Eddie let Hilda out and pushed the food over. "Eat. We can talk after you've eaten."
Manuela, on the other side, was still inside the cocoon, undergoing modification and not yet awake. She could hear every movement outside. Everything she wanted to hear, and everything she didn't want to hear, was crystal clear. She felt very curious about Eddie; that man seemed extremely capable, and he had even cured her mother?
Hilda quickly devoured twenty-five kilograms of hamburgers and barbecue, and drank ten kilograms of coconut juice before finally recovering. Her tone was stiff, her pronunciation poor, but barely understandable. "Thank you."
"You're welcome. You probably still can't remember what happened, but we don't have much time left. I promised Javier I would properly 'take care' of you and Manuela. Take a rest first, and we'll depart later," Eddie said with a smile.
Jessica looked at Hilda, feeling as if she was seeing her past self. Her beautiful eyes glanced at Eddie, flashing with gratitude and admiration.
Alexia didn't go over to greet them. Instead, she continued browsing her tablet computer, a faint trace of electric current flashing in her left hand. The current constructed a unique magnetic field, causing nearby iron objects to tremble slightly, seemingly affected.
At a certain moment, Alexia raised her fair hand, and a dagger flew from a distance, landing in her grasp. Holding the dagger, she looked somewhat valiant and heroic.
Eddie's eyes lit up. Was this some sort of superpower? "How did you do that?"
Alexia raised her fair hand. "It's simple, just use your hand. Let me teach you, silly husband."
A Queen is a Queen, and she was starting to show a little tsundere side. Even if she was tsundere, she was still a wife who would obediently bear Eddie's children—that much was expected.
The black man fighting fiercely in front of the dam didn't notice that Javier had already bribed the guards and gone to his villa. For the safety of his wife and daughter, he could only sacrifice himself for justice, buying enough time for them.
The FBC squad, aided by Thanatos Tyrant, had already advanced below the dam. One more step and they could breach it.
Mensellu watched, his eyes splitting with rage. He had just defected, entirely based on Simmons' suggestion. Simmons was the Federal Security Advisor, and Mensellu had expected him to deceive him. But what was the result? He saw Javier step down, ready to let Mensellu take the fall completely.
"Damn it! Release all the biological weapons! Set the command: kill them! Kill all invaders!" Mensellu roared.
"All of them? People from Grayhound will be coming soon to receive the goods. What will we do then?" a deputy leader reminded him.
Mensellu grabbed the man's collar, his eyes filled with extreme fury. "I said, release everything! If we don't release them, we'll all die. Things can be made again, but if you're gone, I'll take good care of your wife!"
The deputy leader flashed a hint of resentment but dared not say anything. "Yes, I'll go do it immediately."
Mensellu sneered as he looked at the special forces below. They want to kill him? They'd have to get past the biological weapons first.
Although Hunters could ambush a special forces squad in the dense forest, they were still no match for Thanatos Tyrant. The immense difference in strength resulted in the Hunters having their heads smashed one by one.
Despite the prolonged, brutal slaughter, Thanatos Tyrant maintained good stability. There was no sign of going berserk; the Tyrant model developed by Dr. Mueller was specifically characterized by its stability.
Wesker was still hiding and secretly collecting combat data and intelligence. This time, he didn't dare stand openly at a good vantage point, lest he be caught by that transvestite Morpheus; escaping would be difficult then.
Leon, meanwhile, secretly infiltrated the dam, exploring separately from Kevin, Krauser, and the others. He ran into Morpheus around a corner, who grabbed him and threw him into a room.
"Heh heh, you would have died long ago without me. Help me retrieve some things, and I'll help you complete your mission." Morpheus started the negotiation bluntly.
Leon coughed a few times, having just thought he was going to die. "I can, but it cannot violate Federation law."
"Ignorant fool." Morpheus sneered.
Chapter 435: The Awakening of Manuela
Can't beat others in scientific research? Then just poach them, make them your wife, and have them bear your children. That way, you won't have to worry about your own technological progress falling behind.
A strange electric glow flashed in his right hand, and the dagger automatically flew into Eddie's grasp, having been drawn in using the magnetic field effect.
"That's truly an amazing display, Honey. Don't you think changing our own magnetic field could allow us to fly?" A sharp glint flashed in Eddie's eyes. Wasn't this the best application of magnetic fields?
