Chapter 3 - Ch. 3 new purpose

Days passed after I made that decision.

I forced myself to stay quiet… to stop crying… to act like a normal baby.

On the outside, everything seemed better.

But inside… nothing had changed.

The pain was still there.

Silent. Heavy. Waiting.

One night, I woke up suddenly.

The room was dark and quiet.

For a moment, I didn't know where I was.

Then it came back—

Everything.

My past life… my family… my death.

My chest felt tight.

Even without understanding why, my small body began to tremble.

I miss them…

The thought slipped out before I could stop it.

And then—

I heard a soft sound beside me.

I turned slightly.

My new mother was there.

Sitting beside me.

Watching me.

Her eyes were tired… red… as if she hadn't slept properly for days.

"Why are you like this, beta…" she whispered softly.

Her voice…

It wasn't loud.

It wasn't dramatic.

But it carried something deeper—

Fear.

Love.

Helplessness.

She gently picked me up in her arms and held me close.

I could feel her heartbeat.

Fast… uneasy… worried.

"Please be okay…" she murmured.

That moment—

Something inside me broke.

I had been so lost in my own pain…

That I never truly saw hers.

This woman—

She didn't know me.

She didn't know my past.

Yet she was suffering…

Just because of me.

My mind went silent.

And for the first time since my rebirth…

I asked myself a different question—

What about this life?

I had lost my old family.

That pain would never disappear.

But right now…

I had someone else in front of me.

Someone who cared.

Someone who was afraid of losing me—

Just like I was afraid of losing them.

A strange warmth spread through my chest.

Not replacing the pain…

But standing beside it.

Slowly, my tiny fingers moved—

Weak… unsteady…

And I grabbed her finger.

She froze.

Then her grip tightened slightly… as if she was afraid I might disappear.

In that silent moment—

I made a choice.

I cannot go back.

But I can protect what I have now.

I would not forget my past.

But I would not let it destroy my present either.

This life…

I will live it properly.

Not just for myself—

But for the people who are here with me now.

And for the first time since my rebirth…

My crying stopped

As the months passed, my condition slowly began to improve.

The constant weakness faded, and little by little, I started to recover.

My cries became fewer… my body stronger… my expressions calmer.

Seeing this change, my family finally found some peace.

The worry that once filled the house slowly disappeared, replaced by relief and quiet happiness.

My mother, who had grown weak from stress and sleepless nights, also began to recover.

Her smile returned—soft at first, but slowly becoming brighter with each passing day.

And then, something happened that no one expected.

At just eight months…

I spoke.

A small, simple word—but clear enough to be understood.

For a moment, the room went silent.

Then—

Joy exploded.

My parents looked at each other in disbelief. My mother's eyes filled with tears, but this time, they were tears of happiness.

"He spoke… he really spoke!"

The news spread through the entire family within minutes.

Calls, laughter, excitement—everyone wanted to hear it again.

That day became unforgettable.

In celebration, my family decided to do something special.

Instead of keeping the happiness to themselves, they shared it.

That evening, they arranged a dinner at a nearby orphanage.

The place, once quiet and simple, was soon filled with laughter, food, and warmth.

Children smiled, played, and enjoyed the moment without worry.

And in the middle of it all…

I lay in my mother's arms, watching everything quietly.

For the first time since my rebirth…

I felt something light in my heart.

Not pain.

Not confusion.

Just… happiness.
