Chapter 12 - New Skill; -Body Illusion Clone-

'Wow, the energy I just obtained I am already going to spend it…' Renelle complained in her heart.

After leaving the hallway that led to the staff area, Renelle put her hand into the pocket of her rebellious nineties-style pants and, without anyone noticing, threw the bill with a simple diamond-shaped origami.

As if by magic, while Renelle was being guided by the hand by Cameron and followed by Chase, the diamond-shaped bill seemed to be guided by the wind without anyone noticing.

The one-dollar bill with the face of George Washington looked like a small rebel spaceship while dodging attacks from the empire, dodging feet and objects until it reached a hallway on the other side and then entered under a door.

Meanwhile, Renelle, Cameron, and Chase arrived at the elevator doors and waited.

But when the elevator arrived and with a ding the doors opened, everyone heard the voice of a mature man with a mocking tone and English accent.

"Wow, I must congratulate Doctor Cameron for solving the case. Now, if you will allow me, I will take this little one who escaped from home back…"

House appeared from behind and extended his hand to grab Renelle.

"Doctor House, are you not going to check on the patient?"

"For what? If she is already diagnosed and under treatment, is she not?"

"I was not the one who solved the case, it was Renelle, ahem, your daughter…" Cameron felt a little embarrassed. But she took advantage of the circumstances to observe House's reaction.

"Oh. Then Cameron's bonus will have to be canceled…" House said in his usual mocking tone and once again stretched out his hand to hold Renelle.

But Cameron interposed herself again and pushed Renelle backward.

'What is this woman doing?' was Renelle's thought.

"Doctor, are you not going to ask why your daughter is in the hospital?"

"Eh… Why are you in the hospital?"

"I was bored at home…" Renelle answered without more.

'I must be a great actor. I think all this time I have been in the wrong profession.' Renelle thought to herself upon seeing that she was acting as two people.

Yes, the middle-aged Doctor House with poorly trimmed beard, tired eyes, and graying hair who supported himself on a cane was the new ability she had just invented: -Body Illusion Clone-.

Using the dollar as a transmission antenna and the cane she had used for five years in this life as energy storage, Renelle had managed to create an illusion outside her body, recreating the form and figure of Doctor House of almost forty years old.

Although it was an interesting form and Renelle wanted to keep playing, she had also realized that maintaining this illusion consumed a lot of energy, double what it consumed to maintain the illusion on her own body. In addition, the farther away the clone was, the more energy it would consume.

Renelle had calculated that she had a couple of hours at most to maintain the illusion and that she would faint from consuming all her energy if she went over more than two hours.

"Another case solved. If you will excuse me, it is time for -Father and Daughter Quality Time-. They say one must create bonds." House once again stretched out his hand to take Renelle's, who also stretched out hers.

Cameron could not interpose herself because what House said held a truth. Besides, Renelle herself had also accepted. What more could she say…?

Until Cameron saw Renelle's clothes and an idea occurred to her.

"Wait!" Cameron took a step forward to stop House.

Chase had only stayed looking without saying anything, but he was astonished by Cameron's insistence on stopping House. Chase wondered what Cameron was thinking.

As for House, both he and she turned around to look at Cameron.

"What?"

"How can you take her home just like that?"

"What is wrong with it?" This time House was confused. Renelle and House looked each other in the eyes.

Of course, Renelle felt that she was looking at a puppet she controlled like a ventriloquist.

It was the first time she used that extracorporeal illusion clone ability. Although she stood supported by Cameron, she only had to control House's walking.

Of course, with House walking slowly with a cane, no one found it strange, giving Renelle time to get used to it and learn.

There were also the double -five senses-, although for now she could only -See- and -Hear- with this -clone-.

So now Renelle's brain was receiving sensory information from the clone that, if she did not concentrate, could make her feel dizzy from having double vision.

Although it was complicated and she had to work hard to get used to it, Renelle was happy that she could create a -Gregory House- and not be like Clark Kent who had to disappear for Superman to appear.

'This girl does not want to go with us, I mean, with me, right…?'

"Do you not see the clothes Renelle is wearing? She surely does not even have a basic necessity product like a toothbrush or feminine towels, right?"

"Feminine towels?" The clone House froze.

'What is this girl talking about? Why would I need feminine towels!...' Renelle complained in her heart, but then she remembered her current state and lowered her gaze to look at her own body.

Despite the men's clothes cut with scissors, they could not hide her body. The belt was tightened so much so that the adult men's pants would not fall off, which caused a tiny waist to show.

When Renelle raised her gaze, she noticed the strange looks from the people around her in the hospital lobby. But the looks were not directed at her but at her clone.

"Doctor House, you still cannot leave. Doctor Cuddy said that you have to do at least one hour of clinic."

A voice of an adult woman was heard from the side. At the reception, a somewhat older nurse around forty years old spoke to House.

Then Renelle also remembered that the dean of the hospital Cuddy had forced him to cover the clinic hours he owed.

"Plaf — plaf Well, great! Then I will accompany little Renelle shopping and then take her to dinner and afterward home. Give me the keys to your house and your card…"

Cameron clapped a couple of times cheerfully and with a smile, extended her hand with the palm up toward House and with her other hand took Renelle by the hand and pulled her toward herself.

Renelle did not know how things had reached this point nor why this young doctor who was her employee was so persistent in being with him, or with her young version.

So Cameron easily took her by the hand and moved her away from House.

"House!" Cameron spoke a little loudly.

Renelle woke up and took control of her clone again.

"Here are my wallet and keys…" the clone House pointed at Renelle and said.

Renelle put her free hand into her pocket and took out the wallet and some keys.

"Why does Renelle have your wallet and keys? Never mind. Let us go, Renelle, shopping. Let me show you a little of the city, hehehe~"

"Cameron, and the patient?" House replied from behind. But Cameron did not turn around.

"Let Chase and Foreman take care of everything. Renelle, let me register my departure first, okay?"

"Cameron, I can accompany you…" Chase said from behind, taking a step forward, but was interrupted by Cameron.

"It is not necessary. Stay with House and Foreman~" Cameron did not even turn around.

Renelle turned backward and had a thoughtful concern: 'If I move too far away, will the clone not disappear?'

"Doctor Cameron marks her departure. It is four thirty-five in the afternoon." Renelle heard Cameron's voice speaking to a nurse at the hospital reception.

Cameron passed a card and wrote in a book that the nurse handed her.

The nurse greeted Renelle but she only nodded.

Afterward, guided by the hand by Cameron again toward the hallway they had just come from not long ago, Cameron led Renelle toward the staff changing room.

"Wait a moment. I will only take my bag and we will go." Cameron approached a locker and opened it with familiarity. She took a dark-colored woman's bag and a coat that was hanging on the locker door.

Afterward and quickly she took Renelle by the hand again and they went out with a soft but quick step.

When Renelle exited the hospital, the cold of the city of New Jersey made her shiver.

"Are you cold? I do not know how House has not gotten you a coat. Put on mine."

"It is not necessary…"

"Come on, do not worry. I have the doctor's coat that keeps me warm."

"You left the coat in the changing room…" Renelle commented with a pout, but Cameron had already placed her coat over her.

"Cameron…"

"Call me Allison~"

"Uhm… Allison. And where are we going? Do you have a car?"

Renelle's questions stopped Allison for a moment. Cameron did not have an automobile and the places where she went to buy clothes had a marked professional style and that type of clothing did not fit a small girl like the one she was holding by the hand at her side.

So Cameron stayed thinking about where to go shopping…

But while Cameron was distracted thinking, she did not notice that Renelle was looking back toward the hospital and her eyes showed a little surprise.
