Chapter 108 - 108

The precinct's phone kept ringing non-stop. To facilitate better operations, Chief Brian even instructed Marvin to find a temporary office in the north, where all northern agents only needed to go for rest and reorganization.

"Everyone, I'm reporter Alyssa. Today we witnessed widespread riots in the north. There were arsons, robberies. What exactly is happening? We will continue to investigate. As you can see, agents have begun setting up defenses and arresting suspects causing the unrest." Alyssa secured the right to broadcast news and reported from the north immediately.

"Everyone, this is just a small riot by homeless people. We have received intelligence that a cult organization is secretly instigating them. Our precinct will spare no effort to combat any criminal activity and will not let criminals get away with it!" Brian had no choice but to go to the crime scene to clarify the situation.

Umbrella personnel demanded that Brian suppress the matter and even authorized lethal force if necessary.

Most of the agents were locals and were unlikely to shoot their own people. They would only use grappling techniques to control residents already infected with T-Virus and transport them to the General Hospital.

A large quantity of heavy weaponry was transported to the temporary outpost in the north, and even some radio equipment was brought over for communication.

Marvin watched the fires in the streets, simultaneously directing firefighters to extinguish them. His eyelids twitched wildly; this situation looked exactly like the end of the world. Moreover, those cannibals were similar to those he encountered at the Waste Disposal Plant. He fundamentally wondered if all of this was related to Umbrella?

Once this doubt arose, it was hard to dispel. He dared not think further. Almost half of Raccoon City was built with the financial support of Umbrella Corporation. Even the agents' salaries in the precinct were almost entirely dependent on Umbrella's funding for raises.

"David, you'll have to work a bit harder recently, put in some overtime. Rita, contact Eddie; we need a batch of vaccines. Kevin, take your team and set up a defense line on Annadale Street. Don't let those madmen enter the street. I'll arrange for personnel to advise citizens to stay indoors; this is a dangerous place." Marvin's expression was very serious.

"I understand, leave it to me. Let's go, Leon, we have a mission to do. Don't let your hand shake when you shoot this time; strive to become a formidable SWAT officer." Kevin smiled and patted Leon's shoulder. This somewhat casual demeanor seemed a bit unreliable.

"Okay, I understand." Leon was a bit helpless. Who told him to follow such a master? But to be fair, the firearms skills he taught greatly improved his aiming accuracy; he really had some tricks up his sleeve.

This was only the initial stage; not many residents were infected. More were transient homeless people who came here to pan for gold. When they saw an opportunity, they naturally joined in the smashing and looting. If they were caught, it didn't matter; they could enjoy a few good meals in the detention center. No oil was fine, as long as there was food.

Chapter 179: Return to the Underground Hive

Suzuki Yoko and January, who had arrived at a nearby city, began inspecting the Red Queen mainframe on the large truck. Suzuki Yoko checked the mainframe, found no issues, and single-handedly moved the mainframe to the connection point. This strength was something she had never believed she possessed before.

After January connected all the data cables, her fair fingers tapped on the keyboard, quickly noticing something different. "Yoko, did you notice? The Red Queen needs a part to start; it seems to be missing a component. Umbrella is so cunning, it actually split the mainframe into two parts!"

Suzuki Yoko came over to the computer and looked. She also noticed that different code appeared on the screen. This was a password lock; besides requiring high-level authorization to activate, it also needed a special core.

Supercomputers were indeed different, especially those produced by Umbrella. There were no defective products, but they were very troublesome to use.

"It seems we'll have to trouble Eddie to go back and get it," Suzuki Yoko said, her delicate brows furrowed.

"Wait, don't rush. I'll check Umbrella's underground facilities again. Eddie once said that Umbrella has many underground laboratories. We need to find out where." January's fair fingers rapidly flew across the keyboard.

"You can find it that way? Are you saying that the core component can also be used to analyze data?" Suzuki Yoko quickly thought of another possibility.

"Exactly, it must have split the mainframe into two parts. With the assistance of numerous server rooms, it could be activated, but currently, we lack server rooms, so we can only combine the two parts. And it must be combined; the combined mainframe is the true supercomputer!" January's beautiful eyes flashed with intense interest. She was very curious about what the legendary supercomputer was like. Could it truly be intelligent?

The two women began searching on the computer. The advantage of the internet was that you could sit on the West Coast and curse East Coast netizens tens of thousands of kilometers away until they saw two Buddhas ascend! There was no need to move; hands could replace everything!

"Found it, in the underground hive. The location should be under the Arklay Mountains. Let me check the map. Is this in the dormitory area? That daring? Putting the core component in the dormitory area!" January's beautiful eyes flashed with a hint of suspicion.

"This uses reverse thinking. No one would expect Umbrella's supercomputer core component to be in the dormitory area. Just like Eddie said, the most dangerous place can sometimes be the safest place," Suzuki Yoko laughed.

"You haven't been brainwashed by him, have you? Always speaking well of him?" January was a little suspicious.

"Aren't you the same?" Suzuki Yoko didn't refute but instead teased her companion.

"I'm not the same. He and I are only in an employment relationship, but the term is twenty years." January defended herself.

