Chapter 95 - 95

With the emergence of the man-eating disease, Raccoon City was somewhat in turmoil, and all residents whose family members worked for Umbrella had disappeared without a trace.

This led to those who had lost their family members rioting, wanting to cause trouble and demand an explanation from Umbrella.

As soon as Eddie stood up, a young man walked out, picked up a shotgun he had bought from a weapons store, and fired directly at Eddie.

"Watch out!" Katherine instinctively shielded Eddie, and the shotgun pellets struck her back, instantly staining her clothes with blood.

Eddie never expected anyone to take a bullet for him, especially a woman, and one he wasn't particularly close to.

"Lisa, kill him, leave no evidence.

Jessica, take Katherine, we're going to the stadium." Eddie's eyes turned incredibly cold; someone was targeting him!

It wasn't necessary to know who; all he had to do was get revenge!

The young man with the shotgun had just run into an alley, thinking he had escaped, and the feeling of shooting and setting fires was truly exhilarating.

Before he could enjoy it for a few minutes, a delicate hand directly took his life.

He felt a sharp pain in his heart, then his consciousness plunged into an endless darkness, never to awaken again.

Arriving at the laboratory through a secret passage in the stadium, Eddie removed the shotgun pellets from Katherine.

Looking at Katherine, who had lost a lot of blood, he hesitated for a moment before placing her in a cryo-chamber and beginning to prepare the corresponding T-Virus.

For a complete recovery, a larger dose of T-Virus was needed.

Before that, it was essential to use a daylight vaccine and the body's own cells for cultivation to produce a new, enhanced T-Virus.

Relying solely on the T-Virus, one test tube could very likely turn her into a zombie or some other strange creature.

Today's headline news was about the riot that occurred near the Raccoon City pedestrian street.

Angry residents were destroying vehicles and houses, seemingly venting their frustration at Raccoon City's inaction and their fear of the recently appeared man-eating disease.

The reporter covering this news was still Alyssa, a woman who had always been very active in reporting various unknown events.

Compared to before, she seemed to have become much more reserved.

On Tortuga Island, the perennial cold currents kept the island's temperature very low.

This was the island where Alex held the most authority, and during her slumber, the work here continued as usual.

Even without Alex's presence, the research team here continued their work with immense fervor, all for that incredibly charismatic lady!

The laboratory was empty, and as the countdown ended, the computer began a comprehensive scan of the conditions in the culture tank.

After the test results matched expectations, even exceeding them, the solution in the culture tank began to recede.

The beautiful blonde woman sleeping in the cryo-chamber opened her hazy, beautiful eyes, a hint of confusion in her gaze, a characteristic expression after waking from slumber.

After Alex opened her eyes, as if a goddess had returned, she stepped out of the cryo-chamber, first finding her favorite pure white high heels and putting them on.

Standing in front of the computer, she looked at her test report: all data was perfect, and most importantly, the genetic defect she cared about most had been repaired!

This meant Alex would no longer suffer from the affliction that prevented her from gaining superhuman strength; she had successfully resolved her genetic defect!

All of this was a gift from her boyfriend, Eddie.

"This T-Virus is truly miraculous!" Alex murmured, looking at the computer report, her beautiful eyes fixed on the superhuman data.

She had finally obtained this power, and compared to before, she could feel that she was much younger, yet still maintained that attractive, mature charm.

Whoosh!

Alex only took less than three seconds to reach a facility fifty meters away.

This wasn't even her fastest, just an adaptation.

This rapid movement made her feel incredibly good; this was true power.

No wonder Spencer, that old man, was dedicated to researching the immortality virus; it truly existed!

Following the note Eddie left, after consuming a large amount of cooked food, Alex was surprised to find that she could eat two hundred pounds of food at once, including a large amount of meat.

She didn't feel full or uncomfortable; all the food was converted into energy by her powerful digestive system.

Her entire body felt warm, and clenching her fists produced crackling sounds of bones colliding, filled with a sense of power.

After professional combat and strength tests, all data showed her to be even stronger than the latest T-Type Tyrant, far surpassing the strongest bio-weapon in both strength and speed.

The most remarkable thing was that Alex didn't feel any decrease in her intelligence; her physical abilities were maximized while her intelligence remained unchanged.

If she hadn't had a genetic defect, she would have possessed superhuman strength like Albert, instead of existing as an ordinary person.

After a series of tests, Alex looked at one of her monitoring data with a very strange expression.

It showed that her pregnancy rate would be very high, which was very problematic; did T-Virus also have the effect of increasing the pregnancy rate?

"Congratulations, Miss, on your successful awakening.

The young master is still in Raccoon City, and the company is still monitoring him; everything is currently fine." Butler Stewart, upon being summoned, respectfully submitted the documents, his tone unusually humble, clearly captivated by Alex's charisma.

Stewart dared not look directly at Alex.

He could only feel that Miss's aura had become even more powerful, inspiring a desire to submit.

Sometimes he would wonder, how could that scumbag Eddie deserve to be the boyfriend of a Miss with such charisma?

"Prepare the plane; I need to go to the Antarctic Research Facility." Alex made a decision after just reading the newspaper.

