Chapter 2 - Welcome to the Cage

After being thrown back into the padded room, my legs gave out. I collapsed onto the floor, the coldness of the room seeping into my body

As I slowly drifted back to consciousness, the first thing I realized was the absence of pressure on my ribs. The straitjacket was gone. Instead, my body was dressed in a set of pristine, white scrubs. I cautiously moved my arms. Just the simple movement of my arms felt like an incredible luxury after being confined for so long.

Then I noticed the addition to my cell. A television had been installed on the wall. It was powered on, but the screen displayed nothing but a sea of gray static, emitting a low, electric hiss.

I reached up, my trembling fingers touched the spot where they punctured my neck. I rubbed the punctured skin where the thick needles had pierced me over and over. What did those monsters do to me? Suddenly, the static hitched.

The TV had caught a signal. The screen came to life, and the melody of a song began to play through the tiny speakers.

The moment the first notes of the song hit my ears, my reality shattered. An agonizing pain ripped through my skull, infinitely worse than the burning of the substances they had injected into my veins. It felt like my brain was being torn apart from the inside. I dropped to my knees, clutching my head,I tried to breath but i couldn't my lungs gave out and my nose started to bleed the the droplets of blood dropping on the scrubs staining them i fall down the floor my heart seems to slow as my vision darkens.

Over the ringing in my ears, the heavy steel door clicked open. Two masked men stepped inside. They didn't speak. They just grabbed me by my newly freed arms, dragging my limp, thrashing body out of the cell and down the blindingly bright hallway.

Through my tear-filled, blurry vision, I saw where they were taking me. We were approaching a heavy metal door. Above it, a stark black sign read a single word:

Conditioning.