Alexia's beautiful eyes showed a hint of appreciation. "You really are a clever little imp! But let's experiment when we get back. There's nothing worth researching here."
"When we go back, I guess I'll be the one doing the research again. You and Alex won't have the time," Eddie said, slightly troubled.
Alexia burst out laughing. This little husband of hers really left her speechless. Was he that fond of and obsessed with women bearing his children? He talked as if having children meant they wouldn't run away.
Half an hour later, when Manuela emerged from the cocoon, her internal organs had been restructured, and she had temporarily adapted to the Veronica Virus. After returning to Goddess Island for further treatment, perhaps she could become another heavy hitter?
However, judging by Manuela's appearance, being a nanny seemed more suitable; she showed no murderous intent whatsoever.
"Since you're awake, have something to eat." Eddie pushed the food cart over. He himself had found some data files on a computer, which appeared to be transaction records of the so-called Holy Serpent Organization. Even the Kazak Company had dealings recorded here.
Manuela nodded, then suddenly spotted a very familiar middle-aged beautiful woman in front of her. "Mom?"
Hilda's somewhat lost eyes suddenly shone with spirit. "Manuela, my daughter!"
The mother and daughter embraced, weeping tears of joy. After being separated for many years, how could they not be emotional upon reuniting?
Eddie coughed. "If you want to be emotional, save it for later. Finish eating now; we're getting ready to leave. Also, put on your sneakers."
Manuela was slightly shy but also grateful. She could feel that she was no longer suffering that agonizing pain; it was as if she had been cured. "Thank you, Eddie. I will try my best to repay you, I promise. Let's go find Dad. He's at the villa five kilometers behind the dam."
"Your father's subordinates have betrayed him. I don't know what state he's in right now. Let's leave here first and gather intelligence as we go," Eddie nodded.
"What! My father! Please, help him. Although he isn't a good person, he is my father, and he only went to extremes because of my illness. I beg you, Mr. Eddie, please save my father, okay?" Manuela cried.
"I'll try my best. If I can save him, I will. If he's dead, there's nothing I can do," Eddie nodded.
"Thank you." Manuela quickly started eating, then put on her sneakers, ready to depart.
Countless gunshots had already begun inside the reservoir. A large number of biological weapons had been released here, including improved Hunters and Sweepers. The Sweepers' potent venom could kill a person instantly, and even if death wasn't immediate, it would slowly poison them.
To halt the advance of the Federal Bio-Terrorism Commission, Mensellu had reached a state of madness, releasing all the biological weapons intended for trade.
A pale-skinned person then appeared near Mensellu. "You need help, my friend."
"Who are you!" Mensellu turned and pointed his gun at the black-robed man.
"Who am I? I am your buyer. I have a very unique virus here that can grant humans the strongest physique while preserving their sanity. Perhaps you can use it to escape!" The black-robed man handed over a test tube.
Mensellu took the test tube and sneered, "You want to help me? You're just using me as a test subject. Do you think I'd fall for that?"
"This is a test from the organization. If you can pass the test, you may join us. If you fail, it will only prove that you are not suitable to become a New Human possessing great power," the black-robed man sneered.
Mensellu's expression shifted. "Hmph, I'll use it. How do I contact you?"
"I will contact you myself when the time comes, provided you are qualified." The black-robed man finished speaking and left. When Mensellu looked up again, he realized the man had teleported away with incredible speed.
That ghostly figure astonished him greatly. Looking at the test tube in his hand, could he also obtain this kind of power?
Thanatos Tyrant was invincible, slaughtering relentlessly inside the dam. Even when injured, it could quickly recover; nothing seemed capable of harming it.
However, the flaw still existed: the exposed large heart remained a problem. But since the opponents weren't professional regular troops, they weren't targeting its heart.
In the laboratory, Eddie released the door restraints. The two armed personnel guarding the entrance immediately had their necks twisted. Jessica, looking disgusted, wiped her hands, her beautiful eyes flashing with aversion.
Manuela's expression was calm as she leaned against her mother, Hilda. Hilda's gaze shifted only between Ada and her daughter. She felt very grateful toward Eddie and held a certain fondness for him—perhaps because he was the first person she saw after transforming from a monster back into a human.
Pushing forward the whole way, Eddie grabbed a squad leader, choked him, and lifted him up. "Where is Javier?"
