Chapter 99 - 99

Arriving at the main gate, the dirt here seemed to have been plowed by excavators, only the concrete ground was still intact. Where there was no concrete, it looked as if a major earthquake had struck.

"Eddie, you came just in time. There's a monster here that suddenly attacks us from underground, and we're blocked. Even calling a helicopter is useless, because the monster is underground." Kevin wasn't embarrassed; if he couldn't solve it himself, then he'd ask for help.

"As long as it's a living creature, whether it's a monster or not, it definitely needs to eat. We'll know if we just test it!" Eddie said, then grabbed a headless Zombie from the ground and threw it out, sending the tens of pounds Zombie thirty meters away into an open space.

Before long, the infected earthworm underground smelled something and immediately drilled out, devouring the Zombie. Its enormous size was enough to scare anyone witless.

"Move all those Zombies over here, tie timed explosives to them, feed them to that monster, and then send it to the heavens. This is easy to solve, just use your brain a bit more." Eddie clapped his hands, his expression full of arrogance.

Chapter 163: Cold-Blooded Observer Nikolai

Leon looked at his instructor fawning like this with a bit of helplessness, and at the same time, he felt that this senior named Eddie was quite impressive. He found a solution with just a simple test, which was something he needed to learn.

Although Eddie was puzzled why Leon had arrived in Raccoon City before the crisis even erupted, he wasn't surprised. If he were to encounter Claire, then he would be surprised.

At his command, the demolition team naturally prepared timed bombs, tied them to the Zombies, and then flung them out!

However, when the Zombies were thrown into the dirt, the large earthworm from before didn't appear. Instead, many small earthworms, like pythons, emerged. These earthworms had sharp teeth, seemingly evolved for predation.

Eddie pressed the button, and the timed bombs exploded instantly, blowing dozens of python-like earthworms into small, fragmented pieces. "Napalm, and flamethrowers to burn all those shredded pieces of meat. Earthworms have strong vitality, and these infected earthworms even more so."

Immediately, gasoline was poured, completely submerging these still wriggling and struggling mutated earthworms, and then a fire was set. Screams and the smell of roasted meat immediately filled the air.

"I don't think I want to eat roasted meat anymore," Kevin said, covering his nose.

"Normal, normal. Who knows, maybe this stuff is rich in protein and nutrients?" Eddie chuckled.

"In wilderness survival, earthworms are very important ingredients, as are some maggots. They are all edible, just a bit disgusting," Svetlana said indifferently.

Originally, they came to eradicate biochemical weapons, but how did it turn into wilderness survival?

"Roar!" Seemingly realizing that its children had been burned to death, the large earthworm hidden underground became incredibly furious, moving constantly beneath the surface, causing the ground to bulge like waves, which looked very eerie.

The next second, Eddie kicked Li Sanguang, who was on alert, flying. The raised ground, which had been ten meters away, suddenly sank, and a row of sharp teeth appeared where Leon had been standing, biting through the concrete, attempting to attack the people above.

Svetlana, quick-witted, pulled out two grenades, removed their pins, and threw them directly into the mutated giant earthworm's teeth. Then, she quickly pulled Eddie back to avoid being caught in the explosion.

Bang! An explosion sounded, like a muffled thunder. The grenades exploded directly inside the giant earthworm's belly, causing it to be blown into two halves, severed from the inside. The earthworm's defense was as fragile as paper.

The giant earthworm, blown into two halves, continued to writhe on the concrete floor, attempting to devour nearby creatures to replenish its energy.

Eddie pulled out a submachine gun and continuously attacked the area with the teeth, all the bullets hitting inside, causing dark, foul-smelling blood to gush from the earthworm.

Jessica and Lisa did not move, but stood quietly. They would only act when Eddie asked them to, and at all other times, they would only protect Eddie's safety. They were even more useful than an intelligent Ivan-type Tyrant, able to protect and cook, and they were also great beauties, though a bit tall.

Swish! Eddie pulled out an incendiary grenade and threw it over. "Monster, try some exotic barbecue!"

"What's exotic barbecue?" Kevin also took out an incendiary grenade and threw it.

"It's when you treat customers as barbecue ingredients!" Eddie explained.

"Cannibals?" Kevin felt a bit disgusted.

"Exactly, that's what cannibals do, but according to historical records, they usually stew. Never mind, let's not talk about it, it's so disgusting. I hope there are no cannibals in this world." Eddie waved his hand; this topic was indeed a bit nauseating.

"You started it, didn't you?!" Kevin was a bit speechless. This guy was more laid-back than him, yet he was incredibly convincing. This was the difference in fate between people.

