Chapter 259 - 259

Chapter 430: Goddess, Manuela

Standing in front of the computer, Eddie Cai rested his right hand on his chin, pondering, "Her condition is a bit strange; she seems to have some adaptation to the virus."

Alexia sat in the chair, her beautiful eyes glancing at the data on the computer. Seeing Manuela's data, she was also a bit surprised. "She isn't using the original Veronica Virus."

"I know. I currently have an idea that can neutralize the Veronica Virus, but it will take some time." Eddie Cai quickly thought of a plan. "You stay here for now. I'm going out to talk to Javier about something."

Alexia waved her hand, "You go. I'm enough here by myself."

The Queen was very capable, but she had recently fallen in love, so she had hidden her strength.

In the office at the dam, Javier was looking at a photo, a family portrait of three. Manuela could be seen as a sweet and lovely child, now grown into a graceful beauty.

He vaguely heard the guard saying, "Sir, you don't have an appointment; you can't go in."

Bang! The office door was pushed open, and Eddie Cai walked in, smoking a cigarette. "Appointment my ass! This is a matter of life and death. You go out and stand guard."

Javier looked up and said, "You go out and stand guard; don't let anyone in. Doctor, please sit down."

Eddie Cai sat down, with Jessica still standing behind him. "What virus did you give Manuela? Do you have any remaining samples? Let me see. This isn't the same as the standard Veronica Virus; it seems to have been modified. Well, it's just been blindly modified, removing its original advantages and leaving only a bunch of disadvantages."

"What?!" Javier was astonished. "Spencer gave this to me back then. I've been using it for over a year, and there's been no improvement. He said I needed to continue replacing organs for twenty years to recover."

"He lied to you; he doesn't even know himself. Give me the sample; your treatment method is terrible. By the way, because you're selling organs, the Western Federation has already set its sights on you. You'd better be careful." Eddie Cai sat in the chair, smoking a cigarette.

Javier was stunned for a moment, then sneered, "Are you also involved in the Federation's operation?"

"I think they'll probably install trackers, but it doesn't matter; only small units come here. This is your territory, so you deal with them. I'm only interested in the virus, and your daughter is quite pretty. If things become impossible, I can help you save her and ensure her safety," Eddie Cai suggested.

Javier was taken aback, then pointed at Eddie Cai and laughed, "You're actually eyeing my daughter right in front of me!"

"Am I not?" Eddie Cai showed no fear.

"You're very capable; no wonder you can build a business empire. If possible, I hope you can cure my wife. Because of the T-Virus, she turned into an amphibious monster," Javier said sadly.

"You were definitely tricked. The T-Virus either turns people into zombies or Tyrants; there are no other changes. Stability is its biggest characteristic. If she turned into a monster, that can only prove you bought a mutated strain," Eddie Cai explained.

Bang! Javier slammed the table hard. He was furious at being deceived by Umbrella's people twice in a row. "You wouldn't be lying to me, would you?!"

"Lying to you? You have nothing worth me lying about. In my eyes, your wealth is insignificant to me. The only thing I'm interested in is your daughter, and nothing else." Eddie Cai was also completely frank.

Javier took out a test tube from a sealed box. "This is the virus Spencer gave me back then. There were three in total, and one is still here. Take it for research. I only have one request: save my daughter. I can give you everything I have. But if you can't cure her, no matter who you are, you won't leave the Amazon Rainforest."

"Don't worry, I'm confident. Oh, right, remember to get more meat, fish or whatever, for grilling, with coconut juice, the more the better. Pizza and tortillas are also fine." Eddie Cai picked up the test tube and left. Their family of four had an incredibly exaggerated appetite.

Back in the makeshift laboratory, Manuela was sitting in a chair chatting with Alexia. One gentle and kind, the other strong and cold, they somehow managed to get along.

Alexia gently stroked her hair. "There's nothing to be sad about. If you understood more tragic things, you would know that your situation is insignificant."

No one's fate was more unfortunate than Alexia's. She was a clone of Veronica, the founder of the Ashford Family, and her genes were modified to be even more intelligent. From the very beginning, she was a tool, a tool to defeat Spencer and restore the Ashford Family to glory.

Only by understanding the Queen's sorrow is one qualified to feel pity for her, and only then can the Queen fall in love. Love at first sight only happens to naive young girls; mature women always look for a feeling, not just outward appearance.

Manuela lowered her head, "I'm sorry, it's my fault."

Alexia shook her head, "So don't say such disheartening things. Are you eighteen?"

