Chapter 120 - 120

Poof! The claws directly severed the team member's neck, a bloodthirsty frenzy, yet incredibly calm within that madness.

Despite the submachine gun fire, the Thanatos Tyrant endured the attack, slaying six team members one by one, yet suffering no damage itself. Its right hand still clutched a gruesomely killed mercenary. With a few bounds and a leap, it cleared a nearly four-meter-high gate; this jumping ability already surpassed all other Tyrants.

The members of the Echo Six Team exchanged awkward glances. If they encountered such a monster, how would they cope?

"Is this the kind of monster we're supposed to escort?" the black medic Bala subconsciously blurted out.

Everyone fell into contemplation, except for Sienna, whose eyes flickered a few times. She then noticed her best friend, Caroline, seemed completely unfazed, as if she looked down on that Thanatos Tyrant. This was very interesting. Only the strong would disregard such a monster. Did Caroline have some secret?

Dr. Mueller was overjoyed to see his perfect creation, the Thanatos Tyrant, wipe out a special forces team. He pulled out a bottle of red wine; he could celebrate now.

"Doctor, can we depart now?" Captain Jeddingham asked.

"No, not yet. I have someone to deal with," Dr. Mueller said, picking up his wine glass.

"Who?" Jeddingham frowned. If he could, he really wanted to slap this guy to death.

"Eddie Cai. A former Umbrella researcher, and currently the Raccoon City Police Department's medic," Dr. Mueller sneered. He recalled Eddie twice coming to bother him, both times because the Thanatos Tyrant wasn't finished, forcing him to comply. Now that the Thanatos Tyrant was complete, it was time to get even!

Caroline's eyes flickered a few times. She did not approve of dealing with Eddie; he was her benefactor. Upright Indians would not repay kindness with enmity.

"Doctor, won't this deviate from our agreement? Raccoon City is very unsafe right now, and we need to evacuate as soon as possible. Once you're back in a safe place, future matters can be handled later. We're here to rendezvous with you, not to help you kill people!" Jeddingham's tone was somewhat displeased.

"Hmph! I didn't say I needed your help, nor can you help me. I can handle it myself; you just wait. Once Eddie is dealt with, I'll leave with you. What are you afraid of? My Tyrant is the strongest; with my Tyrant, we can leave Raccoon City anytime!" Dr. Mueller had become unprecedentedly confident, or to put it simply, inflated with pride.

"Sorry, Doctor, this situation is not something I can decide on. I need to confirm with Command," Jeddingham said, then picked up his phone to communicate.

"Suit yourself!" Dr. Mueller picked up his red wine, feeling like he had reached the pinnacle of his life.

Jeddingham seemed to be arguing about something on his end, but eventually compromised. He could only do that; the mission was to escort the target out of Raccoon City. The military would arrange helicopters for evacuation, and the Echo Six Team had other missions to execute.

Eddie, in the laboratory beneath Spencer Memorial Hospital, received a message from Caroline: "Dr. Mueller has developed a Thanatos Tyrant. Its combat power is very strong, and he wants to deal with you. Be careful!"

Eddie chuckled. Dr. Mueller, from whom he had initially stolen the T-Virus and T-Vaccine to enhance himself, had finally developed his so-called Thanatos Tyrant. So he sent a text message back: "Received. Don't worry, stay safe."

Svetlana was sharpening her daggers, keeping them razor-sharp. "Why are you smiling so provocatively? Is something good happening?"

"No, it's just that some guy developed a Tyrant and now wants to deal with me. Someone tipped me off and told me to be careful," Eddie did not hide anything.

"That person is a woman, isn't she!" Svetlana teased.

Eddie looked at Jessica and Lisa, who were still in a deep sleep undergoing modification and treatment, and said, "That's not the point. The point is that the Thanatos Tyrant developed by Dr. Mueller is different from the ones we've encountered. He used a different approach to createit, making it more agile than other Tyrants, and its recovery and strength are also greater."

"Is there no way to kill it?" Svetlana frowned.

"It can be killed, but there's no need. We can play with it. Don't you want to challenge yourself? That's a good opportunity," Eddie smiled. Nothing was better for honing skills than a Tyrant, though there was a possibility of death.

"I'm not interested in mindless monsters! No matter how powerful a creature is, if it has no brains, it's easily defeated. This is humanity's advantage. If I wanted to, I could kill it!" Svetlana took out a dagger and gestured with it.

"You watch over them two here. I'm going out for a bit; they need time," Eddie said and started to leave.

"Just don't die. You still have many things you need to get done," Svetlana said indifferently. She wasn't good at comforting people, nor did she excel at it. If anything happened to Eddie, she swore she would make everyone regret it!

"I won't die, at least not before I've lived enough. I haven't seen our children grow up yet, so how could anything happen!" Eddie joked, pressing the door-opening button.

"Go to hell!" Svetlana turned her head away, not wanting to see the man's mischievous grin.

"January, lock the lab door. Don't let anyone else in until Jessica and the others have finished their treatment," Eddie ordered through his earpiece.

"Received, boss, rest assured!" January's voice responded.

