Chapter 454: Ambush
In the end, Ye Minzhi accepted Eddie's absurd reasoning and bought one hundred hectares of land. This wasn't particularly troublesome for her; buying land was far better than having to exchange her body for it.
The reason Eddie bought so much land was entirely because he wanted to plant grain. Grain wouldn't be wasted, and besides, as their enhancements increased, the appetites of him and his wives would continue to grow, making it necessary to cultivate adequate food.
Ye Minzhi could never have imagined that Eddie's intention was simply to plant things. One hundred hectares of land was not easy to acquire, and even with her extensive network, it would take some time.
Eddie was still very interested in the E-Mold series. It was especially notable as the first time mold was used as a biological weapon. This mold was so powerful it could allow a person to regenerate and revive even after half their body had been blown off. It could only be described as monstrous.
It was worth studying to some extent, and if he could utilize it, that would be even better.
Returning to the Mediterranean Headquarters building, thirty kilometers away on the ocean was the increasingly prosperous city of Terragrigia. It was definitely an excellent choice for living and residence.
Excella originally wanted to move there, but she gave up the idea because of Eddie's words. Eddie was her husband, and she had to listen to what her husband said.
"Why do you think Husband won't let us move to that city to work? Is he afraid of trouble, or is he afraid of being too high-profile?" Excella sat in her boss chair, turning to look at the ocean city outside.
Christine remained working here. As a woman who had undergone secondary enhancement, her initial nausea and sickness lasted for about half a day. Her body quickly adapted to the symptoms; aside from a slight bump in her stomach, there were no other signs that she was pregnant.
"That city might be hiding some kind of secret. I investigated, and the Greyhound Organization's methods are very aggressive. It's possible they might resort to extreme measures. Furthermore, the leader of Grayhound is Norman, and he holds deep hatred for the Federation and the European Union. There's no need for us to get involved in that city; that city is connected to his deceased family," Christine explained.
Christine had practically guessed this as soon as Eddie mentioned it. She didn't know how her husband had learned the information, but that didn't stop her from admiring him.
"Extreme measures?" Excella's slender fingers tapped rhythmically on the desk. "Forget it, I won't worry about it. Who should we send to manage the land in South India? Husband is really strange, thinking about farming."
"Under certain rules, we still abide by the Law of Conservation of Mass. If one day the experiments have a breakthrough, perhaps it will be necessary." Christine was not surprised. Even though she was married to Eddie and carrying his child, Christine remained extremely curious about him. This man was truly a mystery, possessing a fatal attraction.
The office door opened, and Eddie entered with Jessica. "Did I hear you discussing how handsome I am?"
Christine rolled her eyes, looking playful and lively. "Stop flattering yourself. We were just discussing why you bought so much land."
"I bought it to farm and grow more grain. Then, when it's shipped back, I'll develop a Compression and Purification Technique to extract the essence and nutrients, making them into biscuits or other food that can be stored for a long time." Eddie held nothing back from his wives.
"Husband, are you preparing for something?" Excella's beautiful eyes sparkled with amusement.
"I'm just planning ahead. Maybe we'll start Space Travel in the future, and food will definitely be essential. Or perhaps it's just simple preparation—who knows when our world might turn into a wasteland?" Eddie shrugged.
After resting for three days at the Mediterranean Headquarters, Lisa and Hilda arrived from Goddess Island. This time, they would accompany Eddie on a robbery mission. With them present, the mission would be incredibly easy.
The virus research was handed over to his two gorgeous and brilliant wives, Alexia and Alex. One would continue developing a new Supercomputer, and the other would research the T-Phobos Virus and look for ways to absorb and merge it.
In the suburbs of South Thailand, there were too many remote mountainous areas, and many places cultivated prohibited crops. Compared to traditional crops, planting poppies was clearly more expensive and earned more money.
Eddie infiltrated the area using Ye Minzhi's intelligence. For some reason, he had an ominous feeling. "Jessica, I feel like something is wrong. You and Lisa check out what's happening."
Jessica and Lisa began using Sonic Detection, discovering a large number of bombs on the outskirts of the village, and a large number of biological weapons lurking inside the village.
Eddie looked at the red dot on his Wrist Computer, frowned slightly, and made a call.
Ye Minzhi was sitting in her office dealing with branch matters. She was wearing a formal women's suit, as her style was always very strict. "Hello, what is it?"
"Are you messing with me? That village is full of frozen biological weapons!" Eddie's tone was extremely cold.
Ye Minzhi frowned after hearing this. "I don't know, I swear I don't know. Do you believe me?"
"Oh? You weren't trying to collude with someone else and set up an ambush?" Eddie's voice was slightly mocking.
Ye Minzhi raised her delicate eyebrows, lit a cigarette, and said, "If I wanted to ambush you, I could have just ambushed you directly the last time you came. Why go through all this trouble?"
