clone and Naruhime it's been steadily improving.
Currently I'm trying to master boogie woogie since it's the closest to give me a template, I've used it against Naruhime and even she had trouble tracking me with my rapid movements by infusing objects with cursed energy.

Though over the days I have repaid their kindness of giving me a safe space to stay where I don't have to fear of getting captured and attacked as well as giving me food and water by cooking their food as well as giving them a massage on shoulders or toy with their hair since it seems to have a calming affect on woman, this was requested by Shikoku and Naruhime.
I have access to their library as it holds a lot of knowledge for me to use, mainly about barriers as the more I understand them the easier I have an idea to create the domain.
I am eternally grateful to them as they are the only few who were willing to help, even if it's just to use me against humanity.
I shook my head to get out of my thoughts as I concentrate on the game, off to the side are Jouryuu and Naruhime who are just watching us move pieces around in confusion.
Opposite me, Shikoku watched my facial expression and my hand moving above the board as she had an amused smile on her face.
Finally I settled by moving pawn up a space, before Shikoku hovered her hand around the board in thought before looking up at me, "Xicor, may I ask about the energy that resides in your body?" She asked gently, Naruhime and Jouryuu perk up in interest at the topic of my power.
I look up from board and nod, seeing no trouble in telling her about cursed energy, "sure, the energy you sense is called cursed energy, it's generated from human negative emotions such as fear, anger and sadness" I said as my hand lit up with my black and red cursed energy.
The girls watched as the flaming energy swayed like a flame in my hand before it was blow out, "it's more commonly used to reinforce the body, fuel the user's techniques or create cursed tools by constantly infusing their cursed energy into it"
"Humans generate a small amount of cursed energy as well as sorcerers, who are people who manipulate the cursed energy like myself, which will accumulate to create cursed spirits, a sorcerers job is to exorcise those spirits" I explained.
"Have you seen these cursed spirits in the human world?" Shikoku asked curiously.
I go into thought a little as I think back to my time
Back in the human world, "No"
Not once have I seen one, could it be this world's law preventing them from generating, if that's the case and with me constantly leaking my own cursed energy, there's a possibility of cursed spirits being born in Mato rather than the human world since I leaked only a small amount with my time there.
Who knows, maybe the cursed energy would change the Shuuki in some way, making them more intelligent and stronger. Which will be beneficial for Shikoku and the others.
"Next are the cursed techniques, most sorcerers has one cursed technique or none at all, it mainly comes down to talent than hard work of gaining one"
Shikoku and Naruhime tilt their heads at me, I already know what's on their mind, "I am special in that regard but currently I have no knowledge of how I have multiple techniques or even if there's more for me to gain as I grow stronger" I lied partially as never revealing the system is isekai rule number 1.
They both nodded as Shikoku moved her knight, "at the pinnacle of the techniques are the domains" I continue, "almost all domains have a sure-hit effect meaning it is almost impossible to dodge the attack that is thrown at you without a counter before or inside the domain" I moved my rook to defend the pawn close to the enemy lines.
"As for the other domains that don't have a sure-hit effect, they are mainly buffs or creating disadvantages for the opponent for the user" Hikari is one of those people.
"I see, no wonder you've reading so many barrier related books" Shikoku said as she moved her Bishop.
We continued to play for a while with me being too cautious and losing my pieces one by one by Shikoku's deceptive plays.
I sighed as I look down at the board, I obviously lost but I did take out almost half of her pieces but I had fun in the end and so did Shikoku, judging by the happy smile she has.
I get up from the chair and prepare go back to kitchen to get something to eat, "I'm gonna go make something, any of you want me to make anything?" I asked.
"Rice balls!" Naruhime said as stars appeared in her eyes.
"I'll have some of those pancakes you make so often~" Shikoku said as Jouryuu nodded in agreement.
I walk out of the room and down the hall towards the kitchen, this place is massive and is very far down underground, making it difficult to find.
I was surprised at the ingredients they have acquired which makes me think that they have been taking food and other things such as phones, tablets and tv's, hell they even got a god damn Wii, which I am so thankful to see once again that not everything is gone from my old world.
Suddenly a strange gurgle sound reached my ears as I try to locate the sound. Following the sound, I came to an open doorway and inside is a medium size room with a circular platform in centre, at the far end of the room is a wide mirror.
The origin of the sound came from a weird walking egg like creature with chicken like legs, small chicken wings and red spots all over the top of its body.
It was currently in front of the wide mirror, almost like it was inspecting itself but it let out a sad gurgle before tilting its body down to showcase its sadness.
