Chapter 121 - 121

Toes are a very fragile part, even on a Tyrant. Most Tyrants have shoes for protection, so it can only be said that Dr. Mueller was poor and didn't make a corresponding outfit for his Tyrant bodyguard.

"What?!" Captain Jeddingham was very surprised. How could this be? Even he would have a hard time dodging at that speed, so how could the opponent still have time to counterattack?

"Stepping on toes is a trick only children would use, isn't it?" Sienna teased.

Chapter 202: There's a Tyrant

"As long as it's effective, any move is a good one," Caroline explained. She wouldn't feel mean about it. In combat, especially life-or-death combat, no move is too much.

The Thanatos Tyrant, with its severed toes, became incredibly enraged. The severed area began to heal, but the bones hadn't grown back. It wasn't time for its full berserk state yet; once its body functions were fully unleashed, its recovery speed would greatly increase.

Whoosh! The Thanatos Tyrant's speed increased even more, and Eddie's focus was incredibly sharp. Bullet Time sped up quite a bit, apparently due to the opponent's sudden increase in speed.

Still squatting, dodging the opponent's attack, Eddie took advantage of the Thanatos Tyrant's charge, which left it no time to turn, and began to leave scratches all over its body. Against a Tyrant, unless it's a large-caliber, cannon-like bullet from a fighter jet, it's impossible to cause effective damage.

But a tactical dagger is different; a well-used cold weapon can be extremely effective.

Dr. Mueller, watching the fight, was incredibly surprised. His Thanatos Tyrant was the strongest, so why was this happening? It couldn't even defeat a mere mortal! This was unforgivable; it was a desecration of his artwork!

The more Eddie fought, the more he felt he had a great talent for combat. Only when fighting against Tyrants of the same type, or even those stronger than him, could he find directions for improvement. Especially the quick dodges; if the claws were replaced with bullets, that would be even cooler. An invisible flex, it felt so good!

The Thanatos Tyrant continued its relentless attacks, even capable of multi-stage attacks unlike other Tyrants. Its speed was incredibly fast, and it was getting faster, showing signs of its abilities being unleashed.

Eddie also felt a hint of pressure. Finally, he pulled out a taser. This was a single-use item that could generate thousands of volts of high-voltage electricity instantly, lasting for three seconds before becoming scrap.

"You little brat, I don't want to play with you anymore. Go back and play with dog shit," Eddie sneered, dodging the Thanatos Tyrant's claw attack. An elbow strike hit its head, and then he placed the taser on its exposed heart.

Zzzzt! A dazzling blue light appeared. This anti-bioweapon, obtained from the Memorial Hospital's underground research lab, indeed proved effective.

Even the Thanatos Tyrant, with its extremely strong regenerative abilities, couldn't withstand such high-voltage electricity. Under the continuous current, it became dizzy and even quite simply passed out.

"Looks like it worked well. We should develop more of these," Eddie said proudly. Only technology could fight technology. He lit a cigarette and walked step by step towards the Echo Six Team's vehicle.

Facing Eddie, who had defeated the Thanatos Tyrant, everyone except Caroline and Sienna was very nervous, even pointing their guns at him.

Jeddingham raised his hand, signaling his team not to be impulsive. "Mr. Eddie, please do not approach, thank you."

Eddie continued to walk over, smoking his cigarette. "Your mission is to protect this waste and get him out of Raccoon City, right? If you're going to leave, leave early. Don't make a fool of yourselves here. Say hello to your superiors for me, and tell them I will act according to the agreement with the Federation."

"What? Okay, I'll tell my superior. Doctor, we should leave," Jeddingham said.

"Damn it!" Dr. Mueller didn't dare to speak loudly. He knew very well that if the opponent could defeat his artwork, he could certainly kill him even under the protection of so many people.

Caroline's beautiful eyes sparkled with admiration. She appreciated powerful men, and if her benefactor was also this powerful, it would align even more with her views.

Sienna's beautiful eyes also flashed with a hint of brilliance. She decided that if she had time off, she would seek out Eddie to uncover his secrets. As a professional intelligence officer, she was very interested in individuals from whom it was difficult to extract information.

After leaving the substation, Eddie returned to the hospital. The Echo Six Team, meanwhile, escorted Dr. Mueller and the unconscious Tyrant, packed in a box, to the suburban defense line, where bodies were already strewn everywhere.

Federal Guard soldiers lay scattered, and some were already shakily standing up, their skin turning grayish-white, beginning to roar and walk towards their comrades. Under the influence of camaraderie, many soldiers were unable to fire at their former companions, leading to a further increase in the death rate.

"My God, what happened here!" Captain Jeddingham looked at the chaotic scene in confusion. "We're in trouble. Prepare for combat."

"Are you from the Marines? Hurry and help us, a large number of monsters have attacked us, we're almost overwhelmed," a team leader shouted. He was also covered in wounds, apparently having a large chunk of flesh bitten off by some animal.

Tat-tat-tat! Machine gun fire erupted again. Running Zombie Dogs and slowly moving zombies were torn in half by the kinetic energy of the machine gun bullets.

Marisa, the Echo Team's demolitions expert, threw out her modified satchel charge. This satchel charge could vaporize all living things within thirty meters.

With a series of explosions, the entire area became incredibly silent.

