Chapter 129 - 129

Arriving in the hall, he saw Claire chatting with Svetlana; one, a youthful and radiant redhead with a ponytail, the other, a capable, mature, and charming blonde.

They seemed to be having a very pleasant conversation, though he didn't know what about.

Only Jessica stood coldly in place.

She rarely spoke to others, almost never.

Unless someone initiated a conversation with her, she could stand silently all day.

Only when facing her master, Eddie, would Jessica smile and act like a normal person; perhaps it was a matter of trust.

"I'm back, let's go.

The road ahead is blocked, so we need to go through the underground temporary detention center to the underground parking lot, and then exit," Eddie said with a smile to the three women.

"Let's go then, it's boring here," Svetlana said, pulling out her Magnum.

Like Eddie, she preferred high-powered pistols, especially at close range, where the Magnum's power exceeded even that of an assault rifle.

The four arrived at the underground detention center, which was actually a renovated basement.

Making full use of basement space is an essential skill for an architect.

There were not many prisoners left in the cells here; even if there were, they would be released.

This was an emergency, and staying would only lead to being eaten by zombies.

However, some individual cells still held zombies, who were original suspects that had become infected and mutated before they could be released, thus remaining inside forever.

At the end of the corridor was an iron door leading to the underground parking lot.

As Eddie passed a cell, he was surprised to encounter an acquaintance, a money-grubbing Ben!

He had betrayed Katherine, an acquaintance, for money, which Eddie had taken advantage of, then reported him, tricking him into jail.

Was it that easy to swindle money?

"Huh, didn't you leave Raccoon City a long time ago?

Why are you still here?" Eddie asked, puzzled.

Ben was still smoking inside.

Logically, he shouldn't have been so carefree.

He was locked in a cell, yet he could still smoke?

The scattered beer bottles and peanuts nearby also proved that he was still living quite well.

"Huh?

Are you that black-hearted capitalist?

You're here too.

Katherine tasted pretty good, didn't she?

Haha, I'm telling you, I'll find someone even better soon!

But these three behind you aren't bad either, haha." Ben smoked his cigarette, sitting on the ground, making it seem like he was on vacation.

"Are there white-hearted capitalists?

Show me one.

Do you call someone who doesn't make money a capitalist?

Why aren't you leaving?

It's not safe here," Eddie scoffed.

Claire frowned.

She didn't like this reporter.

From what she understood, the medicine Eddie developed was already very affordable, accessible to ordinary people.

For the even poorer, there was nothing to be done.

Capitalists aren't philanthropists; without making money, one might occasionally dabble in philanthropy.

Chapter 216: Show-off Gets Killed by a Tyrant

"Leave?

Why leave?

Isn't it better here?

Outside, it's man-eat-man, and I'm here having a drink.

You're seeking your own death now.

Soon, the Federal Guard will enter the city, and large-scale unrest must be suppressed, otherwise those hypocritical Senators will lose all their support!" Ben extinguished his cigarette.

Clearly, having long worked in journalism, he knew more dark secrets than Alyssa, and he himself was a corrupt reporter who profited from these secrets.

Compared to Alyssa, the beautiful reporter who upheld justice, he was much more vulgar, but this was normal.

How many truly righteous people are there in the world?

"Is that so?

Then let's wait and see.

We'll see who dies first, you or me.

Goodbye!" Eddie casually waved his hand, his back to the man.

He didn't want to talk more with such a minor character.

Ever since he tricked Katherine, this person had lost his usefulness.

"Haha, of course you'll die first.

Don't think Umbrella will let you go easily.

Anyone who knows their secrets will die.

You and that fool Brian are the same." Ben laughed heartily, walked back to the wall, picked up the cigarette from the table, and wanted another one to enjoy.

Just then, *thump*!

A huge arm punched through the wall.

The arm had a special, very thick-looking trench coat on it.

The hand instantly grabbed Ben's head, almost covering half of his face.

"Ah!

What the hell is this?

Help me!

Ah, it hurts so much, hurry and save me!" Ben cried out in pain, trying to pull away the huge hand with both hands, but despite all his strength, the hand remained immobile.

Eddie and the others stopped.

Claire even pulled out her pistol, wanting to attack, but she didn't see any enemy, only an arm.

Shooting now would easily injure the reporter.

As the arm behind the wall exerted force, Ben's head was completely crushed, and he died instantly!

He had just said it was safe in the cell, and now he was dead in the blink of an eye.

The speed of this face-slapping was too fast, so fast that his pants couldn't keep up.

The arm quickly withdrew from the broken wall as if nothing had happened, leaving only heavy footsteps echoing like death lingering in their hearts.

"What the hell was that?" Claire asked, disbelieving.

She truly couldn't believe what kind of monster had such power, making her even start to curse.

Eddie also frowned.

Everything was as he remembered, but the only thing missing was the appearance of Sister Wang, replaced by Claire's companionship.

"I don't know, but it's nothing good.

We need to leave quickly."

Arriving at the underground parking lot, the lights were incredibly dim, as if they were broken.

Halfway through their walk, a bald man appeared.

He was almost three meters tall, so they had to look up at him.

His face had many wrinkles, yet he wasn't old.

His overall appearance was very human-like, and even wearing a straitjacket, he felt very strong.

"This must be the monster that killed that reporter," Eddie said with a hint of amusement, seeing the main culprit appear.