"By then, no one will want you, probably. Alright, let's tell Eddie the news while we have the chance," Suzuki Yoko laughed.

Raccoon City's Southern Apartments. Eddie yawned as he emerged from his room. His recently rested spirits were wasted again. In contrast, Jill and Wolf Mom Luper emerged looking radiant and vibrant, like roses after the rain.

The phone rang. Eddie answered, "Hello, who is this? Oh, Yoko, what's up? Hmm, tell me."

A five-minute phone call left Eddie with a very serious expression. Jill was curious, "What's wrong, dear? Is something the matter?"

"There's something in Umbrella's underground hive that I need to retrieve. I've already notified VECTOR to drive the truck to wait on the Highway in the Arklay Mountains. We need to leave now." Eddie picked up his special forces gear to change.

"I'll go with you." Jill also changed into her long-unused special forces uniform. The serum prevented her from having the fragility of an ordinary pregnant woman; instead, she maintained a considerably high combat capability.

"You're not in a suitable state to fight, are you? Stay here and check on our two helicopters. They are key to our departure." Eddie thought about it and decided not to let Jill go. It wasn't that Jill's combat power was poor, but she was pregnant with his child, and he didn't want anything to happen to her.

"I can fight!" Jill didn't want to be treated differently.

"You can, but now isn't the time. There will be plenty of opportunities later. What you need to do now is give birth to the child, isn't that right, Eddie?" Wolf Mother said with a smile, a hint of envy in her beautiful eyes. A child, nurturing a new life, always made people excited.

"Yes, Jill, there will be opportunities for you to show your skills, but not now. I promise to take you with me always in the future. You go handle other matters. This trip to the Arklay Mountains is no joke; it's very dangerous. We'll leave as soon as we get what we need." Eddie shook his head. He truly didn't want Jill to take risks, nor was it necessary.

"Then you must come back safely." Jill worried. For some reason, Raccoon City had become very dangerous, and it seemed the incidents in the Arklay Mountains had spread to the city.

"No problem. If needed, I'll have you fly the helicopter to pick us up." Eddie nodded.

Equipped, and with his three female bodyguards, Eddie set off. With Jessica and the others, even encountering a mutated William would be a fight they could win.

Especially William in his second state, he could instantly kill a Type-03 customized Tyrant. With one claw, the Tyrant's exterior, which could withstand submachine gun fire, was almost as fragile as paper.

The four drove off in a special off-road vehicle, heading from the suburban roads towards the Arklay Mountains. The northern area had already been sealed off. Although Raccoon City had blocked the roads leading into the Arklay Mountains, it wasn't impossible to get in if one truly wanted to court death.

Visibility in the afternoon was still good. Eddie drove the off-road vehicle, and the reconnaissance work was left to Svetlana. She was a special forces instructor; there wasn't much she didn't know.

"Perhaps after this, I should have Jessica and Lisa learn how to drive and special forces techniques. What do you think? Do they have the talent for it?" Eddie laughed.

"Of course they do, but you'll need to custom-build a car for them. Besides, I don't think you'll necessarily be driving in the future. The era will probably have phased out cars." Svetlana chuckled.

"You have that much confidence in me?" Eddie turned his head.

The next second, Svetlana reached out and turned Eddie's head back. "Focus when you're driving, don't crash. Although there are no traffic police here, there are still monsters!"

Chapter 180: Simmons Takes the Blame

"I wouldn't crash even with my eyes closed, don't worry. I'm asking for your opinion, do you think those two have talent in that area?" Eddie asked earnestly.

Svetlana pondered for a moment and said, "Jessica might, but Lisa not necessarily. However, Lisa's potential is higher. They are both excellent bodyguards, especially Lisa, who has a brand new ability she hasn't used yet. Only you can guide her to develop this ability, and her combat power will increase significantly. At least after I leave, you won't lose your life due to carelessness."

"Are you really leaving?" Eddie sighed. A special forces instructor like her wasn't easy to hire.

"Hehe, what, you'll miss me?" Svetlana unexpectedly teased the man, seemingly a bit smug.

"Yes, I'll miss you. If such a beautiful bodyguard leaves, I'll truly be unaccustomed to it." Eddie openly admitted. Besides, Svetlana was not bad-looking either, especially the fierce temperament her military career had given her. The aura of a 'tough rose' was something even Ada didn't possess.

"I have things I need to do. My homeland is not as peaceful as other places; it's full of war. I need to go back and end the civil strife, to bring my homeland into an era of peaceful development." A trace of sadness flashed in Svetlana's beautiful eyes. If she had a choice, she would rather be an ordinary woman, but giving up without effort was clearly not her style.

"Alright, if you need help, please come to me anytime. My door is always open for you," Eddie laughed.

Svetlana also smiled brightly, outshining all flowers. "I will. You are a very good friend, Eddie. Promise me one thing."

"What is it? Tell me. As long as I can do it, I definitely won't refuse," Eddie said without looking back. He was driving!

"Don't die! The more I know, the clearer it becomes that your situation is even more dangerous than mine. You are a good friend, and I rarely have friends. You are one, so please don't die before I fulfill my dream." Svetlana also said with a serious expression.

"Okay, I won't die, and you shouldn't either!" Eddie laughed.
