"I'm talking about this treatment issue. The process is fine, but the duration is a bit troublesome. That's why I don't dare to risk enhancing you all; if we continue like this, you'd need daily treatment. Who can endure that?" Eddie complained.
"That's why Annette developed a nutritional supplement, to replenish your kidneys," Christine teased. "Less talk, more action."
Chapter 325: The Traitor of Umbrella
If it were a perfect fusion, it would be like sending supplements to the opponent. This is a double-edged sword, and also the best vaccine against Alexia. Even if it's a perfect fusion, it won't be strong enough to break the heavens. Eddie wouldn't believe in turning a body into a missile; this isn't marvel dcs bastard hero.
At the France research branch, Christine sat in the CEO's office. On the table was a pack of cigarettes—medicinal cigarettes Eddie had sent her. The taste of these cigarettes was very pure; at least there was no nauseating feeling.
Her beautiful eyes watched as three rats appeared: Wesker, Chris, and Joseph. "Heh, rats are just rats. Eddie, what exactly are you plotting?"
Christine pondered for a moment. The reason she hadn't left Umbrella was because she was doing quite well now. There was no need to leave; at least, if she did, very few people would accept her. Even if someone did, it would only be for her body, and she strongly disliked the gaze of those stinky men.
Although Umbrella's future was precarious, at least Spencer, that old fox, had no interest in women. Christine could also keep her nominal husband in check, having the final say. In such a good environment, how could she possibly leave?
"Give the order to capture these three alive and throw them on Rockfort Island. They need some real test subjects," Christine said into the phone.
"Understood, Director," a messenger said respectfully.
Christine hung up the phone, her beautiful eyes slightly narrowed as she pondered the problem.
Eddie arrived in Europe with the vaccine, accompanied by Jessica and Lisa. He was there to rendezvous with the Echo Six Team, who had already found some evidence. It was time to set off for the so-called Rockfort Island to find Alfred and make him hand over the Veronica Virus.
He once again set foot on the land of Europe, disembarking at a seaport. This time, Eddie had arrived by boat.
Leaving the port, they headed inland towards the heart of France, to the City of Love, to meet up with the Echo Six Team.
They passed a ranch restaurant and stopped there for a meal. Another group of people was there as well: a family of three. A portly middle-aged man, a beautiful middle-aged woman with well-preserved looks, and a man who appeared to be newly adult.
"Eat quickly. Once we're done, we need to get back on the road," the middle-aged man said, his expression somewhat anxious, feigning composure but still seen through. This guilty look, like a thief, made one wonder if he was a fugitive on the run.
Eddie ordered a huge amount of food. The owner of the ranch restaurant expressed distrust but smiled and said, "Sir, I'm very sorry, but we're a small business. For amounts over ten thousand, we require payment upfront. I'm truly sorry, please understand."
"Are you really worried I'll run off? You have a card machine, right?" Eddie pulled out a gold card and handed it over.
"Of course, sir, you are truly a good person." The owner personally took out the card machine and processed the payment, then apologized, "I'm sorry, sir, too many people have left without paying after eating before. I'll give you a roasted chicken as an apology."
"Just bring the food quickly, I'm very hungry." Eddie waved his hand. He wouldn't look down on such people; doing business is hard, and he could understand, as he was also starting a business.
At this moment, several tall, burly men walked into the restaurant, looking around, appearing very difficult to deal with.
The restaurant owner immediately stepped forward, "Gentlemen, it's a small business, please be lenient. How about I treat you all to a glass of juice?"
The leader pulled out a few banknotes and slapped them on the table. "We're looking for someone. Someone owes us money. We're responsible for taking them away. Cooperate with us, and everything will be fine."
"Okay, who are you looking for?" The restaurant owner quickly pocketed the banknotes.
"A family of three, two men and one woman, the man is very fat," the burly leader said, pulling out a photo.
