Sheila rolled her eyes exasperatedly. "Your girlfriend is right here, and you're still making jokes like that?"
Alexia, however, shook her head unexpectedly. "I don't mind, as long as we take safety precautions."
Sheila was speechless. What kind of strange people had she encountered? "Are you serious?"
Eddie Cai laughed heartily. "If you think it's real, it's real; if you think it's fake, it's fake. I'll carry you, let's go first. It's not safe here."
This was Sheila's first time being carried on a man's back, and the feeling was strange. "Parker is already contacting Command. That monster's target is me. We must eliminate it, or we won't be able to escape."
"Then we'll just hold out for a little while." Eddie carried Sheila into the villa.
When Mensellu tried to follow, Manuela, seeing that Eddie might be in danger, desperately waved her hand. A stream of fire flew out and landed on Mensellu. The dark tentacles were consumed by the flames, causing him to roar constantly and writhe on the ground in pain.
Manuela looked at her right hand in surprise, vaguely seeing the healing wound. Just now, when her blood touched the air, it turned into fire. It looked quite fantastical, like something a mage would do.
Sheila was also stunned by the sight. What in the world was all this?
Inside the villa, there were still some released Hunters and low-level infected cockroaches. Eddie easily used his Magnum to kill these monsters. Two corpses, clearly bitten to death, could also be seen—they must have been the guards who took money to release Javier earlier.
"Do you know what the most unfortunate thing in life is?" Eddie suddenly asked.
Sheila was still immersed in the miraculous sight of Manuela. "What is it?"
"It's earning enough money, but then dying. Having money but no life to spend it—isn't that the most pathetic thing? Ah, truly pitiful." Eddie shook his head, feigning sadness.
"You're not the type to feel pity for the world; I've investigated you, so stop pretending," Sheila teased. Having spent some time with the man, she found him quite humorous and witty, completely different from the description in his file. His only weakness might be the honey trap.
But Sheila forgot that none of the women who dared to use a honey trap on Eddie ended up wanting to leave. The key was his substantial assets; being handsome and rich was just superficial.
"Alright, looking back, when I was still in Raccoon City, I had hair, I didn't have a girlfriend, and I didn't have money. Look, two years later, I have a wife, I found a girlfriend, and I have my own child. Doesn't that make you jealous?" Eddie Cai burst out laughing.
Sheila was startled at first, then burst out laughing. "Aren't you shameless? You're already a winner in life, what more do you want?"
"I'm just missing you. Interested? See you tonight at the Rujia Grand Hotel, don't be late." Eddie Cai joked.
How much is Rujia paying you? I'll give double for seven days!
Suddenly, the ground shook violently, and a dinosaur-like plant head emerged. The flower opened, revealing Javier's head. "Eddie, you actually did it. Very good. Manuela, my daughter, you must live well. Hilda, I am happy that you can return to normal. I am sorry."
"Father! How did you become like this?" Manuela was close to tears.
"I'm fine. Anyway, I'm almost beyond saving. For your sake, I am willing to become a demon. You should leave. That is Mensellu, the traitor. I will kill him, that idiot." Javier maintained a clear mind, flashes of red light occasionally appearing, proving he was fighting the virus.
"Manuela, my daughter, you must live well. I am failing now. Before I am killed, hurry and leave this place. Doctor Eddie, please, help me take care of my good daughter and my wife. Without your protection, they will be captured and dissected for research. I know the style of those damned Federation Dogs." Javier spoke with his last vestiges of clear reason.
"Don't worry, I will 'take good care' of them." Eddie Cai nodded solemnly. As for whether 'taking care' meant having a few more children, that remained unknown.
Thud. Two figures dropped down nearby, seemingly being chased by something. They were Special Forces Soldier Krauser and Presidential Agent Kevin.
"Hey, Eddie, it's me, Kevin. There are a lot of Hunters behind us, hurry up and run!" Kevin stood up and defended the drop zone with his firearm.
Krauser saw the bio-weapon again, along with Javier's bizarre appearance and the Jajangmyeon Monster on the other side. All of this brought him immense shock.
Chapter 438: Sheila is in Danger Now That She Knows the Secret.
Swish! Swish! Swish! Amidst the monstrous roar of Javier, spikes rained down like darts. Eddie, carrying Sheila and pulling Alexia, hid beneath the nearby steel structure.
An Electromagnetic Barrier appeared, blocking the wooden spikes. Upon contact with the Electromagnetic Barrier, the spikes turned into dust.