Dr. Mueller felt the box vibrating, so he opened it and released his artwork, controlling the Thanatos Tyrant with his computer. "You need my help. Those monsters are creatures infected by some substance spread by Umbrella. These infected creatures become incredibly berserk and even have extreme violent tendencies."

"Then we'll trouble you, Doctor," Jeddingham had no better solution. Dealing with slow-moving zombies wasn't difficult; the challenge came from the fast-moving Zombie Dogs and various other monsters. Some were even combinations of insects, tall and large, with dragonfly heads, cockroach bodies, and wings—monsters that would make anyone's scalp crawl.

Jeddingham began to communicate with the Guard, while the Thanatos Tyrant reawakened. Being electrocuted was merely a temporary fainting spell; its powerful regenerative abilities allowed the Tyrant to recover quickly, though it would accelerate wear and tear. Fortunately, Dr. Mueller's protective measures were excellent; the Tyrant's control chip wasn't burned out even under two thousand volts of electricity.

The prototype Tyrant was already riddled with holes, but it was still fighting fiercely. Until it was completely dead, it would continue to kill, killing without reason.

"Damn it, what are these things!" the captain cursed, quickly changing magazines and shooting down the charging Zombie Dogs.

Chapter 203: Situation Worsens, Tyrant

Thud! The prototype Tyrant, which had just been wreaking havoc, was directly impaled by the Thanatos Tyrant's sharp claws and lifted into the air. Although the prototype Tyrant struggled, the Thanatos Tyrant, being of the same Tyrant series, gave it no chance.

With a powerful tug, its claws tore the prototype Tyrant in half, and as if smelling something delicious, the Thanatos Tyrant actually began to devour its own kind!

This phenomenon was something Dr. Mueller had never witnessed, nor had he anticipated such a thing. Was this due to excessive consumption requiring energy replenishment?

The Guard soldiers frowned at the sight. If the captain hadn't ordered them not to fire, bullets would likely have been aimed at that strange man.

Crunch! Disgusting bone-cracking sounds echoed. The others could only suppress their discomfort and deal with the continuously advancing zombies and other animals. Crows still circled in the sky, being shot down one by one by sniper rifles. Those timid crows had also attacked once, but were repelled by flamethrowers.

General Morgan watched the footage from the Command. He already had a mature plan: to use these biochemical disasters to establish a specialized response organization, which must possess absolute military authority.

These videos clearly showed that only professionals could deal with those monsters with the least cost!

After two hours of intense fighting, these monsters were finally eliminated. However, scouts reported that there were still many monsters lurking in the mountains.

Ultimately, Command abandoned the existing defense line and retreated to the outer canyon area to resist. Raccoon City could only fend for itself. If the monsters from the Arklay Mountains moved towards Raccoon City, the citizens of Raccoon City would certainly face a grim fate.

However, there was also some gain this time. At least Kaplanto, in conjunction with General Morgan, managed to extract Dr. Mueller, Umbrella's senior research director, and the Thanatos Tyrant. The power of the Thanatos Tyrant had been fully demonstrated in the fierce battle; it was fearless and possessed exaggerated attack power, capable of even lifting and throwing armored personnel carriers.

This series of bioweapons, if properly developed, would surely bring immense profits.

The only one who was unhappy was Simmons. His contingency plans had almost lost their effectiveness. He had finally managed to bribe Nikolai from the Monument Platoon, but nothing was done right, and he gained no benefits. If Kaplan's influence continued to grow, his position as acting leader would likely be in jeopardy.

This was Eddie's calculation. With Rachel, most of General Morgan's plans were known to him. Otherwise, at the substation, he could have easily cut the Thanatos Tyrant and then injected a reinforced vaccine into the injured area. The Thanatos Tyrant's weakness was its fear of vaccines, which made it even more vulnerable compared to other Tyrants.

Returning to the hospital's underground laboratory, Eddie saw Jessica and Lisa still sleeping. He estimated that the modification time wouldn't be long; this was just preliminary continued repair. At least a comprehensive check and repair would have to wait until after the Raccoon City crisis.

"How's the battle?" Svetlana asked, without turning her head, looking at the computer data. She had a somewhat aloof, mature woman's aura.

"Not bad, I had a pretty good time. That kind of Tyrant has obvious flaws; if you want to kill it, there are many ways to do so," Eddie smiled. Because he was enhanced and knew how to deal with Tyrants, he could be so composed.

Otherwise, if it were an ordinary person, they would have died countless times already. Even battle-hardened special forces couldn't discern the Thanatos Tyrant's movement patterns and attack methods. Ordinary people could only kneel down; there was no protagonist's halo, that was all nonsense.

Svetlana ignored Eddie's bragging. She was very interested in the anti-bioweapons contained within, perhaps she could use these things to do something.

Eddie took out a burger he had bought on the way and said, "Svetlana, do me a favor."

"What is it? Go to hell, I won't help you!" Svetlana raised her delicate eyebrows. She seemed to know what the problem was.

Three hours later, the cryogenic chamber was opened. The awakened Jessica's first glance still fell upon Eddie working at the computer. She smiled faintly, "I'm awake."

"There's food over there, eat," Eddie pointed to the table on the right, which was laden with a large amount of food he had someone buy. The southern region was still relatively peaceful, so food wasn't difficult to acquire.