"They're in the northeast corner. You can find them there, but please don't damage anything," the restaurant owner whispered. He hated people who didn't pay for their meals and those who didn't repay debts; both were the most hated by business owners.
The target these people were looking for was sitting at the table in front of Eddie. At this moment, Eddie and the two women, Jessica, were feasting. Besides food, they were only interested in treatment.
The middle-aged, portly man seemed to notice something and said to his wife, "Anna, wait here for a moment. Steve, you come with me, we're going to the restroom."
The gentle beauty nodded, "Okay, go quickly and come back soon." She didn't notice anything unusual in her husband's tone.
Only the boy sensed something, but he had no clue and could only follow his father, leaving quickly.
The two arrived at the ranch and quickly climbed over the fence. At this point, the boy asked, confused, "Dad, what are you doing? Mom is still waiting for us."
"No time! Let her stall for us. Let's go quickly, those people are catching up," the portly man said, pulling his son into a dilapidated car, ready to leave.
The next second, they were knocked to the ground. The burly leader's eyes were cold. "You, Jimmy Burnside, sold company information. According to regulations, you must die."
"No, I didn't! Please, let me go!" The portly man immediately burst into tears, snot running down his face.
The boy watched all this in disbelief. He never thought his father's selling of company secrets would lead to his family being hunted down.
In the restaurant, several burly men surrounded Anna. "Is your husband Jimmy Burnside?"
"Yes, that's right. Are you looking for him for something? He's not here right now; please come back later," Anna said, confused.
"Grab her," the leader ordered with a wave of his hand.
"What are you doing? Let me go! You're breaking the law! Let me go quickly, I'll call the police!" Anna's hands were tied behind her back, unable to struggle.
Just as the men were about to leave, Eddie, holding a glass of red wine, drained it in one gulp. "Let that woman go!"
"Kid, don't be a hero! We're just doing our job according to the law. Don't try to be a hero!" A burly dark skinned man with a shaved head said, his expression fierce and menacing.
Chapter 326: Just This
"I know you all are just following orders. Don't worry, I understand. I'll make sure you have a good explanation. I think we can talk, can't we?" Eddie said calmly.
"What do you want to do?" the dark skinned burly man yelled.
"Five hundred thousand US dollars. You can share this money with your partners, then go back and tell your superior that this woman was beaten to death." Eddie pulled out a credit card.
The dark skinned burly man pondered for a moment. "Transfer it to my account."
Soon, five hundred thousand was transferred. The dark skinned burly man pushed Anna towards Eddie. "Very good, sir, she's yours. Her husband stole company secrets and sold them to a competing company; this is intolerable."
The dark skinned burly man seemed to realize something and sneered.
Eddie covertly gave the other party a thumbs up. "That was the traitor's action, it has nothing to do with anyone else."
"Let's go!" The dark skinned burly man nodded subtly. This was a deal; if the target couldn't be caught, then they'd say she was killed. Someone paid for a life, and that wasn't a loss.
Eddie delivered a swift hand chop, knocking Anna unconscious. Then he devoured the food voraciously and left the restaurant.
Outside the ranch, a helicopter bearing the Umbrella logo had already flown away, having captured the traitorous father and son. The dark skinned burly man reported, "Boss, that woman was screaming, so I killed her."
"Hmm, if they resist, kill them. Are the loose ends tied up?" The white burly man nodded.
"Everything is taken care of, rest assured." The dark skinned burly man lowered his head, and the team members behind him remained silent. They each received tens of thousands, which was an unexpected windfall, so they naturally wouldn't expose it.
Meanwhile, the captive Steve felt a pang of sorrow. He absolutely couldn't believe his mother was dead. Then he looked at everyone there with resentment, and at his father. It was all his father; his selfishness and greed had led to the destruction of this family!
Eddie seemed thoughtful and pulled out his phone to make a call.
Christine was checking on the Nemesis project. "What is it?"
"Has your company had any employees abscond? The kind who sold company secrets," Eddie asked directly.