Krauser, unfortunately, was hit in the left arm by a spike while covering Kevin, and the blood immediately flowed profusely. A strange force began infecting his body. Fortunately, the Special Forces soldier's physical fitness was strong enough to barely suppress the virus.
"Are you okay? Hurry up and hide." Kevin pulled Krauser over and began bandaging him.
Leon arrived at the same time. Looking at the enormous monster, and then in Kevin's direction, he handed over an emergency disinfectant vial. "This should be more effective. It's a sterilizing disinfectant developed by a pharmaceutical company."
Krauser, however, focused on Eddie's side, clearly seeing the wooden spikes mysteriously annihilate a distance away from him. This miraculous sight filled Krauser with immense astonishment. Looking back at the irrational Javier, he became convinced that only those who mastered the virus could gain power.
Fear? That is merely the excuse of cowards. The strong will dominate the virus and obtain power!
Sheila also noticed this. "You seem very magical."
Eddie Cai suddenly sneered, "Since you found out, I can't let you leak my secret." Having said that, he carried Sheila and ran far away, finding a room where he prepared to make Sheila understand the consequences of knowing his secret.
Alexia did not stop him. Instead, she said with a beaming smile, "Jessica, you and Lisa go watch the door for him."
Jessica and Lisa quickly leaped over the five-meter-high greenhouse glass and sped away in high heels. Such agility was likely impossible even for elite special forces members!
This phenomenon further convinced Krauser that the virus could be dominated, and he was confident he could achieve it!
"Let's move farther away. Your father has been consumed by that strange plant; he can't be saved, he's essentially dead. You are very fortunate to have a father and mother who loved you. Let's get away from here." A hint of sadness flashed across Alexia's beautiful eyes.
But she quickly cheered up again. Alexander's coldness forged Alexia's path to becoming a Queen. And Eddie's appearance allowed her to feel the warmth of family; at least she had someone she loved to strive to live for.
Manuela felt reluctant, but Hilda said firmly, "Manuela, remember your father's words and live well."
"I understand, Mother," Manuela said sadly.
The traitor Mensellu felt lost after losing Sheila's trail, but upon hearing Javier's voice, he immediately went mad again. "Javier, you old dog, I'm going to kill you!"
Several Hunters rushed into the greenhouse, only to be grabbed by Mensellu, squeezed to death, and then devoured. His size increased, and he roared as he charged toward Javier.
Bang! Although Mensellu's size had swelled to five meters tall, he was a mere junior compared to the nearly thirty-meter-tall Javier!
He was immediately knocked flying, and Mensellu violently crashed into a wall, landing right near Leon and the others. He instantly tried to capture and devour them; his deranged focus was simply consumption, endless consumption.
Krauser endured the pain, pulled the pin on an Incendiary Grenade, and quickly fled.
The burning Incendiary Grenade instantly set Mensellu alight. Most creatures are not immune to fire, and if they burn, they will die.
The screaming Mensellu rolled continuously on the ground. The one-armed Thanatos Tyrant, who had been pursuing from behind, locked onto Mensellu, immediately charged, and finished him off with its massive claws.
Javier continued to roar incessantly. His frenzied mind no longer showed any sign of humanity; he craved to devour and absorb everything, seeking out his wife and daughter to absorb them too.
Thud! The Thanatos Tyrant was pierced through the head by a massive appendage, turning it into a Tanghulu skewer. Several appendages passed through different parts of its body, instantly killing the mutated Thanatos Tyrant!
Inside Command, General Morgan watched as the display screen in front of him suddenly went static. This was the activation of the Thanatos Tyrant's self-destruct sequence after its death.
Javier, injured by the Thanatos Tyrant's self-destruct bomb, still began devouring the remaining chunks of flesh. Even the dying Mensellu, burned by the flames, was grabbed by an appendage and consumed by Javier's mouthparts—crunchy, with the taste of dog shit!
"Sheila, Sheila, this is Parker, respond if you receive this. Headquarters has dispatched armed helicopters, along with local armed forces." Parker called out over the walkie-talkie.
Unfortunately, Sheila could neither respond nor spare the time to respond; she was undergoing torment that was gradually getting better.
Javier quickly located Manuela and extended a tentacle, attempting to absorb her.
Alexia's beautiful eyes narrowed, and she glared. An invisible Electromagnetic Barrier appeared, turning an entire appendage into dust. She didn't need to use blood to synthesize fire anymore. That method, which injured the user almost as much as the enemy, was outdated, and she disdained using it.
