Chapter 4 - Ch. 4 one year old

I am now one year old.

Well… physically.

Mentally? Still the same overthinking adult.

After spending a full year in this world, observing everything carefully (and pretending to be a normal baby), I have finally come to some important conclusions.

Conclusion Number 1:

Not all movies have become reality.

Sadly… or maybe thankfully.

Because if everything worked like movies, life would be extremely chaotic.

Conclusion Number 2:

Yes, heroes do have heroines here…

But—

They do NOT start dancing in the middle of the road.

No sudden background music.

No random backup dancers appearing from nowhere.

Honestly, a little disappointing.

I was low-key waiting for someone to start a full dance sequence in traffic.

Anyone who has watched Bollywood movies will understand my pain. 😜

Conclusion Number 3:

Just like in novels… heroes here seem to have something like a protagonist halo.

Things somehow work in their favor.

Luck bends around them.

Situations adjust.

It's like an invisible shield that protects what they care about.

Convenient… but suspicious.

And last, but definitely not least—

Conclusion Number 4:

Just like other reborn protagonists…

I also have a system.

Yeah.

Took it long enough. 😑

I mean, I've been waiting for this since day one.

Almost died, got reborn, suffered emotional trauma—

And NOW you decide to show up?

Great timing. Truly impressive. 👏

Anyway…

Let's see what kind of "amazing" future you have planned for me. 😏

Alright… let's properly introduce my new family.

And trust me—this one is not ordinary.

First… my mom.

How do I even describe her?

If beauty had a standard… she would be the reference.

Seriously, she looks like a straight-up Bollywood heroine—elegant, graceful, and the kind of beauty that doesn't need effort.

Even without makeup, she shines.

If cameras existed in my hands right now, I would've already made her viral. 📸

"Natural beauty detected. Internet would approve instantly." 😌

But her looks are just one part.

She is gentle, patient, and caring in a way that makes you feel safe just by being near her.

After everything I've been through…

That kind of warmth matters more than anything.

Now… my father.

This is where things get interesting.

Because my father…

is a woman.

Yeah. You heard that right.

Even in the year 2000… in a place like India, where you can find conservative thinking on almost every street…

My parents are a couple.

And honestly?

Just thinking about the kind of struggles they must have faced…

It gives me respect for them on a whole different level.

Society is not kind to people who are different.

But they still chose to live their truth.

That alone… makes them strong.

At first, I was confused.

How did this even work?

How did they get together?

But then… I saw my father properly.

And suddenly—everything made sense.

She has this rare charm…

A mix of elegance, confidence, and a kind of bold attractiveness that's hard to describe.

Not just beautiful—

cool.

The kind of person who walks into a room and automatically owns it.

If I had to explain it in modern terms—

She's the type people would call:

"Too powerful. Main character energy." 😎

Honestly…

If I were a woman—

I wouldn't even think twice.

Marriage confirmed. ✔️

Together, my parents feel like an unexpected but perfect combination.

One is soft and calming…

The other is strong and confident…

And somehow, they balance each other perfectly.

This family…

It may not fit into society's "normal" definition—

But to me?

It already feels more real than anything else.

Now… let's talk about society.

Because no matter how peaceful your life is—

Society always finds a way to disturb it.

People talk.

They always do.

Neighbors whisper when we pass.

Relatives judge with polite smiles.

"This is not normal…"

"What kind of family is this?"

I may be a child in their eyes…

But I understand everything.

Every look.

Every tone.

Every hidden insult.

One day, a few relatives came to visit.

The atmosphere in the house changed instantly.

Fake smiles. Forced conversations.

I was in my mother's arms when one of them spoke—

"You should think about the child's future."

"Growing up in this kind of environment… it's not right."

Silence filled the room.

My mother didn't reply.

My father's expression didn't change.

But I saw it.

That small flicker in their eyes.

Pain… hidden behind calmness.

Something inside me… snapped.

A strange heat rose in my chest.

Anger.

Not loud… not explosive…

But deep.

Who are they to judge?

What do they even know about us?

My tiny fingers clenched unconsciously.

For the first time since my rebirth—

I truly wanted power.

Not for myself…

But to protect them.

And then—

[Ding…]

The sound was faint…

But it echoed clearly inside my mind.

Everything froze for a moment.

[Condition met.]

[Emotional threshold exceeded.]

My breath stopped.

[Activating System…]

A cold sensation spread through my body—

Not painful… but overwhelming.

Words appeared in front of my vision.

[ System Initialized.]

My heart pounded.

Finally…

Protect what you cherish.

My eyes slowly turned toward my parents.

Still calm… still silent… still enduring.

Something inside me settled.

The anger didn't disappear—

It changed.

It became… determination.

I understand now.

This system didn't come to make me powerful for no reason.

It came because I finally had something worth protecting.

Slowly…

A small smile appeared on my face.

This time—

Not mischievous.

Not childish.

But firm.

Let them talk…

I'll make sure—

One day…

No one dares to look down on this family again.
