Chapter 3 - Extracting A Talent

"So fast?"

Shinichi's heart skipped a beat. He remembers that the creation of his occupation, Apprentice Swordsman, was not something that could be done overnight.

That was a perception that gradually solidified after he joined the Yamashita kenjutsu Dojo, and, over several months, he inadvertently mentioned and demonstrated his training results while talking to people in orphanages, blacksmith shops, and restaurants.

But how long has he been in Ninja Academy?

His occupation, Ninja Academy Student, was generated right after he finished the enrollment procedures.

Shinichi's thoughts raced.

The key difference may lie in the perceiver.

Today, a large crowd gathered at the school gate, including parents, teachers, and new students.

But more important is the weight of each individual within it.

Kakashi was present.

His father, the legendary White Fang of Konoha, Sakumo Hatake, was also present.

Even…

Shinichi recalled that when he quickly glanced at the Hatake father and son as he entered the school, Konoha's White Fang, who was observing him, suddenly glanced upwards.

Yes, the third Hokage, the Ninja who was used to using the Crystal Ball Jutsu to look at Konoha, is very likely also watching the events of the first day of school.

These figures who stand at the top of the Shinobi World or Konoha, even if their attention is only for a moment and they don't take it to heart, their influence is far beyond that of ordinary people!

The speed at which talent and occupation are generated is indeed closely related to the strength and status of the person.

Shinichi's gaze fell on the two coexisting occupations on the panel: [Apprentice Swordsman] and [Ninja Academy Student].

As Shinichi had previously speculated, before occupation can be recognized and accepted by the system, it must first be acknowledged and accepted by a certain system, tradition, or authority.

Although his swordsmanship teacher, Yamashita Hideji, had settled in Konoha at the beginning of the village, he was from the Land of Iron and was a samurai, representing a samurai and swordsmanship tradition that was even older than the ninja system.

Gaining his approval and beginning his training is equivalent to receiving official endorsement of the swordsman profession within that system.

The Konoha Ninja Academy, on the other hand, is the orthodox and official starting point for training ninjas, recognized by the entire village and even the entire Shinobi World.

The moment one completes the registration procedures and formally enrolls, one is incorporated into the bottom layer of the grand professional system of Ninja and obtains the most basic official identity certification.

"Then why can't a blacksmith or a cook work?"

A new question arose in Shinichi's mind: Blacksmithing and cooking are also stable, inherited professions, and they even existed much earlier than ninjas.

Does this system of inheritance require extraordinary power or the application of Chakra to form corresponding professions?

But as far as he knew, there were indeed craftsmen and cooks in the Shinobi World who used Chakra for forging and cooking.

"Is it because I haven't received the necessary approval? or is it...?"

His gaze sharpened slightly as he grasped the key difference, and his thoughts began to clear.

However, Shinichi did not delve into it further, as he had more practical matters to attend to at the moment.

The answer may be revealed when he enters Konoha Hospital and formally studies pharmacology, medicine, and medical Ninjutsu.

He walked out of the school gate, picked up the conspicuous boulder again, and began his run around Konoha with the weight on his back.

The heavy footsteps struck the ground once more, attracting curious or surprised glances from those along the way.

"Upgrades must be made as soon as possible."

As he ran, his mind swept over the row of white talents on his system panel: [Diligent (White)], [Strong (White)].

These were the results of his years of hard work and the foundation for leveraging even greater power in the future.

Every time he sweated profusely and pushed his limits under the watchful eyes of others, he was consolidating and reinforcing these impressions.

An hour later, a completely exhausted Shinichi returned to his new residence.

A week ago, he moved out of the orphanage and rented this slightly run-down little apartment.

Moving away was not only for the convenience of movement, but also meant that the stage for him to build his persona had officially expanded, from the area around the orphanage to the area around the Ninja Academy, and even radiating to the entire Hidden Leaf Village.

He closed the door, cutting off all outside sight.

Leaning against the wall, he slowly calmed his breathing, and the deliberately maintained calm expression on his face relaxed, revealing genuine exhaustion, though his eyes remained clear.

He stepped into the cramped kitchen, and his years of experience helping out in the kitchen at the orphanage, coupled with a year of actual work at a restaurant, honed his culinary skills to a high standard.

The ingredients were handled swiftly and efficiently, and soon the aroma of the simple meal filled the air.

Sitting at the table, Shinichi picked up his rice bowl and ate very quickly, his body seemingly instinctively knowing how to absorb every calorie and nutrient more fully and efficiently.

Although the meal was short, his physical strength, which had been depleted, was restored to some extent, and even his mental fatigue was reduced considerably.

[Foodie (White): You possess an extraordinary passion and discerning eye for food, allowing you to absorb nutrients more efficiently and derive extra satisfaction and energy from it.]

That night, after another round of training, Shinichi carefully washed up, changed into clean clothes, and then turned his attention back to his system panel deep in his consciousness.

His gaze fell on the column for the number of draws.

Number of draws: 1 (White)

In addition to granting training benefits related to that profession, the generation of professional talent will also give him an extra chance to draw a talent that is completely random and does not rely on external knowledge.

Two months ago, when the Apprentice Swordsman occupation was condensed, he received his first chance to draw a talent and, from it, obtained the calm talent.

[Calm (White): When faced with crises, battles, or unexpected situations, you are more likely to remain calm, thus avoiding external distractions and focusing on developing a strategy.]

Shinichi had mixed feelings about the result. The value of this talent itself is undeniable. Being able to remain calm and think clearly in times of crisis is an extremely important quality for a ninja.

However, he believed he could generate this talent by creating a persona.

However, he had too little time.

In the early days, in order to quickly obtain the talents of Diligent, Strong, Resilient and Agile, he had to do some things that seemed out of place and even worrying.

Especially the Resilient talent. In order to generate this talent as quickly as possible, he even put the location where he was beaten at the street corner, just so that more people could see it and leave an impression.

Such an overly unconventional behavior is naturally inconsistent with the calm persona.

Now, the second chance to draw has arrived, and the source is this morning's [Ninja Academy Student].

What will he get this time?

Shinichi took a deep breath to calm his slightly accelerated heartbeat and focused his mind on the faintly glowing words "1 (White)."

There were no flashy special effects, and no long waits.

It was as if only a faint ripple passed through his field of vision, and the text on the panel had already changed.

Number of draws: None

In the talent attribute column, right after [Calm (White)], a new line of text quietly appeared.
