Chapter 109 - 109

"You jump, I jump!" Svetlana also uttered a classic line, a dialogue from Titanic: whatever you do, I do.

An invisible bond formed between the two, perhaps a bond forged after countless battles, the mutual trust between comrades, and the help among companions. It was complex, and no one could explain it clearly.

The off-road vehicle sped along. Occasionally, when it passed a few stumbling zombies, Svetlana would use her Warrior's Blade to headshot them, seemingly wanting to change the somewhat tense and ambiguous atmosphere, which she was unaccustomed to. At least for now, she didn't need it.

As they gradually entered the continuous mountains of the Arklay Mountains, the area was already covered by leaves, and tall branches almost completely blocked out the sunlight. Normally, this would be a good place to escape the summer heat, but during the T-Virus leak, it was only a place that made people's blood run cold.

Svetlana looked at the moths not far away. Their bloated, massive bodies meant they could only fly at low altitudes. She couldn't help but pull out her sniper rifle, aiming at the moths, and her slender finger pulled the trigger.

Bang! A bullet flew out. In motion, the bullet whistled past, directly piercing the heads of two moths, killing them instantly.

"This place is beyond saving, it can only be purified," Eddie said without looking back.

"How do you purify it?" Svetlana asked.

"High-temperature explosive bombs, a brand new type of missile that can achieve nuclear bomb-like power while greatly reducing pollution. It's a project developed by Umbrella in cooperation with the Federation," Eddie explained directly.

"It seems you've already grasped Umbrella's core data," Svetlana nodded, a glint flashing in her beautiful eyes.

"Not quite. Even if it loses the Red Queen, Umbrella won't fall. As long as those people are alive, Umbrella will be very difficult to bring down. That old fox, Spencer, won't fall so easily," Eddie sneered.

Even Umbrella's collapse, aside from the experimental data and videos anonymously submitted by Wesker, had many other reasons: the death of Colonel Sergei, the Caucasus Branch being raided and infected with T-Virus, and the failure of the Talos Tyrant project. Coupled with the cruise ship used to showcase biological weapons to VIP customers being hijacked, and various forces poaching its talent, numerous factors combined to lead to Umbrella's downfall.

Even though Umbrella would collapse, Spencer still possessed vast resources. Otherwise, he wouldn't have been able to support Alex's research project for the immortality virus. Although he was old and confused and tricked by Alex, he was still very rich. The fact that Alex (thanks to a kind reader for pointing out the error) could trick Spencer also showed her brilliance.

At the ground entrance of The Hive Laboratory, there was an abandoned gas station. Besides entering through the gas station, one could also enter through several abandoned houses near the gas station.

After observing from a distance, Svetlana said, "That's enough. There are Federal Marines ahead. They're stationed there, currently engaging some infected creatures."

Eddie took out binoculars and looked. He saw well-equipped Marine members attacking with guns. In front of them were over twenty rotting Zombie Wolves, as disgusting and swift as Zombie Dogs. Their sharp fangs could bite through bulletproof vests that weren't very thick. Bulletproof vests could prevent bullet impact but not dog bites, let alone the ancestors of dogs, wolves!

"They should be here to meet William. William is already dead, so they need to retreat. Haha, Simmons probably didn't expect this either. I'll soon send him a big gift. Hmph, to contend with me, he doesn't know what's coming," Eddie sneered.

"You really care about that agent, don't you?" Svetlana curved into a playful smile.

"Aunt Wang, of course, cannot be given to anyone else," Eddie said righteously.

"Sister? Aunt? You really are special. Is age that important? Haha, never mind. Little man, what should we do now?" Svetlana asked.

"Go over there. We can sneak into The Hive Laboratory from that side. We'll act now. I'll have January and them hack the cameras, and then we'll frame Simmons. That's all!" Eddie's smile gradually became more unrestrained!

Chapter 181: Lisa, Who Knows Martial Arts

"You really are shameless!" Svetlana smiled, her tone carrying a hint of approval. "That's one thing I admire about you. Unlike that hypocrite, at least you're a true villain."

"Are you praising me or insulting me?" Eddie was speechless. He parked the car near the civilian house and took out his weapons, which included the anti-tank rocket launcher given by Caroline.

"Praising you! I really like this style of yours. I hope you don't become as disgusting as those congressmen in the future," Svetlana's smile was bright. It was clear she wasn't lying.

Jessica and Lisa got out of the car, carrying large weapons, including their favorite chains. With one whip, not many creatures could withstand their attacks.

Flamethrowers and fuel tanks, these were all necessities. The Hive Laboratory was full of strange things, and it was connected to the Mansion Research Institute and the Executive Training Center. For now, it hadn't been attacked, but there was no guarantee that William hadn't spread certain things before he left.

"Of course not. I will remain as always, despicable and insidious!" Eddie put on his infrared goggles in advance. Looking into the house, he saw two giant spiders waiting for prey on the roof.

Lisa also noticed. She swung her chain, directly breaking the wall and killing the spider inside. However, there were still many spider eggs on the ground, which looked very disgusting.

"Jessica, burn these with the flamethrower. These things are really disgusting," Eddie waved his hand. He always felt aversion and disgust towards these mutated insects.