Chapter 201: Eddie's Despicable Tactics

Sergei was in the underground hive, initiating the self-destruct sequence to destroy all evidence there. "That's none of your business. Did he come to settle scores with you?" The voice carried a hint of teasing and schadenfreude.

"Not really. His goal is to kill those who know the data. You're one, I'm one, and there are others," Eddie replied calmly, not flustered in the slightest.

"Oh? Just that big guy? Let him come then. Before he finds me, you might already be dead," Sergei said, then hung up the phone, simultaneously entering a series of codes.

The hive began its self-destruct sequence. Sergei also took a train back to the underground laboratory, which also needed to self-destruct. He was there to confirm that all evidence would be destroyed.

The underground evidence needed to be destroyed. As for the above-ground, hmph, there were plenty of means and methods.

"Thanatos Tyrant? Then come on, big guy. Heh heh, a inferior thing." Sergei's right hand was still playing with a strange blade, followed by two Ivan-type Tyrants.

Although the Red Queen's main board was stolen, Sergei still recovered a large amount of data through other means. Only some parts were missing, which could be filled in with a little time later.

Eddie left the underground laboratory. When he came out of the hospital, he found many more infected patients. These mutated citizens, who had become zombies, instantly died after receiving the T-Vaccine.

What sustained their activity was the T-Virus, and the vaccine was designed to kill the T-Virus. Once the serum's effect disappeared, the zombies would also die, with no chance of survival.

This vaccine had no effect on Eddie. He had already improved the vaccine's shortcomings at Annette's reminder. His serum could coexist with the vaccine, reaching a balance point and fusing with cells, a feat unmatched by other Tyrants.

And a syringe could not pierce a Tyrant's defense. Using a vaccine against a Tyrant was purely wishful thinking, and the effect would not be ideal.

Spencer Memorial Hospital was located in the southern part of Raccoon City. To its left was University Town, and to its right was Warren Stadium, which was also a secret passage to the underground laboratory.

Eddie now displayed his true strength, performing rapid jumps, constantly leaping between tall buildings. Even a distance of over ten meters could not stop his progress. When necessary, he could glide forward using his hovering backpack.

He traveled unimpeded, arriving at Riverside Street, which was near the power substation, a place few people came to. Standing on top of the power substation, he could see Dr. Mueller approaching from a distance. He wondered who had given him the intelligence.

A large man over two meters tall descended from the truck. His enormous heart was still beating, looking very intimidating.

This was Eddie's first time seeing the Thanatos Tyrant, and he couldn't help but praise it. Its appearance was quite impressive. Its two massive claws still bore traces of hands, capable of doing what hands could do, while also possessing the slashing effect of claws.

"It looks good, but unfortunately, it's still not as good as Sergei's clone. The exposed heart weakness cannot be solved. Tsk, if the secondary heart is blown up, its strength might just weaken. What an idiotic design." Eddie's tone carried a hint of mockery. With his achievements, he certainly had the right to mock his opponent.

Dr. Mueller also saw Eddie standing on the power substation. "Heh heh, you dog, you'll die today!" He felt a surge of anger whenever he thought about being chased like a dog, forced to hand over the vaccine formula and improvement methods. It was a humiliation he would never forget.

Caroline's expression was devoid of emotion. She could clearly see Eddie's playful expression. That man never did anything meaningless or without confidence. Only gamblers would gamble on things without absolute outcomes. She was very much looking forward to what surprise that man would bring her.

Sienna had similar thoughts. She was very curious why the other party was standing so high up. How did he get up there? This man still hid many secrets. At the very least, he was a man worth exploring and researching, and the information gained might fetch a good price.

Eddie came down the stairs to the riverside, lighting a cigarette as he walked. "Oh, I knew it, you old geezer still have something. Why are you coming after me instead of Umbrella? The ones who want mass production are those executives. Go find them. The ones who want to take your things are Umbrella's higher-ups. You can go find those higher-ups. Why are you coming after me?"

"Hmph! Stop playing dumb. All the humiliation you put me through, I'll return to you today, at the cost of your life." Dr. Mueller snorted. He could never forget being trampled underfoot, a treatment he never even experienced while working at Umbrella.

"What, so you plan to use this thing against me? Don't be silly. Instead of wasting your energy, you might as well run. If you don't leave, hehe, I can't guarantee you'll still be alive!" Eddie hinted.

"You don't need to worry about me. You can go to hell! Kill him!" Dr. Mueller yelled, pointing at Eddie, exasperated and furious.

The Thanatos Tyrant locked onto Eddie's image. Its right foot stomped on the ground, directly creating several cracks, showing how terrifying its speed was!

Eddie also felt something was wrong. The Thanatos Tyrant's speed was too fast, and its attention was incredibly focused. He squatted down, dodging the Thanatos Tyrant's claw attack. At the same time, a dagger appeared, directly severing all of the Thanatos Tyrant's right foot toes.

Thud! In a single clash, Eddie attacked the opponent's weakest point, and the effect was significant: the Thanatos Tyrant fell! Without toes, it was impossible to balance the body, a fact Eddie, with his background in biology, understood well.
