Chapter 179 - 179

"Are you guys paying for this meal?" Eddie suddenly asked a nonsensical question.

Nelson was also stunned for a moment. "Of course, Young Master Anruka is treating us to this meal."

"That's good, I accept. Michaela Schneider, go pack all the food and take it back to the room. Charge it to Anruka. Nelson, right? Two hours later, we'll meet." Eddie didn't let go of this opportunity, not even a single meal's worth of money.

And Nelson was a bit dumbfounded. Damn it, he had lived for over fifty years and had never seen such a shameless person. You never know when a shameless person will pull a trick like this!

Then he was somewhat amused, "That's certainly not a problem, I'll pay for it."

When Nelson looked at the bill of nearly 700,000, his expression changed. Damn it, he wanted to curse. Were those people pigs? How could they eat so much!

Excella smiled without speaking. She looked at Eddie's performance, like a cunning country dog, after all, he was a despicable outsider! "Nelson, what do you think of him?"

Nelson respectfully said, "Anyone Young Miss takes an interest in must have extraordinary qualities. It's just that I feel this Eddie is a bit unrefined."

"He wasn't born to be a king. As long as he can avoid suffering losses, that's enough. This kind of person has rich experience and isn't someone an ordinary person can cultivate." Excella's eyes flickered. She somewhat understood why the beautiful agent Ada and the cool and elegant instructor Svetlana would invest in Eddie. He was a very promising stock.

"What Young Miss says is true, this kind of person will achieve great things in the future. At least, he'd make a good marriage partner. Young Master has already decided that upon returning to the family castle, he will suggest to the Elder Council that Young Miss marry Eddie to form an alliance through marriage," Nelson reported.

"Very good, you've worked hard. I'm very grateful to you, you've done very well." Excella finished speaking, waved her hand, and left in her high heels.

Back in the hotel room, Eddie, Michaela Schneider, and Alyssa were feasting, replenishing their consumed energy, eating to their heart's content.

"Eddie, should my article still be published?" Alyssa asked.

"Of course, but it needs to be revised. Change it to say that we were invited to join the Global Pharmaceutical Alliance, hoping not to be bound by the alliance, and our goal is to produce affordable drugs to benefit the general public." A hint of cunning flashed in Eddie's eyes.

"Eddie, you are truly a good person. Some of my friends have also gained hope to continue living because of this medicine. You are truly a hero, and you must have endured a lot of hardship during this period." Alyssa said softly, feeling a pang of heartache for her man, who bore too much pressure.

"Don't be fooled, he's not a good person to begin with. He's just a man with a strong sense of responsibility and personal charm. Instead of feeling sorry for him, it's better to do more for him." Michaela Schneider snorted. She couldn't stand this girlish demeanor. Women shouldn't be so fragile; they should learn to be strong.

Alyssa was a bit exasperated. She was just moved at the moment. "Alright, I'll publish the article as you said. It seems Michaela Schneider hasn't learned enough of a lesson yet, Eddie, shouldn't you show her a thing or two?"

"Bring it on, who's afraid of whom!" Michaela Schneider wasn't afraid at all, with a hint of anticipation in her eyes.

During afternoon tea, Eddie was invited to the hotel's restaurant, which had been cleared. In the huge restaurant, only Anruka and his bodyguards and entourage were present.

"Yo, it's really happening, not bad. Give me twenty steaks, well-done, and three roasted ducks and twenty burgers, spicy chicken leg burgers." Eddie started ordering as soon as he arrived, without much conversation.

"You eat so much? Aren't you afraid of bursting?" Anruka was smoking a cigar, an authentic Latin America cigar, which required young girls to hand-pick the ingredients and make it, without men touching it. This kind of cigar was very expensive and had the best taste. "Want one?"

"No, I don't smoke cigars, I only smoke cigarettes." Eddie took out his herbal cigarettes, and Michaela Schneider, with her rosy, moisturized cheeks, actively helped the man light his cigarette.

"Bursting? You don't know about the fast digestion pills I invented. This stuff has no side effects and can accumulate a lot of physical strength in the human body. If this stuff were used in the Olympics and other competitions, how much income do you think it would generate?" Eddie smoked his cigarette, smiling extremely sinisterly.

Chapter 298: I'm Taking the Woman with Me

Anruka was clearly interested. Sports betting is indeed a legitimate industry, and such matters are carried out by a professional organization independent of the Olympic Committee. As long as it's not doping, no one can say anything.

Not strong enough? Then blame yourself for being weak, don't blame others, okay!

"No side effects, are you sure? The tests at sports events are very strict. You know how much money it costs to train an athlete, and no one will do something without certainty." Anruka's eyes flickered with light.

This drug could not only be used in sports events to earn legitimate betting funds, but also in war! Imagine a soldier who can run twice the distance of an ordinary person and still have the stamina to fight, it would definitely achieve incredible combat results.

"Of course, I'm in medicine, wouldn't I know? If you're interested, we can talk slowly, and I can even give you some to try. For you high-society young masters with kidney deficiency, this stuff is very beneficial." Eddie exhaled smoke rings, sneering constantly.

It is well known that people in high society are relatively open-minded, so kidney deficiency is not an uncommon ailment, it's a common occurrence, and there is no way to cure it yet.

"Then we can cooperate deeply. As long as we unite, there's a lot of money waiting for us in this world. I toast you, and let bygones be bygones." Anruka picked up his red wine glass and drank it all.