She needed to help her man collect all possible T-Virus for research.

Chapter 157: Starting a New Life

Katherine, in her slumber, opened her beautiful eyes.

She had a terrible dream where she was abandoned by her father, and Raccoon City was overrun with man-eating disease patients, like hell itself.

She even saw Chief Brian killing others and turning them into specimens!

All of this scared her awake.

Waking up again, she felt a slight chill, as if she was in a secret space.

She also felt that she had become better, healthier, and much stronger.

"Alright, come out.

You've recovered." Eddie's voice sounded from outside the cryo-chamber.

Katherine, in a daze, walked out of the cryo-chamber.

She felt very hungry, so she began to continuously eat the prepared food.

Once Katherine had recovered, Eddie asked, "Why did you take a bullet for me back then?"

Actually, it wouldn't have mattered if she hadn't blocked it; Jessica and Lisa wouldn't have let anything happen to him, and he could have dodged the shotgun attack.

But being saved by a woman, it felt strange, especially when it wasn't necessary.

Katherine shook her head, "You're already so pitiful; at least nothing else can happen to you.

I have nothing; your life is more useful than mine!"

"Don't say that.

There's a bright side to everything; at least you still have me as a friend.

Alright, you've recovered, and I've also used a special method to make you stronger.

You can go back and experience it slowly, don't do anything foolish.

If you have any dark thoughts, you can always come to me." Eddie shook his head; this woman was truly pitiful.

Katherine seemed to think of something.

"Then I'll move to live near you.

That way we can look out for each other, and I'm a very good cook!"

"Whatever you want.

I still have things to do; be careful yourself.

Also, as a friend, I advise you: don't have any kindness.

Those man-eating disease patients are already infected; at least they're no longer human.

I don't want to hear that you've been eaten; I'll laugh at your foolishness." Eddie paused, then decided to warn her.

Katherine looked at Eddie, "Do you know something?"

"I'm also a drug researcher.

At least for now, there's no possibility of saving them.

Just listen to me; be careful yourself, and if there's nothing wrong, don't go out casually." Eddie warned.

"Alright, I believe you.

We're friends, aren't we?

Actually, I don't know what to do.

School's out now, and I don't need to work; I always feel so bored." Katherine suddenly smiled brightly.

She was very confused; at least for now, she had no direction.

"Then just be a housewife," Eddie said without thinking.

"Okay!

You said it; no backing out." Katherine suddenly extended her pinky finger, making a pinky promise gesture.

Pfft, only children make pinky promises.

Eddie frowned, "Alright, pinky promise.

I'll see you out; I still have things to do."

"Got it, got it.

I'll have dinner ready for you when you get back." Katherine smiled sweetly.

Eddie was helpless; what was this?

He didn't need someone to cook for him specifically; his two bodyguards were pretty good, at least they were skilled in combat and firearms, and especially picky about food.

At the Raccoon City Police Department, Eddie returned to work and ordered a large amount of afternoon tea.

Donuts, pizza, juice, fries, and so on; someone else was treating again.

In the busy police station, every detective greeted Eddie with a smile.

When you accept favors, it's necessary to say a few kind words.

Since the S.T.A.R.S. had been disbanded, Eddie was currently just an office archivist; in other words, he was just idling away his time.

"Violent incident in North Sanda District, man-eating disease patients sighted, need backup, need backup!" A hurried call came through, the situation seeming very urgent.

"Looks like I'll be busy again.

See you, Eddie." Kevin picked up his pistol and set off; his duty was to handle these violent incidents.

It seemed more and more attacks were occurring.

The infection in the Arklay Mountains had spread to the north; if they didn't deal with it quickly, at least large-scale mutation events would happen.

"There have been many such cases recently, and I don't know what strange illness they have.

Eddie, have you done any research?" asked a sweet-looking female officer with short, golden-blonde hair.

This female officer was also one of the ordinary people who escaped Raccoon City.

Although there was some luck involved, being able to escape with her life was a testament to her abilities.

It was common to work several jobs in the Western Federation.

Some people appeared to be detectives on the surface, but after work, they might become delivery drivers.

Even private lawyers would work at law firms during times when they didn't have cases to handle, just to earn money.

"This disease is very rare, somewhat similar to rabies.

As you know, rabies has no cure, only prevention.

If I had funding, perhaps I could research some antibody vaccines, but they wouldn't be very effective.

This stuff doesn't make any money at all, Rita, what do you think?" Eddie replied with a smile.

"You're right, hehe, but you're already very rich.

It must cost a lot to treat us to afternoon tea every day, right?" Rita smiled sweetly.

"Not much, really, not even a fraction of my money.

Money is for spending; otherwise, what's the point of keeping it?" Eddie said with a laugh.

At this moment, a serious-looking black police sergeant walked over; it was the diligent Marvin!

"Eddie, Chief Brian needs to see you; go ahead.

Rita, help out here, and by the way, your afternoon tea is excellent!"

"You're too kind." Eddie stood up and walked to Chief Brian's office.

Jessica and Lisa also followed him, and no one found it strange, except for being surprised by their height; otherwise, nothing seemed out of place.

Rich people hire bodyguards; poor people fend for themselves.
