Chapter 52 - 52

Chapter 83: The Military Police's Overturned Vehicle Case

Rebecca began to take out bandages and hemostatic agents to stop Edward's bleeding, while also feeling a bit alarmed. Those wild dogs were too formidable; one bite directly tore off a chunk of flesh!

Eddie watched silently. This was definitely going to get infected. Since he had been bitten, he could only wait for death. The T-Virus would spread physically; air was not a vector for infection.

"What kind of monsters are those?" Kenneth still had lingering fears, looking at the Zombie Dogs outside whose two eerie green eyes glowed in the night. Seeing these monsters again still filled him with dread.

"I don't know what infected them. Strange, I always have a bad feeling." Eddie frowned, then pulled out a grenade, pulled the pin, and threw it out.

One Zombie Dog even jumped up and swallowed the grenade, only to be blown to smithereens by the explosion the next second. Several surrounding Zombie Dogs were also affected, blown into pieces, their bodies still burning with flames.

"Good! Blast those sons of bitches to death!" Richard roared, boosting morale.

"It hurts so much! Damn it, those monsters aren't like wild dogs at all. Wild dog bites don't hurt this much!" Edward cried out in pain.

Eddie frowned, "I think it's best to get a check-up when we get back. I always feel like we've been set up, that this is a trap. The helicopter's propeller developed cracks for no reason, and the landing site had so many monster dogs lying in ambush. If you told me it was a coincidence, I'd almost believe it."

Svetlana said nothing. Even in this situation, she wasn't afraid at all. While the Zombie Dogs looked ferocious, once their characteristics were understood, they weren't that terrifying. Even bare-handed, Svetlana was confident she could kill these Zombie Dogs!

"We'll investigate this matter when we get back. For now, let's clear out these monsters. Dury, you'll need to inspect the helicopter later. Everyone, be careful. Rebecca, take good care of Edward." Enrico issued an order.

"It's fine, I'm not that fragile. I'm much better now. I'm going to shoot those damn bastards, otherwise I can't stand this!" Edward struggled up, took out his rifle, and began to aim.

At this moment, Edward's marksmanship was clearly displayed. Every rifle bullet accurately hit the Zombie Dogs' heads, giving them a headshot!

It took twenty minutes to clear out the surrounding Zombie Dogs. These Zombie Dogs infected with the T-Virus had one advantage: they wouldn't retreat and weren't afraid of death. While attacking, they still retained certain biological mechanisms, knowing how to dodge fatal blows.

After inspecting, the pilot Dury said, "The helicopter can no longer be repaired. It can only be transported away by another helicopter."

"Then pick up a weapon and join our search. It's too dangerous to stay here. Edward, how are you?" Enrico asked.

"I'm fine, I can join the fight. This is just a minor injury." Edward gave himself a thumbs up, indicating he was in good condition.

Enrico nodded, "Alright, then we'll split into teams of three. Kenneth, Edward, Richard, you three are one group. Eddie, Rebecca, you two are with Instructor Svetlana. Foster, Dury, you two are with me. Begin the investigation now, be careful, report immediately if you encounter an ambush, and everyone support each other."

The group began to split up. Eddie started searching ahead with the two beauties, holding a submachine gun and constantly looking around.

"Your serious look actually makes me find it a bit amusing." Svetlana teased.

"Why?" Eddie asked, puzzled.

"I thought everything was under your control, but it seems you can be scared too, little man!" Svetlana laughed playfully, inadvertently displaying the charm of a mature woman.

"Don't joke around, this isn't the time for jokes. It's so eerie here. If you want to talk to me properly, let's talk slowly back at the apartment. My room is spacious enough, and for a beauty as stunning as you, we can talk for as long as you like." Eddie retorted, teasing her back.

"Go to hell!" Svetlana spat, turning her head to look elsewhere. She was just trying to ease the tension between them; leading two rookies, her pressure wasn't small either.

Rebecca smiled without speaking, seemingly many older sisters' auras could completely suppress Eddie.

The three walked and talked, observing their surroundings. Occasionally, one or two zombies appeared and were immediately shot in the head.

Before long, Rebecca discovered an overturned transport vehicle. There were many escorting military police around, all of whom were dead without exception. They seemed to have been attacked and killed by some strange creature, and their deaths were extremely gruesome.

Eddie frowned. Wasn't this the vehicle transporting the prisoner Billy? Especially the leech crawling marks on it made him even more troubled.

Eddie and Svetlana exchanged glances, both seeing the confusion in each other's eyes. "Do you find it strange?"

"Definitely strange. How could well-trained military police be wiped out in an attack? And there's another question: transporting a prisoner through Highway in the middle of the night doesn't look like standard procedure, especially with the Arklay Mountains being so dangerous at night." Eddie analyzed.