Eddie playfully toyed with his wine glass, "There's no need for that. As long as it brings profit, we are friends. Time is money, my friend, let's keep it short. How do you want to cooperate?"

"What do you think of Excella? She is a famous talented woman in our Travis Family, beautiful and charming. Countless young talents have fallen for her. What do you think of such a woman who possesses both beauty and wisdom?" Anruka smoked his cigar, stroking his beard, at this moment he was like a different person from before.

"You were pretending all this time? Including arguing with me, that was also part of your act? Quite cunning. As expected of the heir to the Travis Family, you're certainly not an idiot." Eddie immediately understood that the guy in front of him was not a fool, but a calculating person.

Just like Eddie's feigned foolishness back then, it was to avoid Spencer's retaliation. And this Anruka apparently also had the same goal. This was a cunning opponent, not to be underestimated.

"Aren't you the same? I don't think you're foolish either. Or rather, we both have similar treatment. You are a smart person, and so am I. As long as it doesn't hinder each other's interests, we can cooperate." Anruka didn't hide it, nor did he need to. At certain times, appropriately showing one's strength is more conducive to cooperation negotiations.

Excella, sitting next to him, was not surprised, as if she had known all along that the other person was like this. A long-established noble family, the Travis Family, with thousands of members, would certainly not let a useless person lead the family.

"Alright, you certainly have some tricks up your sleeve. Excella is indeed a beauty, but what does that have to do with me? This beauty is very loyal to your family. I wouldn't even want her if you gave her to me. I'm too lazy to waste effort on a woman who isn't wholeheartedly with me. With money, am I afraid of not finding a beautiful woman?" Eddie scoffed.

What he said was indeed very reasonable. With money, a man doesn't have to be a simp; others will simp for him.

Excella's beautiful eyes flashed with an "as expected" light. She wasn't surprised at all. This was the kind of man she was looking for, one who wouldn't fear the power of the Travis Family, who had the courage to confront such a powerful family head-on. This was a true man.

"Haha, so many people yearn for her, yet you don't want her. How interesting. I will suggest to Grandmother that Excella marry you. You won't need to acknowledge anything, and you'll even receive a generous dowry." Anruka laughed heartily.

"Are you afraid Excella will affect your position?" Eddie didn't refuse, but looked at the other person playfully.

Anruka didn't hide anything and nodded, "You're right, I'm worried this woman will cause trouble for my position. Just trouble, she can't threaten me. What do you think of my proposal? Do you accept it?"

Eddie pondered for a moment, then suddenly burst out laughing, "Accept, why not accept? Why wouldn't I accept such a good thing? Don't worry, I will definitely keep an eye on her and won't let her jeopardize your position as heir."

"Is that so? I don't think so." Excella said with a smile. From the very beginning, she wanted to occupy a high-level position in the Travis Family, but now it seemed impossible.

A woman who marries out, sometimes she might have to help the family with some things, but wanting to rule the entire family, that would be very foolish.

"You still have drugs that you haven't given them to sell? We can cooperate. I know you're very interested in biochemical weapons. Coincidentally, I also have former Umbrella employees under me. Biochemical weapons are a market with huge potential, why not develop it together?" Anruka said with a smile.

"William is better at this than I am. The finished Tyrant was also developed by him, and the G-Virus was also concocted by him. It's more appropriate for you to ask him. As for development? Currently, the T-Virus has been developed to its extreme, and its potential is only so great. Perhaps we could consider Ivan-type Tyrant intelligent bodyguards, each costing several hundred million." Eddie picked up a steak and started eating, not waiting for anyone.

"Perhaps a variant of the T-Virus?" Anruka mused, he had a vague inkling but didn't fully understand Spencer's true intentions.

Immortality is already a very absurd thing; the more rational a person is, the less likely they are to easily believe it. So no one would think of such a foolish thing. The T-Virus can at most be seen as a weapon, not something good for strengthening the body.

"No need to develop it. As far as I know, Umbrella had a variant of the T-Virus, codenamed Veronica, more than ten years ago. If you want it, you might as well go look for it. Consider this news a free gift from me. I'm taking Excella with me." Eddie devoured a large amount of food like a whirlwind and then prepared to leave.

"Good, hehe, don't you want to get that so-called T-Veronica Virus?" Anruka laughed.

"No interest, that stuff can't sell for much money. I'm a respectable person, I only do respectable business." Eddie waved his hand, pulling Excella out of the restaurant.

Chapter 299: Laying Out for the Queen

The thought of Alexia's almost perfect fusion with the Veronica Virus, and that top-tier combat power, gave him a headache. Unless it was a special anti-bioweapon, ordinary weapons would barely cause her effective damage.

After the meeting, Eddie returned to his yacht. He needed to do some special things; he couldn't let that queen perfectly fuse, nor could he let her die. A genius couldn't die so easily, and to win over this genius, he needed to put some thought into it.

Excella did not follow Eddie back to the yacht but went to hand over some affairs. Almost at the same time, her duties were relieved.

The company Excella was in charge of was taken over by people sent by Anruka. She had some time to recruit her former subordinates. Her new position was to be responsible for Eddie's Mysterious Pharmaceutical. It was much better for a woman who was about to become a wife to manage company affairs than for a future brother-in-law to manage them.

If Alexia didn't appear, then the two most formidable women right now would be Excella Gionne and Carla Radames. Both were top-tier academic overachievers, one brilliant in business, the other brilliant in scientific research.