"How do you know he's a monster?

He looks very human," Claire asked, a little puzzled.

His distraction made her less nervous, and thinking of this, her impression of Eddie improved quite a bit.

"No one's height exceeds three meters.

This is a new type of bio-weapon developed by Umbrella, which can be called a Tyrant.

I used to work at Umbrella and accidentally learned that they were conducting inhumane experiments.

This is their product!

New-era weaponry!

I told you I'm not a good person," Eddie sneered.

"Have you harmed others?" Claire felt an inexplicable tension.

She wouldn't choose a man stained with the blood of innocents as her partner.

"Do you believe I'm innocent?

If I say I didn't do it, would anyone believe me?" Eddie looked at the Tyrant slowly approaching, his tone a bit sarcastic.

"I believe you!" Claire suddenly stood firmly by Eddie's side.

"You're not that kind of bad person.

Even though you say you're a bad person, you're better and more sincere than most people I've met.

No matter what others say about you, I believe you.

You're my friend."

"Boyfriend?" Svetlana suddenly interjected with a tease.

"Good friend!" Claire was a little shy.

They had only known each other for so long.

Even a shotgun wedding wouldn't be this fast, would it?

"Then I really must thank you for your trust.

Alright, ladies, be careful.

This big guy isn't easy to deal with." Eddie finished speaking and charged forward first.

The Tyrant also launched a charge.

A zombie suddenly darted out from beside a vehicle and was sent flying by the Tyrant's punch, its head exploding as it hit a concrete pillar.

Whoosh!

The Tyrant's fist came with a whoosh, its power enough to punch through a car hood.

In Eddie's eyes, the Tyrant's speed gradually slowed.

His hand-blade struck the Tyrant's wrist, deflecting its heavy fist, striking a weak point.

Then, a groin kick sent the Tyrant stumbling.

A normal man receiving such a severe blow would definitely fall to the ground, howling in pain.

But the Tyrant wasn't a man; it was merely a humanoid creature, without the so-called male weakness.

It couldn't reproduce.

The kicked-back Tyrant seemed somewhat enraged, immediately throwing another punch, wanting to grab the slippery target in front of it.

This target was one of the individuals it needed to eliminate; the chip in its head compelled it to destroy this target!

He truly didn't know whose idea it was, whether it was Sergei's personal vendetta.

He couldn't possibly be unaware of such a thing.

Nemesis, T-03 Tyrant, both had a common target: Eddie Cai!

"You're really good at fighting, aren't you?

Try another punch!" Eddie sneered.

He knew the Tyrant didn't understand, but he was just trying to bolster his own courage.

Facing such a ferocious-looking Tyrant with countless wrinkles, anyone would be scared to the point of peeing.

Thump!

After several exchanges, Eddie and the Tyrant traded punches.

The Tyrant only recoiled a small step, while Eddie was sent sliding on the ground.

Fortunately, his shoes were of good quality, otherwise he'd be shoeless.

Jessica watched, very displeased.

She couldn't tolerate anyone bullying Eddie, bullying her loved one.

Her high heel stomped on the ground, and she rushed out quickly, her fair, elegant hands forming fists.

With one punch, she sent the nearly one-ton Tyrant flying!

Was this the protectiveness of a wife?

Chapter 217: The Enraged Jessica is Terrifying

The flung Tyrant crashed into a car before stopping, most of its body dented into the vehicle.

The spot where it was hit was also caved in.

Jessica's punch was terrifyingly powerful!

Claire was also startled.

She had never imagined that the seemingly ordinary, somewhat mature Jessica was a woman with explosive combat power.

When Svetlana told her that Jessica was Eddie's bodyguard, Claire was still skeptical, because Jessica rarely used firearms.

Who has a bodyguard like that?

It had always been Eddie fighting, and this bodyguard had barely lifted a finger.

Such a situation was truly unimaginable for what a bodyguard should do.

It was only at this moment that Claire finally understood why she could be called a bodyguard.

With this strength, it was better not to act; when she did, she would kill someone, so of course, she tried not to act.

The enraged Jessica would not allow Eddie to be harmed in front of her.

He was the man who had awakened her after her consciousness slept for thirty-two years, the one who helped her get revenge on Umbrella, and the first person she saw after waking up.

To her, Eddie was more precious than anything else.

The Tyrant struggled to its feet.

Jessica's punch earlier made it very uncomfortable, and the force had passed through the straitjacket onto its body.

The protective straitjacket had barely had any effect.

Thump!

The Tyrant began a minor mutation, becoming more resilient and powerful.

Its boots stomped on the ground, creating a crack, and it charged at Jessica.

Controlled by a computer chip, the Tyrant knew no fear; even when facing a Fifth Form G-Monster, it would still charge.

Jessica clenched her hands, her beautiful eyes flashing with ferocity.

She also had violent tendencies, but they were well suppressed.

Combat was when she vented these violent tendencies; otherwise, she would have to resolve them through another method.

Her high heel stomped on the ground, likewise creating a burst of cracks, the ground already splitting like a spiderweb.

The quality of her high heels was truly excellent; even under such immense force, they remained intact.

The woman and the Tyrant collided.

The Tyrant struck with all its might, and Jessica also met it with all her strength.

Although this would subject her to great force, it was all worth it.