"Then how do you explain those things in the village?" Eddie sneered.
"Eddie, we are adults. Can we stop playing these games? It's exhausting. If we have time, we should think about how to complete the mission." Ye Minzhi also frowned, genuinely unaware of who was trying to scheme against her.
"Ye Minzhi, I'm warning you, don't try to scheme against me, or don't blame me for doing something irrational to you." Eddie threatened.
Ye Minzhi was so angry she laughed. "I really didn't scheme against you, whether you believe it or not. But someone in Shén Yà Pharmaceutical definitely dislikes you. I hope you are careful. Once you complete the mission, I will personally apologize to you."
"You said it." Eddie hung up the phone, frowning.
Based on what he knew, the other party really wasn't that type of person. On the contrary, Ye Minzhi was a very smart woman; otherwise, she wouldn't be the representative of Shén Yà Pharmaceutical. Like Christine, she might not surpass the other party, but she wouldn't be much inferior either.
Chapter 455: The Pot Calling the Kettle Black Calling the Kettle Black
Who exactly set the ambush? Eddie was confused. It might not be Ye Minzhi, but then who was it? This was highly suspicious.
Jessica continued to observe every movement in the village before them. Although there were many biological weapons inside, they weren't particularly lethal. Her focus was on ensuring her husband's safety; who did the scheming was outside her job scope.
"Jessica, have you detected anything useful?" Eddie took out his sharp dagger. Today, he might have to slaughter those criminals again.
People were constantly moving in and out of the village, and two men carrying submachine guns were guarding the outer watchtowers. This place definitely didn't look like an ordinary village; it was likely a den.
Jessica shook her head. "No, I only found Hunters inside, and a Tyrant—it's a Thanatos Tyrant!"
"Thanatos Tyrant?" Eddie's expression was strange. That thing should only be owned by the Federation. Moreover, it was their exclusive patent. Placing a Thanatos Tyrant here—if someone said there was nothing fishy going on, Eddie wouldn't even believe it himself.
Soon, a helicopter flew over brazenly. It was an Armed Transport Aircraft. It had no markings and landed smoothly on the Helipad outside the village.
Several staff quickly emerged from the aircraft. The hatch opened, and they pushed out a massive Freezing Container. Several bottles of Nutrient Solution were hanging on the container, seemingly transporting some kind of patient.
After Jessica used Sonic Detection, she whispered, "Husband, inside is the Talos Tyrant!"
"No need to rush. Things aren't that simple. We don't need to act yet. Hmph, they want to scheme against me? Then I want to see who has the guts!" Eddie sneered, a flash of anger in his eyes. He was the only one who ever schemed against others, not the other way around. To dare to provoke the devil, they must be tired of living!
Several figures wearing South Thailand military uniforms walked out of the village and shook hands with a white-haired man from the plane. To Eddie's surprise, this man was Nikolai, who had escaped from Raccoon City! During the last cruise ship attack incident, this fellow had also quickly slipped away.
"Buddy, long time no see. Have a good rest here, and I'll find the best girls to entertain you," a military uniform leader laughed loudly.
Nikolai waved his hand. "No need. You can inspect the weapon, and if there are no problems, initiate the transfer. I have other business to attend to. It's tough being a Wage Slave these days."
Don't forget Nikolai was a Eunuch. Although he lost his dignity as a man, he gained the benefit of not needing to shave. He made a huge profit, didn't he?
"Then let me take a look," Kuang Ka, the man in the military uniform, nodded.
Nikolai motioned, and the staff began to defrost the container and took out an instrument. As the temperature rose, the container was pushed open. A robust, armored figure stood up, measuring a full three and a half meters tall. Its body was covered in thick armor. Its left arm was enormous, and it retrieved a Shoulder-mounted Cannon and a heavy Gatling Machine Gun from the plane.
Kuang Ka's eyes flickered. "This is good stuff. Can I try it out?"
Nikolai handed over the Remote Control. "Two people before also wanted to try it out first, using me as the test subject, thinking they wouldn't have to pay if they killed me. That's a great idea, don't you think?"
Kuang Ka gave an awkward laugh. "Not at all, not at all. I am a very honest businessman. You can ask around; I deal honestly with everyone. If I say fifty pounds of powder, it's fifty pounds of powder—not a gram less."
Talos's command was simple: identify teammates, then slaughter non-teammates.
Twenty minutes later, a village five kilometers away was razed to the ground. Talos stood on the burning ruins. There were no survivors around, only unarmed civilians, all of whom he killed without exception. The old, the weak, the sick, and the disabled—not a single one was spared.
Eddie's eyes flickered. Using the lives of hundreds of people in a village for an experiment—these criminal leaders were truly sick in the head.
Kuang Ka said with satisfaction, "The item is good. Transfer the money to him."
The two stood there smoking and chatting for ten minutes. Nikolai nodded contentedly after seeing the money arrive in his account.