"Looks like you're not stupid after all! There's definitely something wrong here. Do you want to meddle in this?" Svetlana raised an eyebrow.

"I don't want to meddle, but it's okay to take a look occasionally. Since we've encountered it, we should report it anyway." Eddie shrugged.

Rebecca, meanwhile, found a document next to the overturned vehicle. This vehicle was transporting a prisoner named Billy. "Eddie, they were transporting a prisoner, but there's no sign of that prisoner at the scene."

Eddie nodded, picked up the walkie-talkie, and said, "Calling Captain, this is Eddie. We've found a transport vehicle about one kilometer at seven o'clock from the helicopter. This is a military police vehicle transporting a prisoner. We've found that the prisoner here is missing, and the military police have been completely wiped out. Please respond!"

"Received, received. We're heading over now. Kenneth, you all come too, don't stray too far." Squad leader Enrico didn't dare to spread his team members too thin; it was truly too dangerous here. No wonder so many mountain hikers died!

"Received, received. We're coming over immediately. We've also found some things." Kenneth's voice came through the walkie-talkie.

Chapter 84: The Fierce Svetlana

Jill, far away in Europe, was not idle. Aside from the initial morning sickness, there were no negative side effects; the serum seemed to make Jill even healthier.

Jill took Sherry to find Excella. Jill felt no threat from this Euro-African mixed-race woman with aristocratic temperament. She already had Eddie's child, and in terms of beauty, she was second to none, often praised by Eddie as his stunningly beautiful wife.

"You must be Excella. Hello, I'm Jill, and this is Sherry." Jill extended her hand, still wearing tactical clothing. She was very cautious; no one could be trusted here.

Excella shook her hand. "Hello, Jill. You are truly beautiful, which surprises me. Hello, Sherry, you are also a little beauty."

"Thank you!" Sherry bowed her head obediently. She was so well-behaved because her mother, Annette, had called her and said she would be reunited with her soon.

The Zodiac Express had already had an accident, and none of the passengers survived. If Annette, who was on the investigator list, went missing, she would also be presumed dead. This way, Annette could safely leave Umbrella, and no one would pursue her life or death.

"The matter my husband discussed with you, I wonder if you've handled it?" Jill nodded, immediately asserting her position as soon as she spoke.

A trace of surprise flashed in Excella's beautiful eyes. She truly hadn't expected Eddie to get married so quickly. But marriage was useless; in aristocratic circles, one could marry many, many wives, not just one.

"It's all taken care of, and construction is underway." Excella nodded. She was actually very curious why a laboratory needed to be built on a large cargo ship.

"That's good. Thank you for your trouble. I need to inspect it personally." Jill nodded. This was something Eddie had entrusted her with.

Using a large ocean liner as a base, in terms of living, the experience of a cruise ship would not lose to a villa. Secondly, cruise ships were very suitable for conversion into various different specifications of laboratories and storage rooms.

Furthermore, since the cargo ship could move, there was no need to worry about security issues. After loading weapons, its offensive power could also be enhanced, making it the most perfect ideal research institute base at present.

"That's naturally not a problem." Excella smiled. She had a desire, a desire to conquer the man named Eddie. She was very confident in her charm. If she could conquer him, then his valuable knowledge would definitely bring her huge benefits.

Annette, accompanied by Christine Yamata, also flew to Europe via a long-range fighter jet. This fighter jet was obtained by Wolf Mom Ruper through her connections.

Fifteen billion; money makes the world go 'round. It was just a fighter jet. Aviation rockets, as long as the price was right, could all be sold!

Everyone was proceeding according to the predetermined plan. Jill placed great importance on the construction of the cargo ship. This was her future home, and for her future child to have a good family environment, she had to work hard.

Sometimes Jill would feel a moment of realization. She was still so young, hadn't even truly enjoyed life yet, and was already going to be a mother. Was this perhaps a bit too fast?

However, it was only an occasional feeling of melancholy. Life seemed a bit too fast, too quickly led into the next chapter by Eddie.

While Jill was helping to inspect the ocean liner, the Bravo Team members reassembled, gathering by the overturned transport vehicle.

Squad leader Enrico knelt down, looking at the dead military police. "Now our objective has changed: to pursue this fugitive Billy! This murderer has killed so many people and cannot be forgiven! If the situation is urgent, he can be executed by firing squad!"

For armed criminals, it was permissible to shoot to kill, and in dangerous situations, it was also permissible to shoot to kill.

"Wait, Captain, we've discovered a strange building. It's a mysterious ancient structure, similar to a Mansion. In front of that building, we found many zombies and Zombie Dogs." Foster reported. Weren't those living dead just zombies?