After a burst of flames, the unhatched spiders were also burned to death. If they mutated, they shouldn't harm people. And if infected animals could still reproduce, their offspring would also be mutated animals. This was well proven by the two sharks in the basement of the Mansion.

Opening the secret passage door, Eddie went down first. This place hadn't been used for a long time and seemed to have some cobwebs. Eddie had to clear them with a tactical knife, and when he saw spiders and other crawling insects below, he shot them from a distance, not leaving any for close combat, which would be crazy.

It took fifteen minutes to reach the underground passage. This was a tunnel-like passage, and they would have to walk about two kilometers to reach The Hive Laboratory.

"Roar!" A roar came, and two mutated large lizards slowly crawled over. There was faint light in the tunnel, making it impossible to see the surroundings clearly.

The large lizards were over seven meters long. Originally, they were just lizards that preyed on some winged insects and mosquitoes here. But due to the spread of the T-Virus, they underwent huge mutations, and it was unknown what pig feed they ate to become so large and ferocious.

Their eyes had turned blood red, as if their brains were controlled by the virus, and their bodies emitted a foul odor.

Eddie took out a submachine gun and accurately hit the large lizard. He only heard clanging sounds as the bullets were deflected by its tough hide and fell to the ground. The large lizard only roared in pain.

Hiss! A strange organ suddenly extended, looking as if it were made of plastic. Eddie dodged, and the solid mountain wall behind him was struck, sending debris flying. If that force had hit him, it might have gone straight through him!

Whoosh! Svetlana seized this fleeting opportunity, pulled the pin from a grenade, and directly threw it into the large lizard's open mouth.

Bang! A huge explosion sounded, and the large lizard's head was directly blown to smithereens. The internal defense of this type of lizard had not evolved, and while its exterior was riddled with holes, its brain had actually been blown apart by the grenade.

A direct headshot was the best option. If an ordinary Marine unit were to face such a large lizard, several people might have to die before they had a chance to take it down.

The other lizard seemed to sense the death of its companion and immediately became more enraged. It crawled quickly, moving very fast on all fours, and in the blink of an eye, it was right in front of them.

Lisa looked at the large lizard expressionlessly. She stomped her high heel on the ground, grabbed the large lizard's head with both hands, and delivered a punch that smashed its eyes, eyelids, and scales.

Then, with a delicate shout, she directly lifted the large lizard, which weighed over a ton, nearly two tons, and threw it to the four-meter-high tunnel ceiling, smashing it hard against the ceiling before it fell down again.

At this moment, Lisa was ready for the next strike. She merely shifted her body slightly to dodge the large lizard's painful bite. Then, with a high kick, she directly stomped on the mutated large lizard's head, crushing it.

In less than ten seconds, the large lizard that even Eddie found difficult to deal with was effortlessly taken care of by Lisa! Was this the difference between a bronze player and a grandmaster? Although it felt a bit awkward, Eddie still accepted this fact. Anyway, Lisa was his bodyguard, and if his bodyguard was awesome, he also looked good.

Svetlana, however, watched with a trace of relief in her beautiful eyes. She had been very worried about Eddie's safety before, fearing that if she left, his safety would not be guaranteed. Now it seemed she had worried too much. This was good; at least she wouldn't have any worries!

"Well done!" Eddie praised Lisa. At least he treated Lisa as a person, not a monster. She was his friend, his companion.

"Thank you," Lisa thanked him unexpectedly. Like Jessica, she didn't like to talk much. Perhaps it had been a long time since she had spoken. She usually didn't say much, only chatting freely like friends when the mother and daughter were alone. Other times, she was mostly silent.

Eddie took out his gun and fired a burst at the lizard eggs in the distance. To kill a snake, you must strike its vital point; to kick someone when they're down, you must also close the well cover. This was called eliminating future troubles, preventing mutated lizards from corrupting and then cutting off their retreat.

They continued forward, and there were no monsters here, only occasional sightings of white bones, which looked like the skeletons of Hunters, probably eaten by the lizards for dinner.

In the tunnel, there were really not many animals or biological weapons that could defeat these two lizards, except for Lisa. She could even pin down and beat a rampaging Tyrant, although it hadn't been tested, there might be a chance to try.

"This time our target is the dormitory area. I don't know the situation of The Hive, but there are definitely problems. We must not be careless and give our all to avoid injury!" Eddie instructed.

"The person who needs to be careful in here is you, isn't it? You're the weakest, little man!" Svetlana teased. This instructor-sister seemed to always enjoy bullying her employer!

Chapter 182: Four Overpowered Individuals Sweep Through The Hive Laboratory

The Hive Laboratory was almost completely destroyed by William's release of a large amount of T-Virus, and the Hunters dispatched were to kill all researchers. William knew very well that if he escaped, Umbrella would not let him go. Not only him, but even his family would be captured and thrown onto some isolated island to become test subjects.

Eddie and the others arrived at The Hive Laboratory via elevator, only to find it already occupied by zombies, and various strange biological weapons had been released.

As soon as the elevator door opened, several zombies lunged forward. Eddie kicked one, sending it flying. Svetlana waved her hand and slapped a zombie, making its fragile head spin twice.

"This place is already infected, Yoko. Find us a viable path," Eddie said into his earphone.