Manuela nodded, "Yes, today is my birthday."

When Eddie Cai arrived at the laboratory, Manuela still shrunk her head a little, somewhat timidly, "Hello, Doctor Eddie."

"Hmm, don't be nervous. Your illness can be cured, and you don't need to use other people's organs to sustain your life. This healing process will be somewhat painful; you need willpower to persevere. Think of your family, think of me, and you'll be able to endure." Eddie Cai nodded, quickly began analyzing the virus, and formulated the corresponding vaccine.

Manuela blinked, "Think of you? Why should I think of you?"

Being interrupted by her like that, she seemed to become less nervous, and even a little curious.

Alexia lit a lady's cigarette and chuckled, "He means he saved you, so you should offer yourself to him."

Manuela became a little embarrassed. Counting the time in the river, Eddie Cai had indeed saved her twice. She whispered, "Not all rescues require offering oneself."

"He's handsome, talented, humorous, and rich. Aren't you satisfied with these? For a woman, the most important thing is to find a husband who can protect her, don't you know?" Alexia began to assist.

Chapter 431: The Exterminated Village

Adding a bit of the Pupa Virus's characteristics to reorganize the body. Reorganizing the body, strengthening the organs, and adapting to the virus's toxicity. This way, the erosion of the Veronica Virus can be avoided. Once cells and the virus are perfectly fused, this kind of problem will not occur.

This approach wasn't something no one thought of; it was something no one could achieve. Without the corresponding technology, reorganization was just a joke.

"Step in. The equipment here is quite rudimentary. Luckily, I recently studied mechanical engineering, otherwise, even if I knew the method, I wouldn't be able to save you." Eddie Cai pointed to the Cryo-chamber he had modified.

Manuela nodded, "Thank you, I will try my best."

"Please call me husband. We agreed you'd offer yourself to me," Eddie Cai corrected her.

Manuela lowered her head, a little embarrassed. "Um, my dad has to agree first." She was so flustered.

"Alright, alright, I was just teasing you, go in. I'll cure you, and if you really insist on marrying me then, we can discuss it." Eddie Cai immediately put on a righteous expression, leaving Manuela a little speechless, and at the same time, a little disappointed.

After Manuela stepped barefoot into the Cryo-chamber, she could clearly hear the conversation of the two outside, as well as some sounds that puzzled her, making her heart race, and pain gradually spread throughout her body. She could feel herself melting.

An hour later, Alexia, with a hint of weakness and a trembling voice, clearly not having recovered, said, "Someone is preparing to deal with Javier. Aren't you going to help him?"

Eddie Cai sat in the chair, leisurely smoking a cigarette. "I need to watch here, and later I'll go see his wife. He said he used the T-Virus on his wife, hoping to cure her, but it turned her into a monster. He wants me to see if she can be cured, and if so, then treat her."

Alexia waved her hand, "You go. I'll watch here. Javier's subordinates have thoughts of betrayal; you'd best be careful. I can sense it."

"Are you tired out?" Eddie Cai teased, his expression smug. The only one who could defeat the Queen was him; others could only look but not touch.

Alexia angrily threw a cup at him, "Get out!"

"Yes, my Queen!" Eddie Cai easily caught the cup, placed it on the table, and walked out humming a tune.

Alexia looked at Eddie Cai's smug appearance and suddenly smiled. This feeling was really good, except her legs were a bit weak. That guy was really a brute; didn't he know what it meant to cherish and pity women?

Meanwhile, on the periphery, the FBC squad had already clashed with Javier's subordinates, and some crude biochemical weapons were also deployed. Low intelligence didn't matter; as long as they were deployed in the right locations, they could achieve good results.

At the same time, Eddie Cai, along with Jessica and Lisa, arrived at a village thirty kilometers downstream from the dam. The village was silent, seemingly without a single living soul.

Eddie Cai entered from the north, while Leon and Krauser entered from the south gate.

The village was half-submerged in water, and there were still some small notes posted, with photos of missing young girls.

Eddie Cai frowned, "Be careful, this place seems to have been massacred by someone."

"I will protect you," Jessica said with a serious expression, her pretty face still flushed from their intimate moments, looking exceptionally captivating.

The three walked on, encountering no one along the way. According to the intelligence Javier provided, Hilda had been let go by one of his subordinates. He had already executed that subordinate and gathered his staff to prepare for the impending siege. He had to buy enough time for his daughter's treatment, and if necessary, he would activate his final plan to stall for time.