Under the attack of numerous machine guns and incendiary grenades, the mutated giant earthworm still died. Even with its ferocious predatory instincts, the T-Virus severely corroded its brain, which basically meant lowering intelligence, turning geniuses into ordinary people, and ordinary people into idiots.

Svetlana was pensive throughout. What was the purpose of creating such a biochemical weapon? If controllability could be achieved, then it should be a good option.

Da da da, as the road was cleared, agents almost always used very stable methods to deal with the monsters they encountered. If that didn't work, they'd use rocket launchers; after all, the director had approved it, so there was no need to worry about damaging things.

Just then, another group of people arrived at the gate, all wearing Umbrella uniforms. Leading them was a white-haired, flat-topped Russian, who showed Marvin his identification and said, "We are the Umbrella clean-up team, Nikolai Zinoviev. We are here on company orders to assist you in clearing the Waste Disposal Plant."

Marvin checked his identification, then picked up the phone and said, "Alright, I need to confirm this. You cannot enter until I receive a reply."

"No problem." Nikolai looked at the factory in front of him. There was a wealth of combat data waiting for him to acquire, and all of this was money!

After Marvin called the precinct to confirm, he said, "I will make it clear to my colleagues. You can advance from another direction, and we will meet in front of the sulfuric acid pool. That way, we can basically clear out all the monsters."

"Understood!" Nikolai finished speaking and led his squad into the Waste Disposal Plant.

Svetlana, seeing Nikolai from afar, said with a hint of disbelief, "That Jungle Wolf is actually here?"

"What Jungle Wolf?" Eddie asked, puzzled.

Svetlana gestured towards Nikolai, "That guy, the one leading the team. He used to be the captain of a Spetsnaz unit in the Russian Federation, very skilled in jungle warfare and urban combat. During the Cold War, he was specifically responsible for assassinating important figures and sabotage. He's a very tricky character."

"You seem very familiar with him?" Eddie pressed.

Svetlana seemed to see through Eddie's thoughts and explained, "I have no relation to him. We just served together in the special forces. After the Russian Federation dissolved, everyone who worked together went their separate ways. Although he's strong, in my eyes, he's not worth mentioning!"

Chapter 164: This Kick Might Be Fatal

"Alright, my girlfriend is always so confident, so amazing. No one is as amazing as you." Eddie teased.

"Go to hell!" Svetlana snorted. This Eddie always took advantage in words, yet he never made her feel disgusted.

Nikolai also saw Svetlana, and his expression immediately turned grim. She was a disgrace, one of the few failures in his military career, and they were all caused by that woman. Svetlana was a mountain Nikolai could never surpass; he couldn't surpass her before, and now that the T-Virus had lowered him a notch, he was even less able to surpass her.

"Let's go, get all weapons ready, don't be stingy with grenades, just throw them." Nikolai's expression was grim, as if he was very unhappy.

Eddie, however, whispered, "He looks like he's afraid of you."

Svetlana lightly brushed a strand of hair. "Of course. So far, no man has been able to defeat me. You need to work harder." She finished speaking, her beautiful eyes glancing at the man.

The Waste Disposal Plant was very large, at least the size of five standard football fields. Its main purpose was various waste recycling, aiming to reduce costs. Such a massive processing facility had a daily processing limit; all incoming discarded experimental subjects had to be destroyed, burned to ashes, or melted with sulfuric acid to complete the process.

This was why the factory was so large, yet its processing efficiency was not high.

"This factory has been abandoned for several months. Now that it's restarting, God knows what kind of monstrous things have gotten in." Eddie shot and killed a charging rotten Zombie Dogs, the enormous kinetic energy of the magnum shattering the Zombie Dogs's head.

"Buddy, there are no ghosts in the world," Kevin quipped, then focused, his eyes incredibly concentrated. This was Kevin's unique skill, which could increase his hit rate, strike the target's weak points, and deal greater damage.

"Aren't these ghosts? I've dissected these things. They're clearly dead, their brains are stagnant, yet their bodies still move. Isn't that amazing?" Eddie shook his head. He didn't say it explicitly, but given the current situation, it seemed that a crisis outbreak was almost imminent. This time, it must be a test by Sergei to see how things would unfold.

While the William incident was the main cause of the crisis, other factors could not be ignored.

Kevin shook his head. "I don't know about that. I really admire you guys with such strong stomachs. Don't you find it disgusting?"

"That's how it is in this line of work. The pay is good, anyway!" Eddie chuckled. It was a fact; he wasn't showing off.

"Eddie, I want to ask, can these things be airborne?" Leon suddenly asked, seemingly still having a keen sense of smell.
