(After 1 hour)
I came out wearing a black hoodie, white jeans with sneakers, and my hair let down in waves. I picked up my phone, glanced at the time, and grabbed my luggage.
(Downstairs)
I entered the living room and dropped my luggage at the entrance.
"Lexy, is that you?" my mom called from the kitchen.
I sighed and walked toward the kitchen. Mom glanced at me, then continued what she was doing.
"Lexy, come and help me pack Jace's food," Mom said.
"Why are you packing the food? Can't he eat now?" I asked coldly as I joined her at the counter.
"No, we're already late. Any more delay and you might miss your first lecture," Mom said anxiously.
Footsteps rang out. I glanced toward the kitchen entrance to see Jace running in.
"Jace, would you stop running? You can hurt yourself," Mom said, frowning.
"Okay, Mom," Jace said with a grin as he stopped at the kitchen doorway.
"Hi, big sis," he said, waving at me.
I smiled slightly and pinched his cheeks.
"How was your night?" I asked.
"It was great… I even had a dream, it was ab—" Jace said excitedly.
"As much as I'd hate to interrupt your little discussion, we're late, so you'll have to continue your story later, Jace," Mom said as she finished packing his meal.
"Don't bother, I'm not eating," I said as I held Jace's hand.
Mom handed Jace his packed breakfast.
"When you're done, meet me at the car," I said as I left the kitchen with him.
(Outside)
I placed the luggage in the boot and got into the front seat.
Mom came out a few minutes later.
"Jace, I hope you didn't forget anything inside?" Mom asked as she got into the car and started the engine.
"Nope," Jace said with a grin.
"What about you, Lexy?" Mom asked as she glanced at me.
I looked at her with raised brows.
"And that's a no," Mom muttered as she drove off.
(After 40 mins)
"We're here," Mom said as she stopped in front of the huge gate.
I opened my eyes and glanced outside.
"This is as far as I can go. The security said we can't enter, so you'll have to manage from here," Mom said as she got down.
I nodded and stepped out too.
Mom opened the boot and brought out my luggage. I took it and turned around to see Jace standing behind me with a sad look.
"What's wrong?" I asked with a sigh.
"Are you going to come visit me and Mom frequently?" Jace asked, looking down.
"Yes, I will. I'm not going anywhere. This place isn't far from home, so I'll come often," I said with a slight smile.
"Okay, sis… I'll miss you," Jace said as he fiddled with his fingers.
I sighed and opened my arms.
"Come here," I said as I squatted down.
Jace grinned and threw himself into my arms. I hugged him back softly.
After a while, I pulled away gently.
"Okay, I've gotta go. Be good," I said as I turned and walked away.
Jace stared at my back for a while before getting into the car with Mom.
I dragged my luggage as I glanced around, only to see a man in uniform walking toward me.
I stopped and looked at him with raised brows.
"Hello ma'am, did you just arrive?" The man asked as he stopped in front of me.
I nodded.
"And who are you?" I asked coldly.
"I'm part of the college security team… are you looking for your class?" he asked.
I nodded again.
"It's in that direction," the man said, pointing ahead.
"Thank you," I said as I grabbed my luggage and started walking.
"Excuse me, ma'am… I can help you drop your luggage at your dorm. It won't be convenient dragging it to class," he added.
I glanced at him for a moment, then nodded.
"Thank you," I said coldly as I handed him my luggage and walked off.
"Aah… where is this college finding all these pretty girls?" the man muttered as he picked up the luggage.
I followed his directions and arrived in front of a magnificent building filled with artistic designs.
I walked through the hallways for a while before stopping in front of a partially open door.
I pushed it open and stepped in.
(Inside)
I glanced around as I entered.
"Sorry, I'm late," I said coldly to the beautiful young woman speaking.