She must be another of Shikoku's siblings but at an early stage in their life. I curiously enter the room, "Yo" I greeted as the walking egg turned around quickly and backed up to the mirror.
"Woah, easy, I ain't gonna hurt you, just curious on who you are since Shikoku and Naruhime brought me and said I can live here now so I may as well introduce myself" I said as the egg perked up on Shikoku's and Naruhime's name as it stepped closer a little.
I walk further into the room just inches from the circular platform, "I'm Xicor Samiel, a human who was casted away from my race and now helping you and the other gods against the humans in Mato"
The egg remained where it is just staring at me while occasionally letting out curious gurgles, "you like looking at yourself in the mirror?" I asked curiously to try and get along with my new housemate.
The egg shifted slightly to look back at the mirror of itself before shaking its body side to side, indicating that it's saying 'no'
I raise a brow before thinking back to where it was looking at itself in the mirror before I entered, the sad gurgles and it not like looking at itself in the mirror may mean that the egg in front of me doesn't like its appearance and imagines itself as something else.
I smile a little before sitting down on the circular platform, "don't worry about me thinking you're ugly in any way nor your siblings for that matter as I anticipate what kind of beautiful creature you'll become and so will your siblings" I said as the creature froze for a second before letting out happy chirps.
"Who knows, maybe you'll become the most beautiful god of them all" I laughed a little as the mood in the room has lightened up.
The walking egg hops on the ground several times before jogging over to me and rub itself against me, almost like it's hugging me.
I chuckle a little before patting top of the egg, "you wanna come with me and watch me cook?" I offered since it's been alone in this room for who knows how long.
The egg hopped up and down a little before walking towards the door as I followed after as we made our way to the kitchen.
Entering in, I get started making everyone's request as the egg watched me work with curiosity. Speaking of making food for everyone, I offered to make something for Rairen a bit after the first day here but he shot down almost immediately but he witnessed Shikoku and the others eating my cooking he took a small bite after saying, 'even if it's poisoned, it would have no affect against a god'
After he ate it, he practically stuffed his mouth of my cooking and yelled out for seconds, honestly I was expecting him to challenge me to a duel to see if I'm worthy or something.
I guess food can really calm people down, I mean it does for me.
I curiously glance at the egg, who was still watching me cook before asking something that been bugging me, "can you eat?"
The egg bobs its head up and down, indicating yes as the centre of its body slits open revealing an empty abyss with several tentacles coming out and tasting the air before going back in before the mouth closes.
"Oh, then do you want me to make you something?" I offered the egg as it bobs its head up and down.
I'll make it some pancakes to see if it likes them like Shikoku does, I continue to make everyone's preferences.

And obviously I don't need to ask Rairen since he loves meat medium rare, that guy always comes around the corner when everyone is about to dig in like some vulture.
I made myself some cooked fish.
With that all the plates are finished, switching to the cloning technique I created a clone of myself as the egg jump back a little before letting out an awing chirp.
"This is one of my techniques but at the moment it's not perfected so I can only make one" I said to egg.
The clone moved to pick up several plates I couldn't pick up and followed me and the egg outside the kitchen and towards the dinning room where I expect everyone to be.
As I entered the room everyone was seat and waiting with anticipation, soon the plates were settled down and were immediately dug into.
The egg sat down on one of the stools as the tentacles brought the food inside the abyssal mouth, once the food entered its mouth, it let out some happy chirps as it kicked its feet under the table.
Shikoku watched this with amusement as her eyes drifted to me who was directly to her right, "you have seem to have gotten along with Kuusetsu"
That sounds like a girls name so I'm assuming it's female.
"I just lift her mood up since it look like she was a bit said staring at herself in the mirror" I said as she nodded at my words before turning her gaze to Kuusetsu.
"For her to reach her next stage, she requires to devour beings to hatch but she's being picky as she refuses to be given the special Shuuki we provided her, even if those Shuuki had very useful abilities" She said with a sigh.
"Maybe it has been something beautiful since I've seen her looking at herself in mirror like she was imagining what she's gonna look like" I said as Shikoku nodded in agreement with me.
She stayed still for a little, taking in little bites of her food before looking at me, "Xicor, when you are ready, I have a task for you"
I look at her, curious to know what this task could be, "go on?"
"Do you know the 2nd unit chief you fought a while back" she said.
"Yes, the one with the fire abilities" I confirmed.
"Good because I want you to go and kill her" she said seriously as I take in her words. I chuckled a little at the target I was given before my lips curved into a grin laced with sadistic malice.
"I'm ready for round 2 and I'll make it ends with her death by my hands"
