Chapter 11 - Chapter 11: The Awakening of the Sealed One

Everything went black.

But darkness didn't last.

Len felt something cold crawling over his skin, like invisible chains wrapping around his arms and pulling him through a void. He gasped, but no sound came. His vision flickered—flashes of red, shadows swirling, a heartbeat echoing like thunder.

Then—

A loud crack of light split the darkness.

Len fell forward, hitting solid ground. The air rushed back into his lungs. His ears rang, but his mind raced with one thought:

"Arin… where is she?"

He pushed himself up slowly. His surroundings were bizarre—

A huge circular chamber of black stone, symbols glowing faintly on the walls. It wasn't the library basement anymore.

He had been transported.

Or worse… abducted.

Before he could gather himself, a soft voice echoed through the chamber.

"Len… are you awake?"

He turned sharply.

Arin sat on the cold floor, hugging her knees, her clothes dusty and torn. There was fear in her eyes—but also guilt.

Len rushed to her.

"Are you hurt?"

She shook her head weakly.

"Not yet."

He frowned.

"What is going on? What was that thing calling you a vessel?"

Arin's lips trembled.

She finally spoke.

"A thousand years ago… a powerful entity was sealed by the ancient sects. That stone tablet was the seal. And my bloodline… is the key that controls it."

Len blinked.

"Your… bloodline?"

Arin nodded, eyes glistening with emotion she could no longer hide.

"My ancestors made a contract with that entity. Every generation… one descendant becomes its vessel. And it chose me."

Len froze.

"Why didn't you tell me?"

Her voice cracked—a mix of fear and vulnerability.

"Because anyone who knows the truth is hunted. I didn't want you to die because of me."

Len clenched his fists.

"So your plan was to deal with all this alone?"

Before she could answer, the ground rumbled beneath them.

A heavy presence filled the chamber—like a giant awakening from a long sleep.

A shadow formed at the far end of the room.

Slowly… a tall humanoid silhouette emerged.

Its body was shaped like smoke and fire, its eyes glowing scarlet.

The sealed entity.

It spoke with a voice that echoed through the entire domain:

"Vessel… you have finally returned."

Arin's breathing stopped.

She clutched Len's arm unconsciously.

Len stepped in front of her.

"You're not taking her."

The shadow laughed, a chilling sound.

"Little outsider… you interfere with contracts you do not understand."

Len glared.

"What do you want from her?!"

The entity lifted its smoky arm, pointing at Arin.

"Her soul… her power… and her destiny. She belongs to me."

Arin flinched.

Len felt rage ignite in his chest.

But before he could act, the system blared urgently:

[Warning: Hostile entity detected.]

[Power level: Unable to calculate.]

The shadow moved.

In an instant, it appeared right before them—its face inches from Len's.

He barely had time to shield Arin.

A blast of energy hurled both of them backward.

Len crashed into a stone wall, coughing hard.

His vision blurred, but he forced himself to stand.

Arin crawled to him.

"Len… you can't fight it. It's too strong!"

He laughed bitterly.

"Yeah? Well, I don't have a choice."

The entity raised both arms—the chamber trembled violently. The symbols on the walls lit up brighter.

The shadow's voice deepened:

"Vessel—come. Complete the bond."

Arin screamed as invisible chains wrapped around her wrists, dragging her toward the entity.

She struggled.

"Len—!!"

Len sprinted forward.

But a wall of pressure slammed him down. He crawled on the floor, fighting the crushing force.

His mind screamed:

"Arin… I won't let you be taken!"

The shadow lowered its head, whispering:

"You are powerless here, outsider."

Len's system flickered violently.

Then a new, foreign notification appeared—something he had never seen before.

[Emergency Awakening Protocol Detected]

[Dormant Ability — 'Soulfire Vein' — unlocking… 12%… 37%… 79%…]

The sealed entity paused.

Its smoky eyes widened.

"You… how can you possess that power?"

Len's body began glowing—

Sparks of blue fire crackled around him.

Heat surged through his veins like molten energy.

Arin's eyes widened in shock and hope.

"Len… your body… it's transforming!"

Len stood, his fists blazing with blue fire.

The shadow snarled.

"Impossible… that power belongs only to the Ancient Sovereigns!"

Len smirked through the pain.

"Then maybe they left a little gift for me."

He charged.

The chamber erupted in explosions of blue and red light as Len clashed with the entity. Fire and shadows collided, the shockwaves shaking the entire domain.

Arin could barely watch.

But amidst the chaos—

A crack formed on the seal behind the entity.

The shadow turned, sensing danger.

"No… not now—!"

But it was too late.

The seal shattered completely.

A blinding surge of energy burst through the domain—

Len shielded Arin with all his strength.

The last thing he heard was:

"The true awakening… begins now."

Then—

Everything turned silent.

The ground disappeared under their feet.

And Len and Arin fell—

straight into another unknown realm.
