Chapter 180 - 180

"Curtis, Excella has switched companies and will be in charge of company affairs in the future. You are responsible for fully assisting her. Any problems?" Eddie made a call.

Curtis, who was working overtime at the company, had no complaints; in fact, he felt a little relieved. "That's great, you don't know, my wife and daughter have complained to me so many times that I've almost made the company my home."

"Isn't that a good thing? Just hold on a little longer. Young people need to work hard. If you don't strive now, are you going to wait until you retire at sixty to make an effort?" Eddie laughed.

"You're the boss, so what you say goes. If there's nothing else, I'll hang up now. I have a cooperation project to discuss with Honor Pharmaceutical and Shén Yà Pharmaceutical later." Curtis was also amused. He was older than Eddie, yet this guy was acting all old and lecturing him. Well, he was the boss.

After hanging up the phone, Eddie went to the laboratory. Annette wasn't there; she was probably resting. Pregnant women are usually very sleepy.

Christine stood in front of the cryogenic chamber, inside which a substance was constantly churning. "You're back? Did you get anything?"

"Of course, I wouldn't let others take advantage, unless they're my own people. How's the vaccine research coming along?" Eddie looked at the equally churning solution in the cryogenic chamber.

"It's not looking good. The Veronica Virus is too mutable. It combines the genes of ants and plants. If we follow your method of cryogenic fusion, then it can indeed perfectly create new humans." Christine handed over a tablet.

It contained their research from this period, primarily focusing on the Veronica Virus. Perhaps, if there's an opportunity, consulting Carla would be a good idea.

"Where's Rebecca?" Eddie looked around.

"She went to do experiments, using mice for testing, which is completely ineffective." Christine complained, suggesting that humans could be used for experiments. If they were concerned about crime, they could use clones.

"It seems I still need to step in. Get me a cup of coffee; I'm about to start." Eddie began to fully research the Veronica Virus. He needed to identify the virus's characteristics and develop a vaccine.

Vaccines have an almost one-hit kill effect against infected monsters, much faster and more effective than ordinary firearms.

However, when dealing with large monsters, the dosage should be precise. If the dosage is too small, the target may develop antibodies, which would be troublesome.

To deal with Alexia, a vaccine combined with weapons must be used. At the same time, a little help is needed; Alexia must be made to feel despair, and only then, being saved from that despair, will she feel gratitude.

Someone has to be the villain, and that villain is undoubtedly Wesker, along with his Tricell. Give them a little help to defeat Alexia.

If I save her myself, it might succeed, but I still need to be careful with my calculations. I can't let Wesker see through my tricks, nor can I let Alexia notice.

Christine returned with a cup of coffee. Looking at Eddie, who was focused on his work, a strange feeling arose in her heart. "I'm wondering which woman is unlucky enough to be schemed against by you again."

"This isn't bad luck; I'm saving the world. You know the characteristics of the Veronica Virus. If this virus were perfectly integrated and then spread, like the Queen, controlling other infected people level by level, that would be a disaster." Eddie explained, he would never voice his dirty thoughts.

"You're right, the Veronica Virus becomes very active at room temperature, and it's difficult for anyone to resist its erosion. But why don't you just sneak into the Antarctic Research Facility and activate the self-destruct device? That would solve everything." Christine said, somewhat puzzled, as she didn't know about Alexia's situation yet.

"Why blow it up? That place might be useful in the future, and even if it's not, it can serve as a trap. All right, help me get things ready; I'll need them later." Eddie began to focus on researching the virus.

Meanwhile, Alex, who had returned to Tortuga Island, unexpectedly met someone: Spencer's butler, Patrick.

"Miss Alex, the master has been waiting for you for a long time." Patrick bowed respectfully.

"Hmm, I'll go see him now." Alex wasn't surprised, nor was she flustered.

Inside the research facility, a huge iron cage, or rather, a container, was held captive.

Spencer sat calmly in his wheelchair, his hair white, but his eyes were extremely sinister. He was not troubled by Umbrella's current predicament. "Alex, you left the experimental island without permission?"

Alex held up a test tube. "I conducted some small experiments, and they went quite well. This is your revival serum." She then handed it to Patrick.

"Oh? You should know that Albert is still alive. You regard him as a brother, so I have to be wary of you." Spencer spoke very skillfully, without being sarcastic, but instead directly stating all his thoughts, which had an unusual sense of oppression.

Chapter 300: Alex, the Movie Queen

"You're absolutely right, the company operates this way. Guess what gift I've brought you?" Spencer feigned a benevolent expression.

"Probably some new type of bio-weapon. These things should be handled by Sergei; he's in charge of weapon sales." Alex crossed her arms, her expression showing disdain and disgust.

"You're not willing to research bio-weapons?" Spencer said indifferently.

"After researching the Immortality Project, researching these things easily leads to neurological disorders. Moreover, these ugly things do not conform to my subjective views. Becoming these ugly monsters can indeed grant a longer life than ordinary people, but does the chairman think becoming like this is good?" Alex refused unceremoniously.

"Haha, this is the child I'm familiar with. This isn't a bio-weapon; this is Marcus. I went to great lengths to capture Marcus back." Spencer's smile became sinister when he talked about his old friend.

This made Alex feel even more disgusted. She felt a wave of nausea towards this hateful old man who had artificially cultivated and screened her and Wesker. This kind of test-tube baby was different from others; she didn't even know who her parents were. She was even more miserable than Alexia and Alfred, at least there were still traces for the two siblings.

If she could, Alex would rather return to her husband's side. She wished she could stab Spencer to death with a knife. However, that would be too easy for him. She wanted revenge, to plunge Spencer into endless suffering.

"To be precise, it's a Leech Queen, a Leech Queen infected with the T-Virus. She can simulate anyone's form and possess transcendent strength and defense; bullets can't kill her. This is perfect material, and I hope it helps with your project." Spencer's eyes flashed with a hint of fanaticism.

"That's just a virus that inherited Marcus's consciousness. If you call it a leech, that's fine too. Leeches with human thoughts? That doesn't sound good." Alex scoffed, it seemed the Progenitor Virus was indeed the root of all evil, conjuring up all sorts of bizarre things.

"Whether it's a virus or Marcus himself. You can research it; this thing is very helpful. Immortality has taken its first step, and now it's time to continue the research!" Spencer said fanatically. He was a madman, an old man on his last legs still wanting to be a god?

"Let's put that aside for now. I think we can start the experiment. If necessary, I can guide you from the side." Alex picked up her tablet.

Spencer keenly noticed the diamond ring on Alex's left ring finger. "It seems a lucky fellow has won the love of our Alex."

Alex's tone was flat. "This is a disguise, to prevent unnecessary men from focusing their energy on such matters. If even you believe it, then it proves this style is very convincing."

In fact, this was the wedding diamond ring Eddie gave Alex; Jill, Annette, and other women each had one. It was more symbolic than substantive.

Women, after all, are emotional creatures. Sometimes, some ethereal things can make them incredibly moved.

"Haha, that's indeed a clever idea. Then let's proceed with the enhancements. If it works, you'll get more resources." Spencer made up his mind to try, as he had no one else he could trust.

Many of the talents he had relied on before were gone; some died in Raccoon City, others defected to rival companies. All that remained were Sergei from the Caucasus Branch, Alex from Tortuga Island, and Christine from the France research branch. If it weren't for the lack of available personnel, Spencer wouldn't have taken such a risk.

"You'll be very satisfied." Alex smiled, her smile enchanting, making the surrounding men feel a flutter in their hearts.

Bang! Alex 'accidentally' broke a steel pipe, a display of strength that was incredibly astonishing.

Spencer, however, was not surprised. If the Progenitor Virus could be effective, it would look something like this. What he needed was a virus that he could absorb, not an unstable one with a high probability of killing him.

A week later, with the help of Rebecca and Christine, Eddie developed a vaccine for the Veronica Virus. Rebecca's contribution was the greatest; she had extensive research in virology and could accurately locate unstable structural points to destroy them.

This was only a preliminary result, capable of inhibiting the virus's onset. To deal with already infected monsters, more precise vaccines and calculation methods would be needed.

"Alright, you've worked hard. Everyone go back and get some good rest. Eat and drink your fill, and I'll take you to the beach to play." Eddie gave everyone time off; they had barely rested for almost a week. Even a superman couldn't handle it, and his eyes needed rest, otherwise he would become nearsighted.

"Phew, it's finally over, so tired. Hehe, I'm going to eat, Eddie, don't go back on your word. I'll go pick out a swimsuit, I'm really tired." Rebecca gave a thumbs-up, walking out of the laboratory cheerfully, her posture in high heels very alluring, apparently accustomed to them.

Originally, Becca was the one who cooked, but after hearing that Jill bought a large piece of land, she went to inspect the site. She would plan the best building and medicinal field designs; this was her specialty.

The cooking task then fell to the weary Monica. Monica had previously tried to steal Umbrella's G-Virus embryo and was caught by Svetlana. It was only because Eddie helped repel the pursuing monster William that Monica submitted to this power.

After witnessing Eddie's talent and potential, she put away her petty thoughts. And after seeing Annette, she understood everything. The Annette, rumored to have died in the Zodiac Express crash, appeared on the cruise ship; even a fool would know what was going on.

Having eaten and drunk his fill, Eddie thought for a moment, then said to Monica, "Come with me for a moment; I need your help."

Monica lowered her head and followed in her wine-red high heels. She knew what needed to be done and was always ready.
